Chapter 63 - DB | Ch: 63

Parry, parry, parry.

Lisette fought desperately to deflect Mira's relentless assault, searching for an opening, but not a single ray of hope broke through. While Cell was managing to hold Hatchiyack at bay, Mira alone was a more than capable adversary.

She was fundamentally outclassed. The gap in their physical strength and ki was so vast it reminded her of the nightmare struggle against Broly. Furthermore, unlike Broly, Mira was a highly disciplined fighter. His technical skill was immense, making it nearly impossible for her to land a clean counter. Even with her entire martial repertoire mobilized, she was barely keeping her head above water.

The fact that she was still standing was a testament to her skill, but the scales of victory were tipped decisively against her.

Mira's uppercut launched Lisette into the air. In that instant, she forced her body to go limp, spinning mid-flight to bleed off the kinetic energy. Without losing momentum, she whipped her leg upward in a targeted strike to his groin.

"Ngh! You... again?!"

Mira hissed through gritted teeth as he immediately retaliated, his heavy fist slamming into Lisette's slight frame and sending her hurtling backward. Again, she relaxed her muscles to roll with the blow, landing softly on her feet.

However, the sheer force she couldn't deflect took its toll. A thin trail of blood trickled from the corner of her mouth. She wiped it away with her thumb, maintaining a calm, stoic exterior.

Targeting vitals isn't enough to put him down, either... I'm in real trouble here, she thought, her internal voice weary as she calculated her next move.

She immediately ruled out massive ki expenditures like her Raging Blast or Sparking Meteor. At this stage, they would only drain her for no guaranteed gain. A flurry of ki blasts was out of the question, and her psychic abilities were proving ineffective. Even her close-quarters pressure point strikes were failing to penetrate.

To make matters worse, Hatchiyack was still a factor. Cell was doing his best, but the strain was showing. Occasionally, Hatchiyack's stray attacks would fly her way, making an already suffocating fight even more unbearable.

"Mira, how long are you going to play around? Finish it already."

Towa hovered behind Lisette, her staff held at the ready. Just as the odds were looking impossible, the demon scientist decided to join the fray. Her power was an unknown variable, but she certainly wasn't weak. The battle had officially crossed the threshold into the unwinnable.

"Take this!"

Towa unleashed a volley of ki, which Lisette caught on her barrier. But Mira closed the distance instantly, forcing her to dodge a kick only to be met by another burst from Towa. Their coordination was seamless—a perfect combination of long-range pressure and close-quarters aggression. Lisette was left with no room to breathe, let alone counterattack.

Driven into a corner, her guard finally slipped. Mira's fist connected squarely, sent her flying across the battlefield. Just before she hit the palace ruins, Cell caught her, bracing her impact.

"Are you alright?"

"No, I wouldn't go that far. And you?"

"The same. That Hatchiyack creature is more than I can handle alone."

It seemed Cell was faring no better. It was only natural; in terms of raw power, Hatchiyack was a monster on par with Broly. If they could just take one of them down, hope might return—but the reality was that either one of their opponents was a match for Lisette and Cell combined. With three of them on the field, the conversation shifted from "how do we win" to "how do we escape."

But Cell seemed to have a final card to play. He spoke to Lisette via telepathy.

Listen to me, Lisette. There is only one way to turn this around. You must use the faith gathered from across the universe.

...I find it hard to believe that would be enough to win.

It is. If the mere grudge of the Tuffles against the Saiyans can pull out this much power, then the collective faith of the universe directed toward you is incomparable. If you can make that power your own, just as Hatchiyack does with malice, victory is certain.

Lisette struggled to accept his logic. In the world of Dragon Ball, strength was fundamentally a matter of ki—of raw physical and spiritual force. While magic and psychic powers existed, brawn usually decided the day. Bringing "faith" and "grudges" into the equation felt foreign and unreliable. She had never heard of someone getting stronger just because people believed in them.

Faith is merely the catalyst, Cell countered. Using that power as a springboard, you can ascend into the true realm of the gods.

