Chapter 15 - As usual

Chapter 15

------

Cleara's perspective

" Damn it! Now I have to go back empty-handed and face his humiliation!"

I cursed under my breath, filled with rage and bitterness, as I walked angrily away from Sergia's room. I didn't really want to do it, but my master would punish me severely for failing to complete the task he had entrusted to me.

***********

"Am I really ugly?"

I muttered in a low voice full of doubt and self-doubt as I cleaned the small bathroom, looking at my pale reflection in the steamy mirror and wondering bitterly.

I wanted so badly to kill that little bastard Ruthvien and end his miserable life, but I was just a lowly maid. How could I raise my hand to strike a young master from a prestigious family?

"I know you hate me so much, but why?"

I knew full well that the young master harbored a deep hatred for me, but I was unable to understand the real reason behind this animosity. After all, I had taken care of him since he was a child until he grew up to become this despicable creature. I had saved him from countless terrible accidents that could have cost him his life.

Is this the reward for my loyalty and dedication to saving his life so many times? What a stupid, foolish, miserable master. No woman will ever love him in his miserable life.

I walked heavily to the small kitchen to prepare lunch for my stupid master, anger rising inside me like a dormant volcano.

" Cleara!"

I heard Mr. Ruthvien calling me, so I hurried to him with fear and hesitation.

"Yes, sir."

I bowed submissively after entering the small room and saw out of the corner of my eye that the young man in front of me was not wearing any clothes on the upper part of his body.

'Does he want me to do it again today? '

Ruthvien said with a sly smile on his small lips:

" As usual, you know very well what I want, don't you?"

"Sir. I really have a role in a play, I wasn't lying."

I tried to explain quickly, afraid of his anger.

"Really? Don't you want to say anything to me? Like, why did you send me to that man?"

Ruthvien laughed as he raised his finger toward me, motioning me to come closer.

I said immediately as I approached him quietly and fearfully:

"Of course not, sir. You are my master and I am your lowly servant."

Saying this made me feel extremely angry boiling inside me. After all, I was older than this spoiled boy named Ruthvien, but I had to treat him this way. Was this fair? Was it all because he was born into a wealthy family and I was just a poor girl?

"Hurry up!"

Ruthvien's annoying shouting pulled me out of my whirlwind of thoughts. I turned toward him to find him with his back to me, his face turned toward the wall.

His constant shouting drowned out the murmurs of despair and anger in my head, but something at the edge of the wooden bed caught my attention... a small, closed wooden box. I slowly and hesitantly reached out to open the heavy lid, and there... I saw the cold dagger, shining in the dim darkness like a distant star in the middle of the night.

I thought to myself as I heard conflicting voices arguing violently in my head:

- Do it now!

- Don't be stupid!

- He deserves it!

- He's tortured you enough!

I closed my eyes tightly... and felt the blood that had not yet been spilled staining my hands.

Should I do it? Will it work? Will I be able to escape after what I'm about to do?

I took a long, heavy breath, as if it were the last breath my lungs would ever take in this life.

I took a hesitant step... two steps... then in the blink of an eye.

I moved the dagger like an arrow, tearing his thin throat like thin paper. His warm blood flowed onto my hands before his heavy body fell onto the wooden bed!
