"Kai looked up, sensing a chill drifting toward him from the front."
A colossal snow beast.
A titan made of glaciers and ironwood. Thirty meters tall. Holding a warhammer made of frozen bones.
It roared.
A shockwave rolled over the battlefield.
And suddenly—everything charged at once.
Tens of thousands.
A white tsunami.
Kai narrowed his eyes.
"All or nothing."
He shot forward like a meteor, trailing flame. Ice monsters vaporized in his path. With every step, he launched plasma blasts, fireballs, even magma spikes.
One creature tried to stab him through the chest—he caught the weapon mid-air and melted it with his palm.
He launched into the air, forming a flaming platform beneath him with his heat, and rained down explosive fireballs like a one-man artillery strike.
The ground turned to molten glass wherever they landed.
Still, the numbers were too great.
He landed hard, fists blazing, and slammed them together.
"Nova Burst."
A shockwave of white-hot flame exploded outward, tearing across the landscape in every direction.
Hundreds fell instantly.
Thousands slowed.
But still more came.
He was panting now. His armor was cracked. Flame flickered at the edges.
The titan was getting closer.
It raised its hammer and hurled it like a missile.
Kai's eyes widened.
He fired two jets from his feet to dodge, barely avoiding the hammer as it slammed into the ground, shaking the battlefield.
From the impact crater, a wave of ice energy surged up and over—freezing dozens of dead monsters and nearly hitting Kai mid-air.
He twisted and ignited his core, shooting a narrow beam of focused heat—cutting through the energy wave like a blade, dispersing it before it touched him.
Then he rocketed toward the titan.
The final boss.
It roared and swung again.
Kai met it mid-strike with a flaming uppercut, slamming into its jaw.
Chunks of glacier exploded. The beast reeled.
He fired two plasma spears straight into its chest and launched himself behind its back.
The titan spun—and caught him mid-flight with a massive backhand.
BOOM.
Kai hit the ground hard, sliding across ice, leaving a steaming trail.
He staggered up, face burned, panting hard.
"Almost there…"
He raised his hand.
"Let's finish it."
He focused all remaining energy into a single point between his hands.
A superheated orb, like a small sun, formed. The entire battlefield trembled.
Even the monsters paused.
Kai roared and threw it with everything he had.
The orb slammed into the titan's chest—
BOOOOOOOM!!!
A pillar of molten light engulfed the giant. The explosion vaporized nearby monsters, cracked the earth for miles, and turned the battlefield into a sea of mist and ash.
When the smoke cleared—
Only Kai stood.
Exhausted.
Surrounded by steam and silence.
His flames flickered.
The Omnitrix beeped.
FLASH.
Back to human.
He collapsed to his knees, gasping, trembling.
"Still alive…"
He looked at the ruined battlefield.
Bodies of ice melting slowly into the snow.
"What now…?"
And then—
He heard it.
A whisper in the storm.
Not monstrous.
But familiar.
Calling his name.
"...Kai."
