Chapter 19 - Chapter 19 Archive Log 37.1 Unknown Energy

Elderra Cosmic Circle 3925.

I was on my way to a destination where I could observe and research upon the feeling of need that most of all the sentient beings seem to possess. It was an interesting aspect of their lives I was really looking forward to record.

Full of anticipation, I was moving through systems and star zones in a straight line, passing by planets and stars, when out of the blue I felt a strange fluctuation of energy from my side.

I stopped in my tracks at once, as the energy signature emanating from the fluctuation was of unknown origin to me. I had never recorded anything that could have resembled it, nor did it remind me of something. It was simply fascinating.

To begin with, there aren't many things in the cosmos which were entirely unknown to me, and even those few that they were, they were just something new I hadn't yet recorded down. This energy, however, of which I could feel only its signature of, was something of amazing nature, something extraordinary.

It was so mystical, even for me, that I decided to make a detour and postpone my record of the sentient beings' need to own things for another time, changing my course of moving towards the unknown energy instead.

--------

Sometime later, I have reached the source of the unknown energy.

In front of me was a planet. Bigger than any other I have come across so far and with vibrant colors from its surface that were clearly visible from where I stood. Truly a marvel of the cosmos' astral bodies.

The energy which I could only feel its trace of at the beginning, now was abundant and powerful. It was so dense that it condensed into mist like currents floating and enveloping the planet. I was drawn by its uniqueness the moment I saw its majestic appearance, my gaze fixated on it and its deepest secrets, waiting to be unraveled begore me.

Peering through the mist of the atmosphere with my sight, I saw a beautiful and fascinating world. In comparison to the other worlds, I have visited so far, this one was of a different league of its own. It had landscapes of fantastic rock formations, ancient forests untouched by sentient beings and a variety of thriving ecosystems, each one more amazing than the other. There were mountains floating in midair, rivers leaving the ground, flowing upwards and trees tall enough to reach the clouds.

Peculiar and evolved creatures could be seen everywhere on the planet. Many of them I recognized to have similarities in their features with other, normal creatures I encountered on my travels.

The energy permitting the whole planet seemed to have helped them make a step or more towards the advancement of their species. Even plant life appeared to enormously benefit from it, as I could see for the first time ever plants that apparently gained intelligence, moving their roots or vines through the ground to move and hunt for food.

Before I could even enter the planet and observe more closely, I had already taken my Archive Log out and enthusiastically recorded everything I could lay my eyes on. Everywhere I laid my eyes to, there was something new to record down.

As I was darting my eyes in every spot of the planet and all my fingers were practically dancing as they were inputting characters in my Log, a figure chanced to enter my line of sight.

The moment I spotted it I was shocked. Not by its appearance, as it was a regular carbon-based humanoid with nothing special to be seen on it, but by the speed of its movement.

Where on other planets or worlds, they were running, riding a beast or a machine they had built to gain the maximum speed available to them, this individual was amazingly riding a sword and was flying across the air. Except for a race I had visited before, of which its own biology had evolved for personal speed and acceleration, helping them reach astonishing speeds, this individual's flying speed was the fastest I had ever witnessed.

I could not even begin to imagine the principles behind this phenomenon making this scene possible. I was so captivated by this mystery I followed the flying individual as it was flying through the air.

I kept track of it as it flew around gargantuan mountains, through lush forests and into masses of clouds. All the way until it reached some sort of gateway on a mountain range above the seas of white.

In my astonishment, behind the gates there was an array of buildings and facilities of different sizes and shapes, forming a small city built over the surrounding area. Many similar individuals with their swords could be seen flying in every direction. They resembled lost bees buzzing about as they aimlessly flew everywhere searching for flowers.

But even with the unknown energy being present in the form of mist, the things that completely drew my attention were the circles and symbols of glowing lines floating and turning above what I could only presume to be this place's main building. From them I could feel the aforementioned energy in its densest form so far, generating power and producing some sort of light curtain around the place.

This energy kept surprising me, both with its nature and uses. It seemed to be originated by the planet itself, permitting everywhere and influencing everything, altering its environments, plant life and wildlife alike.

The sentient beings of this planet also had been influenced by it. Their equipment and place of living so far were vastly different from the other places I had visited. The energy clearly was playing an important role in their lives, and I was eager to figure it out.

I was literally shivering from the excitement while I began my descend to the planet. If only my glimpse from afar could already let me witness such new wonders, I couldn't even fathom what I could witness and record from close proximity.