I'm sorry, but I haven't the slightest idea how to 'use' faith.

You have a technique based on the Spirit Bomb—one that gathers the energy of others and converts it into your own. Use that principle. Call out to the cosmos.

Cell was referring to her pseudo-Spirit Bomb. While she used it passively to sustain herself on solar energy without needing food, she had only truly weaponized it once: to clean up the Tree of Might seeds Turles had sown.

Now that she thought about it, it was strange. Even if it was an imitation, that technique was a proven power-booster. Yet, she had never felt the urge to use it—not against Cooler, not against Bojack, and not even against Broly. Those had all been desperate battles against superior foes. The technique could have shifted the momentum, if not won the fight outright.

Why hadn't she used it?

A flicker of primal fear crossed her mind.

Am I... afraid? I see. I was scared of it. That trance I fall into when I use it in earnest... it's as if I stop being myself.

That was the root of her hesitation. When she truly tapped into that power, Lisette entered a deep, alien state of mind. An uncharacteristic, overwhelming love for the Earth and all its inhabitants would swell within her, a protective urge so strong it threatened to overwrite her personality. In the fight against Turles, it hadn't been so severe, but she couldn't guarantee she would always remain in control.

She hated that feeling. And the idea of drawing in the faith of the entire universe...

...That technique is flawed. It's too dangerous to use.

You are wrong, Cell insisted, his mental voice growing more fervent. It is a masterpiece you created unintentionally—an ultimate technique that surpasses the original Spirit Bomb. It's too perfect to be an accident. You think you stumbled upon it, but you were destined to find it. The universe chose you. Even I cannot replicate that technique, for I am not the chosen one.

And you want me to use it here?

It is our only chance.

There was a strange heat in Cell's telepathy. It was a familiar intensity—the same near-maniacal look he'd had after the battle with Meta-Cooler. That expectant, hungry gaze. This man was still hiding something from her.

"What are you two whispering about? Ah, let me guess. Are you hoping Goku and his friends will destroy the gas emitters on Earth and come flying to your rescue like heroes in a story? Hehe... I'm afraid that's quite impossible."

"What did you say?"

"See for yourself."

Towa, misinterpreting their silence as a desperate hope for reinforcements, laughed and projected an image into the air. Lisette looked up, briefly noting how useful that magic looked.

The image showed Goku and the others struggling against a horde of Ghost Warriors. But the lineup was wrong. According to Lisette's knowledge, the ghosts should have been Frieza, Cooler, Turles, and Lord Slug. Instead, Turles and Slug were missing, replaced by Bojack's Hera Clan and Paragus.

"This... how...?"

"I found some much more interesting souls to work with," Towa purred. "I guided their grudges. And as you can see, Goku is in no position to help you. In fact, at this rate, they'll all be slaughtered."

Lisette bit her lip, her expression darkening. This was a nightmare. Her plan had been for her and Cell to eliminate the core threat on the Dark Planet while Goku's team handled the Earth-side cleanup before joining them to finish Hatchiyack. Instead, the enemy had divided their forces. They had been given a perfect opportunity to pick them off one by one.

Between Namek and now, these two demons were experts at dismantling her strategies. The Hera Clan was especially dangerous. While Goku could handle Frieza with ease now, Bojack was a different story—he was a fighter who required Goku's absolute best to defeat. Worse, the Hera Clan excelled at team tactics.

Even with Super Saiyan 2 Gohan on their side, it wasn't a guaranteed win. The image showed Gohan tearing through the Hera Clan with the same ferocity he'd shown in the movies, but there was a catch: Ghost Warriors could regenerate.

The projection showed a revived Bojack knocking Vegeta aside while the rest of the Hera Clan swarmed Gohan, slowly whittling down his stamina. At this rate, total annihilation for the heroes was a distinct possibility.

...The only small mercy was that Broly wasn't among them. It seemed even Hatchiyack couldn't manifest a ghost of someone stronger than itself.

