Chapter 22 - CHAPTER TWENTY TWO: The Darkness Within

The darkness surged forward, its power blindingly intense. Amina, Bisola, TJ, and the creature stumbled back, their eyes shielding themselves from the blast. The air was filled with an otherworldly energy, and the ground shook beneath their feet. But as the light faded, they saw that the darkness had taken on a new form. A form that was all too familiar.

The darkness had taken on Mike's form, his eyes black as coal, his skin deathly pale. Amina, Bisola, TJ, and the creature stared in shock, unsure of what to do. They had thought they were fighting a mindless entity, but now they were faced with a figure that was once one of their own.

"Mike?" Amina whispered, her voice trembling. "Is that you?" She took a step forward, her eyes fixed on the Mike-like figure. She wanted to believe that it was really Mike, that he was still in there somewhere. But the creature's growl stopped her.

"This is not Mike," it said, its massive body tense with aggression. "This is the darkness's final attempt to defeat us." Amina, Bisola, and TJ exchanged uncertain glances. They knew they had to act fast, but they were torn between fighting the darkness and saving Mike. Could they really bring themselves to hurt him, even if he was under the darkness's control?

The creature charged forward, its massive fists flying. The Mike-like figure didn't flinch, its eyes fixed on Amina and her friends. As the battle raged on, Amina realized that they had to find a way to separate Mike from the darkness's influence. But how? They couldn't just attack him without knowing if it would hurt Mike or the darkness.

"Wait!" Amina shouted, grabbing the creature's arm. "We can't just fight him. We have to find a way to save Mike." The creature paused, its eyes fixed on Amina. "What do you propose?" it asked.

Amina thought quickly. She knew they had to act fast, but they couldn't just attack Mike without a plan. "We need to find a way to purify him," she said. "To cleanse him of the darkness's influence." Bisola nodded, her eyes fixed on the Mike-like figure. "I think I know how to do it," she said. "But it's going to be risky."

TJ's eyes were fixed on the Mike-like figure, his face pale with fear. "What if we can't save him?" he asked. Amina's eyes met his, and she knew that they had to try. They couldn't just give up on Mike without a fight.

As they hesitated, the Mike-like figure began to laugh again, its cold, mirthless sound echoing through the caverns. The creature growled, its massive body tense with aggression. "We don't have much time," it said. "The darkness is growing stronger by the second."

Amina nodded, her mind racing with ideas. They had to act fast, and they had to be careful. One wrong move could mean disaster. But they had to try. For Mike's sake, they had to try.

As they fought, Amina noticed something strange. The Mike-like figure seemed to be weakening, its movements slowing. She realized that the darkness's power was waning, and Mike's consciousness was fighting back. A spark of hope ignited within her, and she knew they had to act fast.

"Bisola, TJ, let's try to reach Mike," she shouted above the din of battle. "We have to save him." Bisola and TJ nodded, their faces set with determination. Together, they launched themselves at the Mike-like figure, dodging the creature's wild swings. The creature followed, its massive body providing cover as it shielded them from the darkness's attacks.
