Fastest update of "Clark in the Marvel Universe"!
"Swoosh! Swoosh!"
As Clark swung his right hand, a portal of light slowly appeared in front of him. Through it, he saw the familiar sight of Kamar-Taj, the place he had just left.
However, unlike the typical golden portals created by Kamar-Taj sorcerers, Clark's portal glowed blue—likely because he was drawing energy from the Tesseract, which itself was blue in color.
"Looks like you've learned to control the energy inside you quite well."
As Clark stepped through the portal, he heard the Ancient One's voice on the other side.
"Thank you, Master Ancient One. If not for you, I probably wouldn't have mastered this energy so quickly."
Although the Ancient One hadn't been willing to teach him actual spellcasting, Clark was still grateful. He believed that the concepts and theories of magic were far more valuable than the spells themselves.
"No need to thank me. I can sense a great catastrophe approaching Earth. I'm more than happy to help you in any way I can."
The Ancient One replied with a serene smile.
"By the way, Clark, are you interested in a magic duel? A battle using only magic?"
"With who?"Clark perked up with interest. He had just started learning magic, and the novelty made the idea of a sparring match quite appealing.
"Kaecilius."
"…Alright."Hearing that name, Clark felt a little suspicious about the Ancient One's motives—but he didn't mind. Since the magic came from her, he would honor whatever she asked of him.
"How about this afternoon?"
"Sounds good."
Later, at lunch—
"You're really going to duel someone using magic? Have you actually learned magic?"Diana had returned after being gone all morning.
"Of course I have. Do you know who I am?" Clark grinned. "Where were you all morning, anyway? I didn't see you when I got back."
Clark had planned to take Diana out for a walk to make up for leaving her alone. But after returning from his training, she was nowhere to be found. And at Kamar-Taj, his enhanced vision didn't help—too many hidden secrets in this place.
Plus, Diana wasn't familiar with the locals, so Clark was curious where she had wandered off to.
"I was in the library. There are some texts here that span thousands of years—information that doesn't exist online."
"Find anything useful?"
"Other than a few odd details, my world and this one seem pretty similar. What's strange is that both our worlds suffered devastating catastrophes in the past…"
"But after that, it's as if some invisible hand corrected the timeline and made everything line up again."
Clark stayed silent.
He wanted to tell her the truth—that it was because altering history is too complicated, so someone had forcibly synchronized the two timelines.
But Clark had no intention of revealing that he was a time traveler. So Diana would never know the real answer.
Diana, for her part, suspected a deep connection between the two worlds.Otherwise, how could their histories be so identical?
If she could uncover the truth, maybe she could find a way back to her original world. But she also knew—it wouldn't be easy.
"Anyway, enough of that. What's the deal with your duel this afternoon? I heard your opponent is the Ancient One's personal student. And the match will be magic only. You better be careful and not get smacked around."
Diana often joked like this with Clark, especially when she felt relaxed around him.
"You might miss out on an epic performance then," Clark laughed. "I may not have studied long, but I think I've got a knack for this magic thing."
Meanwhile, far away in India—
Dr. Bruce Banner was quietly living a new life when he was suddenly lured out into the open by a child—only to find Natasha Romanoff waiting for him.
"Who are you?"Banner sighed internally. He'd been found again.
After Clark brought him to Tony Stark's place, things had calmed down. Eventually, due to personal issues involving Betty, Banner left Tony and began wandering again.
He'd ended up in India, living as a doctor, where no one knew his identity as the Hulk.
Life here wasn't luxurious, but it brought him a peace he hadn't known in a long time. A full year of peace—now shattered.
"Natasha Romanoff."
"So, are you here to arrest me, Miss Romanoff?"Banner stared at her. A woman like her showing up here meant trouble.
He glanced at their surroundings. "Gotta say, luring me out of the city with a kid was clever. You should clear out the nearby crowd though—things might get messy if this turns violent. Are we surrounded?"
"No. It's just you and me. I'm here on behalf of S.H.I.E.L.D."Natasha took off her jacket and turned around to show she was unarmed.
"S.H.I.E.L.D.? I heard Tony and Clark mention you. So… is this the part where you try to capture me?"
Banner recalled conversations with Tony—S.H.I.E.L.D. was forming some kind of superpowered team.
"No. We need your help, Dr. Banner."Natasha emphasized the word "Doctor," making it clear they needed his mind, not the monster inside him.
She handed him a phone."This is about the Tesseract. It contains enough energy to blow up the entire planet. But now it's been stolen—by aliens. We need to find it."
"So we need your help, Dr. Banner. The Tesseract emits faint gamma radiation. But it's too weak for normal tech to detect. That's why we need you—the leading expert in the field."
"For Earth's sake… I'm asking you to help."
"Aliens? Does Clark know about this? Have you contacted him? What did he say?"
When he heard "planetary destruction," the first person Banner thought of was Clark. He couldn't help it—Clark had traumatized the Hulk so badly that even in his human form, Bruce subconsciously feared him.
"If Clark is involved," Banner thought, "maybe this won't be so bad."
"Yes, he knows. And we've contacted him. But he's busy at the moment—it may be a few more days before he joins us."
