Di Tian stared at Jiang Shengyu. Only after a long silence did he finally speak:
"I need a drop of your blood."
Following Di Tian's instructions, Jiang Shengyu handed over what he needed.
As he watched Di Tian construct a new sealing array and inscribe it into the bodies of the four still-living Titled Douluo, Jiang Shengyu asked curiously:
"That's all it takes?"
Di Tian nodded.
"That will suffice."
Jiang Shengyu pressed further:
"There won't be any issues, right? What if that fellow 'Du Busi' captures me and forces me to open the seal?"
Di Tian shot him a sidelong glance.
"You're carrying at least thirteen of those so-called rank 9 soul tools made by humans. He could capture you? At that point I wouldn't know whether to praise him for being strong… or call you useless."
Jiang Shengyu retorted,
"Three of those are for my sister. I only have ten on me."
Di Tian looked at him.
"That's enough. Even for me, stripping you of those ten linked rank 9 soul tools would take some effort. As for that 'Du Busi'? Forget it."
Jiang Shengyu couldn't help but click his tongue in astonishment. These were ten interlinked, auto-triggering rank 9 soul tools personally crafted by Kong Deming! And yet in Di Tian's eyes, dismantling them would only take "a little time"?
In this era, Di Tian was indeed still the unquestionable pinnacle of ultimate combat power.
Looking at Jiang Shengyu's stunned expression, Di Tian said evenly:
"Enough. I've already delivered the Reverse Scale. It's time I returned. Boy, cooperating with us is no simple matter. I will do my best to assist you—but I expect you to deliver results that satisfy us."
Jiang Shengyu bowed with fists clasped, his expression solemn:
"Senior Di Tian, rest assured. One day, I will reform the way soul masters cultivate! I will rebuild the order of this world!"
Di Tian snorted.
"Don't spout big words."
Leaving only this sentence behind, he stepped into a spatial rift and vanished.
Elsewhere, the battle between Jing Hongchen and Du Busi still had yet to yield a victor.
Although Du Busi possessed the cultivation of a Level 98 Super Douluo, Jing Hongchen was equipped with a full set of top-tier rank 9 soul tools—he was by no means at a disadvantage! The clash between the two great powerhouses in midair shook Yueming City, alarming Yan Shaozhe within.
When the Radiant Phoenix streaked into the battlefield and forced the two apart, the fight finally came to a halt.
Yan Shaozhe looked toward Jing Hongchen, frowning.
"Hall Master Hongchen, what is going on here?"
Jing Hongchen gestured toward Poison Undying, his voice grave:
"Dean Yan, you'll have to ask him."
Hearing this, Yan Shaozhe turned toward Du Busi, his expression solemn.
"Sect Master Du, as the leader of the Body Sect, why would you ambush the team from the Sun Moon Imperial Soul Engineering Academy here? Do you not know that they came under agreement with Shrek Academy?"
Du Busi snorted.
"Of course I know. Otherwise, why would this old man choose to intercept them here of all places? I should be thanking your Shrek Academy for luring them out of Mingdu on my behalf!"
At these words, Yan Shaozhe's face darkened.
"Sect Master Du! Do you mean to treat Shrek Academy as if we are nothing? Back in the day—"
Du Busi cut him off with a cold glance.
"What 'back in the day'? Brat, with your meager abilities, you think you can lecture me? Where's Xuanzi? Call him out if you want to negotiate!"
Yan Shaozhe kept his expression firm.
"Elder Xuan is not here. I am the one responsible for the exchange students this time."
Du Busi shook his head.
"Then I have nothing more to say to you. Step aside! Don't obstruct this old man's business."
Yan Shaozhe stood his ground, voice heavy:
"Sect Master Du, are you determined to make an enemy of Shrek Academy? Hall Master Hongchen and the students of the Sun Moon Imperial Soul Engineering Academy were personally invited here by Elder Mu himself…"
"Mu En, that…"
At the mention of Mu En, Du Busi's pupils contracted, and he asked reflexively:
"That old fellow… he's still alive?"
But the moment those words left his mouth, Yan Shaozhe's face grew even darker. He immediately released his martial soul, nine soul rings rising around him—two yellow, two purple, and five black—hovering in rhythm before him.
Du Busi sneered.
"Boy, you think you can fight me?"
Even if Yan Shaozhe had been a level 98 Super Douluo like himself, Du Busi would not have flinched—let alone now, when Yan was only at level 95. Du Busi possessed three hundred-thousand-year soul rings, each providing power far beyond what a Super Douluo without a single hundred-thousand-year ring could muster.
Even Xuanzi was no match for him—what waves could Yan Shaozhe possibly stir?
Yan Shaozhe's expression grew even more solemn as he turned to Jing Hongchen.
"Hall Master Hongchen, it seems we'll have to join forces."
Jing Hongchen gave a slight nod, ready to strike at any moment.
Du Busi glanced at the two of them, then turned his gaze toward the direction Jiang Shengyu and the others had departed. After a brief moment of thought, he waved his hand dismissively.
"Forget it. This old man isn't here to fight. I came to take back one of my sect's disciples."
Though he didn't take Yan Shaozhe seriously, Shrek Academy was still Shrek Academy. The Body Sect had no need to provoke them needlessly—especially after hearing Mu En's name mentioned. Du Busi was unsure of Mu En's current condition, so he reined in his aggression.
Yan Shaozhe blinked, confused.
"One of your sect's disciples?"
He looked to Jing Hongchen for clarification.
Jing Hongchen explained the matter of Huo Yuhao's Body Spirit. Only then did Yan Shaozhe understand, nodding slowly.
"No wonder. The Body Sect has always considered every possessor of a Body Spirit on the continent to be one of their own."
Then he turned back to Du Busi.
"But Sect Master Du, have you asked that young friend Huo if he agrees?"
Du Busi answered calmly, as if it were already decided:
"I will take him as my personal disciple, and pass to him the Body Sect's seed of inheritance. With that, why would I need to worry about his refusal?"
The possibility that Huo Yuhao might reject him had never even crossed his mind.
He was a level 98 Super Douluo, with a very real chance of stepping into the realm of the Limit. Countless people dreamed of becoming his disciples.
How could a mere boy like Huo Yuhao, especially one with a Body Spirit, possibly turn down the Body Sect's invitation?
Jing Hongchen's expression darkened slightly at Du Busi's arrogance.
These soul masters from the original three nations of the Douluo Continent were certainly confident in their own legacies.
At that moment, a young, brash voice rang out from afar:
"Sorry, Senior—but Yuhao says he refuses!"
Everyone turned their heads toward the source of the voice.
Huo Yuhao and Jiang Shengyu were flying over, supported by their flight-type soul tools. Behind them trailed the five Titled Douluo from the Body Sect, whom Jiang Shengyu had in tow.