Now you see, Lisette, Cell's voice echoed in her mind. Only you can save the Earth. Even if I am wrong about the 'divine realm,' it will still provide a massive power boost. You have nothing to lose.

...I suppose you're right.

She still didn't fully trust Cell's claims. But as a last resort, the technique was their strongest move. It would make her strong enough to break the stalemate. Whatever Cell's endgame was, she wouldn't live to see it if Mira killed her here. And more importantly, she couldn't let Goku and the others die.

She had to decide. She was the only one who could end this. To repel the demons, destroy Hatchiyack, and save Earth—to achieve that miracle, she couldn't afford to be afraid of a "flaw."

Lisette chose to break the stalemate. She made her choice.

"...Xenoverse."

She whispered the name of the technique and closed her eyes. Folding her hands in prayer, she allowed her consciousness to dive deep within. Mira and Hatchiyack lunged at her, sensing the shift, but Cell—now split into four clones—blocked their path, shielding her.

Lisette's mind sank further, entering a complete state of trance.

Earth. The Solar System. The Galaxy. The Universe...

She unleashed her superhuman sensory range, which had grown to perceive things hundreds of light-years away, and projected her consciousness across the vast expanse of space. No, by utilizing subspace, her perception was no longer bound by distance. She spread her awareness across the entirety of Universe 7, feeling every single spark of life simultaneously.

She transcended the limits of human perception, absorbing the light of every living thing and converting the faith directed toward her into raw power.

(...No! Stop! Any more and... I'll stop being me! The faith... there's too much of it! It's overwhelming me! I'm being rewritten... I have to stop the technique...)

It was too much. The faith was so concentrated it was becoming toxic. Lisette realized she had to abort. Her power had already increased significantly—it wasn't at its peak, but it was enough to fight.

She had to stop. Her fear had been justified. This wasn't a "Spirit Bomb imitation." In trying to mimic it, she had created something entirely different. It was uncontrollable, beyond her mastery.

But then, a cold voice—unlike any version of Cell she had ever heard—reached her ears.

"You must not stop."

Something was jammed onto the forehead of the defenseless Lisette. She couldn't see what it was, but she recognized the device in Cell's hand. It was the controller Bulma had designed to neutralize Broly.

"Wha... that's...?!"

"You thought it was destroyed? Heh. Naive. Did you think your future self wouldn't consider the same plan? In the future, Broly became too powerful for this trinket to hold him, so it was discarded. But you... you can still be contained. And since I possess your cells, this device—which only responds to your ki—is mine to command!"

"Cell! What are you...!"

Lisette panicked as Cell's mask of civility finally dropped. She reached up to tear the device from her forehead, but she was too late. She was two steps behind.

Cell wore a grin of pure, cold ambition as he issued his command.

"Now, continue the technique! Step into the unknown realm beyond the reach of faith!"

"---! ...Y-Yes..."

As the command took hold, the light vanished from Lisette's eyes. The technique she had deemed a failure reactivated with terrifying efficiency. She channeled the ki and faith of the entire universe into her being.

Long ago, there was a legend among the Saiyans. Five righteous Saiyans surrounding a sixth to birth a Saiyan God. Righteous prayer and concentrated power can shift a mortal into the divine.

---I feel love.

I wish to protect the lives in this universe, those struggling to survive this moment.

Before creation, there must be destruction.

After destruction, there can be creation.

Destruction and creation are two sides of the same coin.

To protect this world, I must first break it.

I will annihilate all that is evil, and then I will sow the seeds.

The God of Destruction was in a deep slumber, and the God of Creation had long since lost his power. Therefore, both destruction and creation would reside in her hands.

Bathed in faith, her soul shifted. She ascended to a higher plane of existence. Her ki became perfectly transparent—imperceptible to anyone who did not already stand in the realm of the gods.

When Lisette's prayer ended, she was no longer the girl she had been moments before. Her physical appearance hadn't changed drastically; she was enveloped in a white radiance reminiscent of a Spirit Bomb, but her features remained her own. The only striking difference was that her white wings had vanished, replaced by a shimmering, glowing halo.

