Chapter 43 - Cold Shower

"And then Leo…"

Sebastian's voice trailed off.

He stared at the grill for a long second, tongs still in hand, flames reflecting in his eyes before he finally exhaled and shook his head.

"…yeah. I think it's better if Leo explains that part to you himself."

I stared at him. Deadpan.

Of course he'd stop there.

As if Leo would EVER talk honestly to me.

That guy would rather cartwheel through the office than open his mouth about his past.

But in the end, I just exhaled and gave up.

"Fine," I said, sipping my drink.

Sebastian smiled a little, then, like always, he immediately threw a new topic out as if a traumatic confession hadn't almost dropped five seconds ago.

"Anyway," he said while lifting his glass, "teach me boxing someday."

I looked at him. "Boxing?"

"Well, yeah. Who knows one day I'll need to defend myself from," he shrugged, "bad people."

I laughed. "Just come to the Slither Ring. I'll teach you."
