Chapter 92 - Chapter 93 The 3th Start

Fastest update of "Clark in the Marvel Universe"!

"What's the situation? How much time is left?" Nick Fury asked as soon as he stepped off the helicopter.

"I'm not sure," Coulson replied, checking his watch. "But according to the doctor, the energy levels of the Tesseract are now nearly equal to what they were when Clark opened the space portal. So, it might still take ten minutes… or it might explode any second now."

"It seems our timing isn't ideal."

Hearing this, Fury raised an eyebrow and picked up his radio. "Move faster. I don't want to see whoever's coming out of that thing moving faster than you."

After giving his orders, the three of them headed toward the Tesseract testing chamber.

"By the way, you're sure no one's been near the Tesseract recently?" Fury still wasn't sure what happened the first time, but he had been present during the last activation.

Even though the exact cause of the Tesseract's self-activation was unclear, he suspected it had something to do with Clark or Diana.

As far as Fury was concerned, Clark was even more mysterious than the Cube itself—mainly because Clark bore such a striking resemblance to Superman from the DC universe.

And the last activation of the Tesseract? That was clearly connected to Clark.

"Hawkeye's been watching the whole time."

"Did he see what triggered the Tesseract?" Fury trusted Barton's eyes—after all, there was a reason S.H.I.E.L.D. gave him the codename "Hawkeye."

"You should probably ask him yourself." Coulson raised his radio and called out, "Barton, did you see anything unusual before the Tesseract activated?"

At that moment, Hawkeye Barton slid down from the ceiling of the lab on a cable.

"No one entered or exited. I kept my eyes on everyone in here," he said, scanning the busy lab. "They didn't interact with anyone or use anything they weren't supposed to. All our equipment is accounted for."

"Then it seems the issue lies on the other end," Fury said, even though he wasn't sure what that end was. That didn't stop him from taking action.

"Alright, everyone—I want you all to clear the area."

As heavily armed S.H.I.E.L.D. agents filed in, Fury stopped the researchers still trying to shut down the Cube and motioned for them to leave.

"I'd like to stay," Erik Selvig insisted. "This kind of phenomenon is extremely rare. I want to record as much data as I can."

Though Fury had ordered an evacuation, Erik had spent a lifetime studying the Tesseract. There was no way he'd just walk away now.

"…Fine. You can stay."

Maybe Fury figured that if something went wrong, having Erik on-site could help them understand what happened. After thinking it over, he agreed.

Once all other personnel had cleared out, S.H.I.E.L.D.'s tactical unit transformed the lab into a temporary battlefield.

Boom! Boom!

"Director! The energy is spiking!" someone shouted.

From behind the agents, Erik stared at the readings on his monitor—the Tesseract was about to open.

Coulson, anticipating what was about to happen, drew his gun and aimed it directly at the Cube.

BOOM!

A thunderous bang shook the ground under their feet.

Suddenly, a brilliant blue light erupted from the Tesseract. But instead of striking the far wall, it vanished midair—like it had opened a door to somewhere else.

Ripples of energy radiated outward from the spot where the light disappeared. Then, a cosmic star map slowly unfolded before their eyes.

But before they could get a good look at where the map led—it exploded.

BOOM!

The explosion wasn't powerful, but a violent gust of wind swept through the room, catching the agents off guard.

As the wind settled, everyone saw a steaming humanoid figure standing at the spot where the star map had been. He looked like a European man, long hair flowing, and held a tall scepter in one hand.

If Thor had been there, he would have recognized this man instantly: the brother he thought dead—Loki.

"Sir, could you please lower your weapon?" Fury asked cautiously. The figure didn't appear all that different from an Earthling. Thankfully, he seemed to understand English.

But if he didn't… things could get messy.

At the sound of Fury's voice, Loki slowly raised his head.

"…Huh?" Loki looked around, only to realize he was completely surrounded—over a hundred guns were aimed at him.

Something's wrong with the script! Loki was so startled by the reception that he wondered if he had misread the calendar and showed up on the wrong day.

As he debated whether to withdraw and try again later, the tip of his scepter—powered by the Mind Stone—emitted a faint glow.

Suddenly, a thought struck him. Why should I be afraid of these people? He had a scepter that rivaled Thor's hammer. If Thor could wreak havoc in Jotunheim, surely Loki didn't need to fear a bunch of Midgardians.

He glanced down at his scepter… and swung it hard.

A burst of blue energy radiated outward, hitting the S.H.I.E.L.D. agents around him.

BOOM!

All those struck were sent flying instantly. With a single move, Loki had completely broken the encirclement.

RATATATATATA!

A few S.H.I.E.L.D. agents who hadn't been hit opened fire—but what happened next made them despair.

Their bullets bounced harmlessly off Loki's body, not even scratching his skin.

Loki raised his scepter again, casting multiple magic missiles the size of serving platters. They exploded violently among the remaining agents—leaving no trace of them behind.

"Whew…" Loki admired his handiwork, then looked again at his scepter in awe. He hadn't expected it to make him this powerful.

Hmm? As he marveled, he noticed someone actually standing up from his previous attack.

"You're strong," Loki muttered, intrigued. If he was going to rule Midgard one day, he'd need capable followers. And this man seemed promising.

He pointed the scepter at Hawkeye's chest—and under the influence of the Mind Stone, Hawkeye became Loki's loyal servant.

At the same time Loki used the Mind Stone to open the Tesseract and arrive on Earth, Clark felt a strange surge in his body.

A faint energy pulse—one he hadn't noticed in a long time—suddenly began to stir inside him.

It was the Tesseract energy he had unknowingly absorbed. Though it had remained dormant, almost forgotten since he first absorbed it—it was now coming alive.
