Chapter 15 - CHAPTER FIFTEEN: The Leap Of Fate

Bisola and TJ didn't hesitate, launching themselves after Amina as the creatures closed in behind them. The three friends sailed through the air, their stomachs dropping as they crested the gap. Time seemed to slow as they hung suspended, the trees rushing up to meet them.

Amina landed hard on the balls of her feet, rolling forward to absorb the impact. Bisola and TJ followed, their landings slightly less graceful, but they managed to stay upright. As they caught their breath, they turned to gaze back at the gap they'd just cleared. The creatures were too slow, and they tumbled into the gap, snarling and snapping at the air.

For a moment, the group was safe – but the creatures would be back, and next time they wouldn't be so lucky. They took off in a sprint, the trees blurring together as they fled for their lives. The darkness enveloped them like a shroud, a welcome respite from the chaos outside. They lay there, panting, their ears straining to pick up any sounds from the creatures.

At first, there was only silence, and then the distant snarls and scratches echoed through the opening, growing fainter with each passing moment. The group let out a collective sigh of relief as they realized they'd temporarily escaped their pursuers. Amina slowly sat up, her eyes adjusting to the dim light. They found themselves in a small cave, the air stale and musty.

Bisola and TJ sat up beside her, their faces etched with exhaustion. For a moment, they just looked at each other, grateful to be alive. But as the adrenaline wore off, reality set in – they were trapped, and they still had to find a way to rescue Mike. "Mike!" Amina suddenly snapped, like someone who had just woken up from a terrible nightmare, and continued, "Oh Mike! I wonder what's up with Mike, right? I hope they haven't..." She paused, raised her hand up, and folded her palm with all her might as she closed her eyes tight, trying to take back her words.

"No, it can't be." She said, shaking off the thought from her head as she shook her head. TJ chipped in, pointing at the entrance cave, "If only this beast wasn't here now, we'd go check and rescue him." "We just have to find a way out first," Bisola added.

Suddenly, the group's eyes widened in horror as they saw the creatures squeezing through the narrow opening, their twisted bodies contorting to fit through the small space. The air seemed to grow colder as the creatures' eyes adjusted to the darkness, their glowing orbs fixed on the group. Amina, Bisola, and TJ scrambled to their feet, backing away from the creatures as they advanced.

The cave was small, with no visible exits, and the group knew they were trapped. The creatures began to close in, their jaws snapping wildly as they prepared to attack. The group stood frozen, their hearts pounding in their chests, as they prepared to face their attackers.
