Chapter 89 - Stupid.

Kane leisurely walked out of the dungeon, pondering why he was so lucky, or, on the contrary, was it bad luck? But how could it be bad luck if it benefited him, no matter how it looked from the outside? "Maybe the world is just on my side?"

Remembering everything that had happened to Коpii, it could be summed up in one word: horror. Betrayal, slavery, rape. But this was terrible only for Коpii, not for me. For me, these events were actually beneficial. After the last event, he actually gained control of the body.

"Maybe the world is on my side?" Kane wondered, already exiting the dungeon. As always, the noisy first floor of the Tower of Babel greeted him.

"Nothing new," he thought, making his way to the exit of the tower. But out of the corner of his eye, he noticed a rather rare sight. My gaze focused on a goddess who was sobbing while talking to someone.

Коpii had only seen a few times in his life as an adventurer when gods became too attached to their familia or to individual members of their familias. He had even heard that some gods or goddesses could fall in love with their own "child" – as some gods call their familia members.

It also happened the other way around, when familia members fell in love with their god or goddess. Коpii saw this picture every day.

Deciding that he had wasted enough time, he resumed his journey to the exit. But he stopped abruptly before exiting. Looking back, his gaze fell again on this goddess, who was slowly but surely calming down.

"Asking about that boy," he mused. "Maybe he was from her familia? If so, what face will she make when she learns that he's dead? Will it be distorted by a grimace of horror or despair? Or will she refuse to believe that it's true?" Kane became very interested in what would happen next.

Will he be lucky or not? But first, he needed to choose which sword to give her. I have two of them – so which one first? I didn't know for sure. The second one would be better. Maybe it will be neither one nor the other at all. But whatever.

He reduced the distance between him and the goddess, and she finally paid attention to me. Her eyes, red from tears, looked at me with a questioning gaze.

I tried my best to restrain my smile – such a face of a goddess brought me indescribable joy – but I managed to restrain myself and put on a grimace of sadness and sorrow. Handed her two swords.

Looking down at the swords, her eyes widened with horror. She snatched these two swords from my hands.

"AAAA!!! IT'S NOT TRUE!!! NOT TRUE!!!"

Her screams made me uncomfortable, but I didn't show it on my face in any way.

"Why?!" she said more muffled, without taking her eyes off the swords. She was trembling slightly.

"Why…"

While she was distracted, I simply ran away, because I don't need problems - we have already attracted too much attention. With each passing second, it became more and more difficult to watch her and control my smile, so I even covered it with my hand. And when I left the tower, I no longer restrained myself. There was a joyful smile on my face.

Not understanding why, but these scenes gave me such pleasure that I wanted to go back and tell her that it was I who killed them, tearing them into small pieces. Of course, one thing confused me: she recognized the two swords.

So, it turns out that they were on the same team? Oh well.

And in a good mood, he went home. But then he instantly came to his senses and went to the guild to exchange magic stones. He almost forgot about it. This was just the beginning of his fun.

Having quickly exchanged the magic stones for valis, I already wanted to leave, but I was stopped.

"Hello, Mr. Kopii."

Huh?

My gaze fell on a guild employee. I remembered her, but due to too little interaction with her, I didn't even remember her name. So I was a little confused, but quickly pulling myself together, I cleared my throat and spoke:

"Hello…"

"Are you okay?"

This question confused me a little.

"Excuse me?"

"Are your eyes black?"

Black?

Undoubtedly, my hand reached for my eyes, but immediately stopped halfway. How could I forget to put on my glasses? I took them off when I went down to the dungeon, for fear that I would break them in the heat of battle. But I had already forgiven myself that I could ever make a mistake, so I came up with a perfect excuse for this.

Smiling, I continued:

"Ah, it's nothing terrible, nothing at all. It only appeared recently, and I asked my god, and he said it was because of my skill. Besides physical changes, nothing serious… Well, actually, I'm not used to them yet."

"Ah… I see…"

I had already opened my mouth to say that I had to go, but words didn't even have time to fly out of my mouth before she got ahead of me:

"How is your descent going, Mr. Kopii?"

"Well, slowly but surely."

"What floor have you reached?"

"Twelfth floor."

"Have you found a team?"

"No."

"I see. So, I ask you not to go below this floor anymore. It's commendable that you reached the twelfth floor alone. But it can't go on like this. There are more and more monsters, and the strength differs quite significantly between floors. So, no matter how brilliant you are, Mr. Коpii, there is a limit to what one can achieve alone."

I just stared at her – everything she said went in one ear and out the other. That is, I absolutely didn't care what she was saying. I wanted only one thing - to finish this conversation as soon as possible. I just wanted to ignore her and leave, but it would be disrespectful to the guild.

And who knows, maybe they are vindictive bastards. After all, everyone knew that the guild possessed authority and a rather impressive word. If they say that you are to blame for killing someone in the dungeon, even if you didn't do it, everyone will care – everyone will consider you guilty, and you will be punished to the fullest extent for what you never committed.

So, he only had to put up with her emotionless speech and stone face. If it weren't for the twitching of her tail and ears, you would think she was a statue.

"Are you listening to me, Mr. Kopii?"

"Yes, I am listening to you carefully."

Well, looking at his bewildered face, she didn't really believe it, but there was nothing she could do about it. She could only give advice.

"All right then. I see that you still have work, I don't want to distract you from it any longer. Bye."

"Goodbye."

That's how we ended the conversation. Waving my hand at the end, I left the guild. My smile immediately disappeared—this conversation was quite boring and costly. I didn't want to waste time—I had a lot to do for today's events. And these empty words annoyed me quite strongly with their uselessness.

So, after the guild, my next goal was the blue pharmacy.

"Mom, he stinks."

Giving a glance at the boy, I passed by them - there was a slight disgust on their faces. Stretching out my hands, I showed them the middle finger.

"Go fuck yourself."

Saying this, I immediately continued on my way, but it changed slightly.

"I need to tidy myself up," Kane thought, returning home to take a shower.

Having done this and come up with the perfect excuse for why he has black eyes, all that was left for him was to play his new role well.

With these thoughts, I entered the blue pharmacy – nothing has changed here, as always. My main goal of arrival is to update the characteristics.
