Chapter 16 - 16 Grandfather, son and mule

An old grandfather, his son and a mule set out for the city. The grandfather himself did not think it proper to ride a mule, so he made his son ride the mule and he himself followed. On the way, people saw him and said: "Look at this worthless boy! He is young, yet he sits comfortably on a mule, and the poor old father walks on foot!"

The son and father heard this. The son got off the mule and made the grandfather sit on the mule. Then they went a little further and other people saw him and said: "Oh, how cruel this old man is! He lets the young boy get tired, and he himself rides the mule!"

Now both of them thought that maybe both of them should ride on the mule. So the grandfather and the son both got on the mule. When the third person saw it, he said: "Oh Ram! How can these two people oppress a poor, helpless animal? Its back will break!"

Now both of them got down and thought, "No one will say anything now." Both of them started walking and also made the mule follow them. When the people saw this, they laughed: "Look at these fools! There is a good animal, but no one sits on it! Two fools are walking and the mule is walking empty!"

Hearing this, the grandfather said to his son: "Son, there is a lesson to be taught. If you want to keep the world happy, then no one will be happy. Do what your conscience thinks is right, be fair and that's it."

Moral: People will always say something. Don't base your decisions on the criticism or praise of others. Do what you think is right, with your own thoughts, justice, and good sense.
