Chapter 46 - The Search for Broly

Kai stood on Earth, idly staring up at the sky. He had been getting restless lately. His training with the Z-Fighters had been progressing well, but something felt off. It wasn't a threat—nothing immediate—but a feeling, a nagging awareness. It had been too quiet for too long.

His thoughts wandered back to Planet Vampa. Broly.

He hadn't thought about Broly much since the Namekian ordeal, but now that the thought had planted itself in his mind, it wouldn't leave.

A flicker of impatience crossed his face. There was no reason to stay on Earth, not when he could be elsewhere. He glanced at the horizon and then at the vast emptiness of the cosmos.

With a snap of his fingers, Kai vanished from Earth, his body instantly adapting to the freezing cold of space as he shot into the vacuum. His first few moments felt sharp, like needles pricking at his skin, but soon his body adjusted. The cold that would've frozen him solid moments ago barely registered now.

As his body adapted to space, he pushed on, soaring faster than light, his eyes scanning the distant stars for any sign of Planet Vampa.

His thoughts turned inward for a second. 'What am I doing?'

He shook it off, trusting his instincts. He had sensed Broly before. He could do it again.

Kai's senses honed in on something—a powerful presence. He felt a faint pulse of energy, then another, followed by a low, deep power he could recognize anywhere. Broly. There was no mistaking it.

His system hummed again.

[DING]

[Destination Achieved: Planet Vampa]

[Arriving at Coordinates: Planet Vampa – Proximity: 0.5 Light Years]

It was a small planet, desolate with only the barest of life scattered across its surface. A harsh place. Perfect for someone like Broly.

As Kai touched down on the planet's surface, dust kicked up, and the planet's low gravity offered a light bounce with each step. He looked around and saw Paragus, the short man with the regal yet worn expression, standing near what appeared to be a small shelter made from the planet's meager resources. And there, sitting quietly, was Broly.

The young Saiyan's frame was smaller than most would expect, but there was a silent power emanating from him. His green eyes were half-closed, his expression almost serene, as though he were lost in a peaceful moment.

Kai raised an eyebrow. So, this is Broly. The one who could destroy an entire universe.

Without a word, Kai stepped forward, closing the distance between them. He didn't sense any aggression from Broly—just that familiar, latent power.

"Hey, Broly," Kai called out. "I felt your energy from a mile away. You're strong, kid."

Broly didn't respond. Instead, he only gave Kai a small, knowing smile, a glimmer of something more primal flickering in his eyes.

Paragus looked up sharply, then rushed forward, his hands raised in caution. "What are you doing here? This is no place for a—"

"I'm just a traveler," Kai interrupted, cutting him off. "I sensed power and came to check it out."

Paragus's expression hardened. "Leave. You're disturbing him."

Kai was unfazed, his smirk only growing. "I'm not disturbing anything. I just want to see what all the hype is about. Broly, I need you to get mad."

Broly simply tilted his head, his expression remaining the same, as if he didn't understand the request.

Paragus stepped forward, his hand snapping to a device at his belt. "I told you to leave. Broly doesn't need to be provoked." He clicked a button on the device, and a collar-like object wrapped around Broly's neck, the ends connected to a belt.

Kai's eyes narrowed. "That won't work."

As if on cue, Broly's eyes began to twitch. The faintest hint of irritation crossed his face. He stood up, the collar still buzzing with power, but nothing happened. Broly's anger didn't spike. He wasn't controlled.

Kai looked at the device, then back at Paragus with a shrug. "Not even close."

Suddenly, the system chimed again.

[DING][System Update: Voice Recorder – Error in Signal][Suggested Action: Attempt to Play Audio File]

A small device appeared in his hand: a voice recorder. Kai stared at it, confused. What was this for?

The system didn't explain further.

He clicked play.

A baby's cry filled the air.

The sound was sudden, jarring, and for a moment, there was nothing but the pure, raw emotion tied to that cry. Broly's eyes shot open, and a deep growl rumbled from his chest. His hands clenched into fists. His muscles rippled with sudden, intense tension.

Paragus stepped back, his expression frantically shifting. "No! Not this again!"

But it was too late.

Broly's roar shook the air as his power flared to life, his body growing more massive, his energy rippling in waves. He surged forward with the speed and ferocity of a wild animal, aiming straight for Kai.

Kai chuckled darkly. "Well, here we go."

And with that, the ground beneath them trembled as Broly launched himself at Kai, pure, unfiltered rage driving his every movement.
