"…No matter what, you would not be punished. However, this still does not answer the question. Was it a merit?"
Mo Seris nodded along, but he had secretly begun to fantasize about the Flower Visiting Pavilion. He could have a beautiful woman in his lap, with another playing a harp in the corner, and a third one performing a seductive dance. Then, the bedroom with Lady Rose…
Mo Yiren tilted his head, as he considered his own question. "So, you purchased at a higher price, a quarter over, but he is unusually active, and the product of two Warriors. Hmm. Perhaps the masters will find something. Perhaps." The old man's eyes cleared, and he turned around. "Where is that nurse!" he shouted behind him.
The sudden bellow pulled Mo Seris out of his daydreams and back to the present.
Mo Yiren smiled to himself. "As I said, we will have to wait to see if it is a merit after all."
Mo Seris smiled back, concealing his disdain.
So, you decided to give a whole lecture just to say this? As if you were contributing something new...
One of the back doors suddenly opened, and a nurse shuffled out, drawing their attention. She was a fat, middle-aged woman with large breasts and a nervous demeanor. Her gaze was fixed firmly on the floor, as she stood guiltily at attention.
"What are you being paid for?" Mo Yiren said, his voice harsh. "Go, go!" He gestured towards Mo Seris.
The nurse nodded, and meekly shuffled forward, navigating the cluttered room.
"If the delivery dies, then how are you going to repay us?" Mo Yiren shouted after her. "Your little life is not worth so much, ungrateful bitch! Ingrate! Probably sleeping on your shift, see if I don't ask around and find out!"
The nurse grew visibly red, but she did not respond, only tucking her head down further. She stopped expectantly in front of Mo Seris. He put the cradle out and she accepted it with both hands.
"This child is special. Do it in my sight, do it in the corner." Mo Yiren pointed to one of the corners of the room as he barked orders to the nurse. He continued to stare daggers, apparently not trusting her to nurse properly without his supervision.
She nodded and moved to the corner, sitting down on one of the chairs, before slipping her dress down and uncovering one of her large breasts.
Seeing her naked breast, there was no change in the expression of either Mo Seris or Mo Yiren, not even the slightest hint of lust.
As the nurse reached down into the cradle, she finally noticed the abnormal behavior that Naro was exhibiting. Her hands paused, as she struggled to understand what to do.
"Well?" Mo Yiren said sarcastically. "Pick it up!"
The nurse was galvanized by Mo Yiren's taunting, and she immediately grabbed Naro with both of her hands. She struggled for a moment with his squirming.
"Settle down, settle down," she cooed softly to him, rocking her arms back and forth.
"Just feed the child! Bring him to the breast and he'll know what to do." Mo Yiren said, shaking his head. He turned for a moment to Mo Seris. "Is one of the Houses playing games with our Sixth House?"
"With the Grand Elder behind us, nobody would take us lightly," Mo Seris said. "Take it as a sign of incompetence."
"I wonder if the other Houses still remember? Back thirty years ago, the Sixth House could move mountains with just a word. Now?" Mo Yiren slapped the documents in front of him. However, he was careful not to knock them over as he expressed his disgust.
