"They… they like it," Lira murmured. "Maybe they eat only certain crystals and fruits here."
Serelyth chuckled, a low, amused rumble. "They're more intelligent than they seem. Observing, testing, learning. That's why they survive in a floating world like this. Careful, though — don't let them think you're prey."
Lira adjusted her bag, leaving some fruit behind on a safe, flat surface. The creatures swarmed briefly, tasting, chirping, and then scattered gracefully into the air. Their translucent wings caught the light, refracting it in beautiful patterns across the island.
"It's incredible," Lira breathed. "Every world has its guardians. These… dragons… they belong here. They're tied to the crystals."
