At the National Culinary Arts Association headquarters, late afternoon sunlight spilled across the long conference table. Files were neatly stacked in front of Zhang Rui, who had just finished organizing the documents from the most recent assessments.
He slid one folder across to Duan Shengwei, the head of the association. "Chairman Duan, this is the record of Gu Mianmian's oral assessment."
Duan adjusted his glasses and opened the folder. His gaze moved down the neat transcript of questions and answers. "She's the candidate from Hwang City, yes?"
"Yes.." Zhang Rui confirmed. "She runs a small restaurant, self-taught for the most part. No academy background, but she's been gaining some local recognition. During the assessment, she was asked to explain classical preparation methods, discuss ingredient sourcing, and defend her understanding of balance in Chinese cuisine."
Duan's brow lifted faintly. "And your impression?"
