Chapter 209: Ning Rongrong and Zhu Zhuqing See Shadows of Tang San in Qian Renxue
"Ah!!"
Ma Hongjun screamed again. A trail of blood marked his fall as he flew back to the Heaven Dou Second Team's rest area, where Flender, acting like a goalkeeper, caught him.
Seeing his beloved student in such a state, Flender's eyes turned bloodshot. Breathing heavily, just as he was about to roar in fury, the referee's voice rang out.
"Heaven Dou Royal Academy Second Team receives a yellow card warning. During the match, coaching and interference with the team occurred. One more offense will result in immediate disqualification."
The referee walked over to the Second Team's rest area, pulled out a yellow card, and held it out to Flender.
Emperor Xue Ye frowned at the scene. This referee was a bit too "by the book." Did he not realize that Heaven Dou Royal Academy was the academy his empire had personally founded? This man would be dismissed after today.
Flender didn't take the card. Instead, he pointed at Qian Renxue and shouted, "Referee! I protest! He's not competing—he's trying to kill someone! Look what he did to my student! He violated tournament rules. I demand he be disqualified!"
The referee looked down at Ma Hongjun—white foam at the mouth, blood spewing, eyes rolled back, and body twitching. It did look bad. He cast a stern glare at Qian Renxue.
Salas raised a brow, thinking Flender must have a death wish. Did he even know who he was talking about? Salas was head of the tournament committee in the Heaven Dou division and the head of Spirit Hall. Qian Renxue was the Holy Son of Spirit Hall, son of the Pope, with status just below Title Douluo elders. Yet Flender dared challenge him?
As for the referee… no awareness whatsoever. He'd definitely be fired.
Qian Renxue chuckled. "Respected referee, let me ask you one thing—did he die?"
The referee paused and looked back at Ma Hongjun, who was still breathing. Definitely not dead. There was still time to save him.
"Did I cripple Ma Hongjun?"
The referee turned again. Ma Hongjun didn't appear to be missing any limbs. Internal injuries? Maybe. But nothing visible.
"So then, did I violate any tournament rules?"
"Brother-in-law is so cool!"
Before stepping onstage, Qian Renxue had used some of his soul power to heal Shui Yue'er, the adorable sister-in-law who had been kicked unconscious by Xiao Wu. She was awake now and her eyes sparkled as she stared at Qian Renxue onstage.
Shui Bing'er glanced around—Snow Dance, Gu Qingbo, Qiu Ruoshui... they all wore dreamy expressions like Shui Yue'er. With a sigh, she shook her head.
Only the Tianshui girls looked lovestruck. Among the other academies—aside from Heaven Dou Second Team—no one else dared admire Qian Renxue. Not the seven girls from Botany Academy, nor Huo Wu from Blazing Fire, nor Meng Yiran from Beast Academy.
Why? Because Qian Renxue was terrifying. He had even brutally beaten Xiao Wu—whose looks surpassed any girl here. No sane woman would dare fall for someone like that. They weren't masochists.
As for why Heaven Dou Second Team was excluded—well, at that moment, both Ning Rongrong and Zhu Zhuqing were staring at Qian Renxue in shock. As girls, they were highly perceptive.
Qian Renxue's words, his calm demeanor, his tone—it was almost identical to what Tang San had said in the first match of the original timeline, when Shrek had crushed Heaven Dou Second Team in under a minute.
But neither Ning Rongrong nor Zhu Zhuqing believed this person was Tang San. After all, their own Tang San was standing right there. How could he have reincarnated too?
One jumped off a cliff from Tang Sect in Sichuan, the other was the reincarnation of a God King—too absurd for anyone to imagine.
The referee looked from one side to the other, uncertain what to do. Fortunately, the soul screen made the next call: Heaven Dou Second Team's next participant—Dai Mubai.
Even with mental prep, Dai Mubai felt immense pressure as he slowly walked to the stage, steps shaky.
Once there, the referee gave the signal and Dai Mubai summoned his spirit—two yellow, two purple rings. Evil-Eyed White Tiger. Spirit power: Level 41.
"Begin." At the call, Dai Mubai's fourth ring lit up. His body glowed golden.
"White Tiger Meteor Shower!"
He started off with his strongest skill. Golden light erupted from him, and countless fist-sized golden orbs locked onto Qian Renxue and launched forward.
It seemed there were no openings. Qian Renxue would either have to block or dodge.
But with his Purple Demon Eye at its peak and mastery of Ghost Shadow Perplexing Track, Qian Renxue had a third option.
He danced through the storm of light with ghostlike grace, twisting his neck and body in unnatural ways to dodge every strike.
Dai Mubai's pupils dilated. Was this something a human could even do!?
As soon as he avoided the barrage, Qian Renxue rushed in, just like with Ma Hongjun—pure physical combat.
"White Tiger Vajra Transformation!"
Dai Mubai activated his third soul skill. His muscles exploded in size, tearing through his shirt. His claws turned silver.
His arms were three to four times thicker than Qian Renxue's.
With White Tiger Vajra Transformation and Protective Barrier, he had two layers of buffs. Now he dared go head-to-head. His huge fist met Qian Renxue's.
BOOM!
Then crack!—the sound of bone breaking echoed. Dai Mubai's entire right arm twisted grotesquely.
Despite the boosts, Dai Mubai still wasn't as strong as Feng Xiaotian after multiple power-ups. Feng had to retreat when facing Qian Renxue in melee—and Qian Renxue hadn't even used full strength back then.
Before Dai Mubai could scream, Qian Renxue's spinning left fist slammed into his left chest. His chest caved in, and he was launched like a soccer ball—no time to even cry out.
The golden light of Vajra Transformation and Protective Barrier surrounded his flying body like special effects, just like at the Soto Arena.
Qian Renxue had once broken his barrier—now, he shattered both it and the Vajra state in one punch. That was the power of the evolved Blue Silver Emperor, boosted by vast life energy and reinforced by Tang San's Eight Spider Lances.
Also, Qian Renxue was now level 53—up from 47. Dai Mubai had only risen from 36 to 41. The gap had widened in every way.
BOOM!
Dai Mubai's upper body slammed into the broken arena wall. His left chest caved in, his left arm limp, half his shoulder shattered, his back bloodied. Who knew how many ribs were broken. He was barely breathing.
If Qian Renxue had aimed slightly differently, even that could've killed him.
After finishing him with just two punches, Qian Renxue calmly returned to his original position.
"Next."
