"SUSANOO!"
Hashirama's eyes widened. Turning around, a blue blur went past him—followed by a roaring explosion.
'This chakra…' Hashirama looked back at the piglin army. "MADARA! LEAVE! WE HAVE TO LEAVE, NOW!"
"What?!" At the battlefront, Madara suddenly halted. His perfect Susanoo was about to lunge forward, but now it looked a bit awkward.
Hashirama undid his jutsu. "We cannot waste chakra here, it won't recover! You still have chakra, right? Open the portal and…" He turned around.
"The portal?" Madara turned around. Where had he come from?
The portal wasn't there.

I slid back, holding a shield with barely a sliver of durability left. Without thinking much, I threw it at the ninja in front of me—who was dashing forward.
With a strike of his palm, the shield shattered into pieces. I raised my diamond sword, swinging it at him. He halted, pausing just in time to let the sword pass harmlessly. When he was about to keep going, I swung it again.
"Tch," he jumped back, veins bulging on the sides of his face.
Once again, we were in a stalemate. Earlier, he already broke one of my shields. That was my second… and last shield.
But he doesn't know that. For all he knew, I had infinite shields.
When he broke my first shield, he got cocky and charged in, ignoring my diamond sword. You should've seen his face when a new shield blocked his attack, and my sword very nearly cut his eyes open.
"•^u e¢i ~ua?" He said something.
Not having a clue what he said, "What?" I asked back, my sword changing into a bow. Then, as I went to draw the string, and arrow appeared on it and with a tug—
The arrow went flying. The ninja caught it, when it suddenly burst into flames. Startled, he threw the arrow away, but as if alive, the flames engulfed him in an instant.
"•^e¥ ¥^i?!" He screamed.
I was startled too. Frantic, the man jumped back a few times, only to stumble and fall to the ground. Once there, he started rolling—but that seemed to make him burn more.
I looked at my enchanted bow.
Damn.
[Bow - Power I, Flame I]
Without thinking, I pulled the string back. An arrow disappeared from my inventory, automatically notching itself on the bow and a second later—
An arrow struck the man's chest.
Another second passed—another arrow was fired. Now, the man stopped moving.
I took a deep breath, my hand still shaking while holding my bow. This… is more powerful than I thought. A player had 20 default HP, and I assume these ninjas have the same points. Undefended…
Doesn't a bow deal six or more damage without enchantments? Two arrows dealt at least 12 damage, plus the fire damage deals 1 damage per second, no? He burned for at least four seconds…
16 damage. The rest must've been done by the power enchantment—wait no, that's not the point.
He technically didn't get hit, right?? How did the flame enchantment affect him?!
Thinking of what happened earlier, I squinted my eyes.
He caught the arrow, did that mean getting hit? But why? The arrow tip didn't touch him at all… or is the enchantment forced on the target regardless?
Back in my Minecraft world, such a question never popped up. There were only mobs there, it's single player. Here… I need another test subject. Maybe I can find some random merchant.
Even though I just killed a ninja, I'm not about to get cocky. Look at the guy I just killed, nope.
Wait…
Looking at the ground, I saw green orbs emerging from the man's body.
"XP!" I exclaim. I almost forgot, it's looting time!
Walking over, the green orbs suddenly flew to me like iron to magnet.
[XP Level: 3 --> 5]
About to kneel down, I froze. "Two levels at once?" Scratching my head, I tried thinking of a reason why that was so. When I killed Kinko's samurai men, they barely gave me two levels.
I only got to level three by playing passively—cooking food, catching fish, you name it.
"Sweet," shrugging, I lifted the man's eyelids. I don't know why the experience gained was so different, so why stress over it? Maybe it's just RNG.
Besides, I've got time!
Now, I've been curious why this guy has such strange eyes.
"Hmm?" However, as his eyelids were lifted, I noticed something amiss. His sclera red with blood vessels, and his irides looked like they were crumbling apart, becoming one with his sclera.
It looked disturbingly intriguing.
Enough with that, I looked at his clothes. In total, he was carrying some weapons—two kunai and a handful of shuriken. Frankly, they were disappointing.
[Kunai - 3-4 damage]
[Shuriken - 2-3 damage]
"A wooden sword is better than these two…"
Shaking my head, I moved on to his other loot. I spotted two scrolls, no idea why he's carrying them when it's impossible to open them.
Seriously, I did everything to unroll this thing, it just won't budge. In the end, I cut it open, but guess what. It's blank.
Tossing those aside, I found his little wallet—three small ryo coins. Erm, why is he carrying these? To buy candy? Well, to the shrine it goes.
Aaaand, that's it. Apart from his clothes, this guy has nothing else. Can I sacrifice him to the shrine? He's useless.