But her presence was astronomical. It felt as if an entire universe had taken human form and was standing there. The sheer, impossible weight of her existence was stifling.

"Hmph... another pathetic transformation. I can't even feel a trace of ki... you think you can beat me with a parlor trick?"

Mira laughed disparagingly, though he was covered in a cold sweat. Ignoring Towa's desperate warning—for she had realized the danger first—he lunged forward, throwing a punch with everything he had.

「...」

"Ngh!"

Lisette opened her eyes. She didn't flinch as the punch connected. Her eyes were now a piercing, liquid silver. In them, Mira was reflected not as a warrior, but as an insect.

A divine gaze looking down at a gnat. Enraged by the insult, Mira unleashed a frantic barrage of strikes. None of them worked. They were hitting her squarely, yet they carried no weight, no impact.

Watching the pathetic display, Cell laughed with genuine derision.

"Fool. You really can't see that she is far beyond your reach? Well, you served your purpose. You pushed her right where I needed her... for that, I offer my thanks, you time-traveling clown."

As if to confirm Cell's words, Lisette made a casual motion with her hand. It was a simple, effortless swat, like one would use to shoo away a fly.

With that single motion, the right half of Mira's body ceased to exist.

Mira was in too much shock even to scream. Towa, on the other hand, shrieked in horror.

"Mira?! No! Mira! My Miraaaa!!"

「...」

Lisette turned her emotionless gaze toward the weeping Towa and raised her hand. There was no mercy for evil. No hesitation toward those who threatened life. Her eyes saw Towa and Mira, but she was not looking at them. To her current self, they were merely dust to be swept away.

Hatchiyack, a mass of pure grudge, launched a sneak attack from behind. He was beneath her notice.

Without turning around—as if her body were moving on its own accord—she evaded Hatchiyack's fist and turned her palm toward him.

「---Purification (Hakai).」

She whispered a single word.

With that, Hatchiyack let out a final, agonizing shriek and vanished. He was erased so completely that not even a fragment of his mechanical shell remained. In the fraction of a second he had bought her, Towa activated her time-leap and fled the era.

「...」

Lisette watched them vanish, tilting her head slightly. Perhaps she was wondering what kind of strange technique allowed them to disappear from the universe entirely.

But it didn't matter. There was other evil to be purged. For her current self, that was the only priority.

Her destination: Earth.

It was the beloved planet she was sworn to protect, but a swarm of vermin had lived there for far too long. The "Saiyans"—a cosmic cancer—lived there as if they owned the place, ignoring their past sins.

...They had to be erased.

To protect her beloved universe, all evil must be removed. Lisette took flight, leaving a trail of brilliant white light as she streaked across the cosmos toward Earth.

"...Magnificent!!"

Cell watched her go, trembling with ecstatic joy.

"Exactly as I predicted... no, even better! This is it! The ultimate existence that transcends perfection!"

Finally. At long last... his plan was at checkmate.

Data Archive: The Aftermath & The New Threat

The "Clean" Cell: Don't be fooled—there's no such thing as a "good" Cell. His gentlemanly act was a long-con to manipulate Lisette into this state.

Ghost Broly: Hatchiyack was unable to manifest a ghost of Broly because Broly's power exceeded the machine's capacity. Ghost Paragus was summoned instead.

Xenoverse: This wasn't a Spirit Bomb. It was a method to create a "Super Saiyan God" equivalent for a non-Saiyan. By gathering universal faith rather than just energy, it shifts the soul into the divine realm. Lisette's "flaw" was that she didn't realize she was writing a completely different "thesis" than the one she intended.

God-Domain Lisette: Her power is now unmeasurable by standard scouters (estimated at 22 Trillion). She has entered the "Realm of the Gods" where her ki cannot be sensed by mortals. She is currently on par with the likes of Beerus. She now utilizes "Hakai" (Destruction/Purification).
