That's why not having any attribute right now will help me learn more than one.
If I time it right...
If I control it well...
I can imprint as many attributes as possible before my core fully forms.
That's how I'll grow stronger.
That's how I'll survive.
That's how I'll win.
I dashed toward the Mutated Fang Wolf, my feet pounding against the ground with reckless resolve.
As I ran, I closed my eyes.
The key isn't brute force—it's belief.
I had to imagine the desired attribute...
Not just imagine—become it.
Wolves… like any beast, they fear fire.
I know what attribute I need right now.
I pictured the infernal fragments in the air—embers from something ancient—drifting, coiling, then sinking into me.
A sudden warmth bloomed inside me.
Not burning—igniting.
It flowed, threading through invisible mana veins, racing toward the core forming deep in my being.
And then—
[A new Attribute detected]
My eyes snapped open, the beast now mere steps away.
It's working. The system… it recognized it.
[Attribute Detected: Infernal]
A smirk tugged at my lips.
Good.
But then I noticed something strange.
The beast—it wasn't moving.
Frozen. Still. Not out of confidence, but desperation.
Its eyes screamed to run, but its body disobeyed.
Like it was being bound.
I don't know why. But this… this is my chance.
[Magic Learned: Flame]
I focused, channeling every ounce of mana into my right fist. I imagined it catching fire—like I was lighting a furnace from within.
And then—ignition.
My hand exploded in flames, flickering wildly as I lunged forward.
I drove my blazing fist straight into the beast's gut—its weakest point. The impact sent a shockwave through the air as my fire scorched into its flesh.
It didn't even flinch.
Just stood there, helpless… as if some unseen force held it captive.
With a heavy blast, its massive body was flung backwards—crashing into the rocky ground.
I lowered my fist slowly, the flames hissing away. Smoke rose from the charred marks across my knuckles.
The beast lay still, a massive burn etched deep into its belly.
[You have slain a Bloodhowl Fang Wolf (Rank V – Horror Class)]
I stood there. Breathing. Watching.
"Finally… it was over."
My hand trembled slightly. I looked down.
"I killed it…"
No—if that thing had so much as grazed me, I'd be dead.
Something held it back.
I dusted the dirt off my arms, steadying my breath. Then turned to face the true reason I came here.
The rock.
Still sitting there. Quiet. Menacing.
But glowing faintly—like it was watching.
I walked up to it, close enough to feel its heat.
My fingers reached out, brushing against its jagged surface.
"It's still warm…"
But this wasn't just a rock.
It was an asteroid but no ordinary asteroid.
It landed today—1:23 a.m.
And inside it—
The Soul of God.
Not metaphorical. Not symbolic.
Literally—the Soul of God.
Not the rock itself, but the glowing core within it.
A radiant sphere of swirling blue light…
"I have to take the Sphere out of it."
The sphere is quite hot but I can still touch it because of the Infernal attribute that I just learned. It increases my resistance toward fire.
After some struggle, the rock flipped over.
"....."
....W-What?
There was a hole under the rock— And the sphere that I expected to be inside it was missing....
What is happening?? This wasn't a part of the story.
The Arcane Bureau of Investigation (ABI) was supposed to come here to investigate a few hours from now.
Did they come here before me?
No—This wasn't supposed to happen.
Does it means that my advantages on knowing the whole plot of the story is useless?
For now I can't do anything but holding my head....
