Aiden Knight's POV
I'm folding my newly printed banners when the apartment door swings open behind me.
"What are you doing?"
I don't look up at Chloe's sharp tone. "Preparing for work."
"Work?" She steps closer, eyeing the medical supplies I've laid out on her coffee table. Small glass vials, dried herbs, and a set of silver acupuncture needles gleam under the morning light. "Where did you get all this?"
"I have my sources." The truth is more complicated – some items came from the emergency kit my benefactor provided, others I purchased with the last of my hidden funds. "I told you I'd prove the formula works."
"By doing what exactly?" She picks up one of the banners and unfurls it. Her face goes pale as she reads. "Hands of God? Miracle Doctor? Aiden, this is insane."
"It's honest advertising."
"It's fraud!" She waves the banner like evidence in a courtroom. "You can't just set up a medical practice without licenses, certifications, insurance—"
