Chapter 2 - A New Beginning II

I was surprised that really had worked. My stats seem pretty tame. My [Magic Aptitude] being 100% was quite shocking. But even more surprising is that my mana score didn't load. Everything else loaded, but all my [Mana] says is "?."

It concerned me seeing that I had such a high [Magic Aptitude], but I didn't even know if I could cast spells. More importantly, the computer never explained what a "[Grade]" is. But of course, the computer had an explanation for what it was.

[Grades are your ranking excluding divinity, which will increase with you leveling up, completing quests, and also fighting beings of divinity. This system was made for people who cannot achieve divinity. Grades from lowest to highest rank: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, Jack, Queen/King, Joker, Epic, Legendary, Mythical, Ace. There are only 4 aces at a time for each suit in a deck of cards].

After everything had been explained to me, I was asked if I'd like to look at the shop, to which I refused. The computer said one final thing to me. [It is time for you to get a supporting deity. A supporting deity is a Deity who gives you their [Story Skill].

 A [Story Skill] is a skill that culminated over the course of their entire life, which defined them.] What I thought was a simple isekai turned into a convoluted series of events to finally reach this point.

All I had to do was wait for a Deity to choose me. After all, my stats weren't bad; my [Magic Aptitude] is perfect. They wouldn't look over me just because my [Mana] stat didn't load, right? Wrong. Dead wrong.

 The system notified me every time a god looked at my stats, and out of the 200 that viewed my stats, not one had chosen me. I was about to give up on having a supporting deity until I received a message from a Deity named [The one who knows all].

He offered me a skill. He said it wasn't the strongest skill, but it was just as good as any. He called the skill [True Knowledge]. I was skeptical, but I needed a [Story Skill], so I accepted.

I muttered under my breath, "This better be a good skill". When I looked at the skill, everything was blocked, saying I hadn't unlocked the right to use the skill. I could only stand there puzzled, wondering what I could've done wrong. I couldn't even read the description of the skill.

The whole situation didn't make much sense. No Mana score, perfect Magic Aptitude, and now a useless skill. I was starting to feel like this isekai was only trying to fuck me over. The computer's screen changed for a final time. [You will be sent to the isekai world momentarily]

I had hope in my heart that I wouldn't be fucked over from this, but I was wrong. I passed out just like I had when I found myself in the room. When I woke up this time, though, I found myself in a cage with my friends. Before we could talk, we heard a booming voice say, "Let the auction begin."
