[LOCATION: Same parking garage. Ceiling cracked wide open, leaking blue light like a broken hard drive bleeding code. Rain. Fire sprinklers. Shadows moving weird.]
(Gunfire echoes. The black-suited agents are scrambling back, shouting orders. The operatives in blue armor are holding their ground. Sparks everywhere.)
Masked Figure (standing in the blue fracture overhead):"Your world's ending one fracture at a time."
(His voice is calm, but it's like static being played backward.)
Kael (wiping rain off his face, annoyed):"You ever heard of subtlety? You're kind of overdoing it with the whole 'apocalypse speech'."
(The aliens glitch again. Their limbs reform, sharper this time, more predatory.)
➔ One operative steps forward. Different armor. Bulkier. Carrying a modified rifle with red coils along the barrel.
Operative (to Kael):"You. MOVE. Now."
(Kael stays rooted. The Operative curses under his breath.)
Kael:"Tell me who that is first." (Points upward at the Masked Figure.)
(BANG-BANG-BANG! Gunfire. The red-coil rifle lights up — not bullets, but compressed magnetized rounds. They hit the aliens mid-glitch, causing their bodies to burst into clouds of pixelated static. It's like watching a hologram bleed.)
Masked Figure (smiling beneath the mask):"Brave… or stupid. Haven't decided yet."
*(He raises a hand. Symbols spin around his wrist like code booting up. Suddenly, more of those broken figures drop down through the rift. Six. Seven. Eight of them.)
(The rain pours harder. Guns reload. Everyone's on edge except Kael… who adjusts his hoodie like he's late for school.)
Kael (quiet):"I'm really starting to hate today."
(One of the glitch-creatures sprints at him, jaws splitting open sideways like broken glass. It jumps—)
➔ Then gets side-swiped by a black SUV going 80.(CRASH.)Someone new's driving.
➔ Black boots hit the pavement. Another player enters. Tall, lean, coat flapping like a movie hero, carrying dual suppressed pistols and chewing gum like this is casual.
Newcomer (to Kael):"Room for one more?"
Kael (finally smiling):"Depends. You here to save me, kill me, or ask for rent?"
Newcomer (winks):"Little bit of everything."
*(Suddenly: Explosions. Flashbangs. The operatives in blue scatter. The Masked Figure gestures — and the whole fracture starts expanding, like someone unzipping the sky. A second world visible behind it — black oceans, burning towers, cities upside down.)
➔ Masked Figure (calm):"The Veil's breaking, Kael. Whether you like it or not… you're the key."
(The newcomer fires. Not regular bullets. Ceramic-core rounds. They move slower, but track the creatures like guided missiles. BOOM. Glitch. BOOM. Distort. One alien implodes inward, folding into a cube of static before vanishing.)
Operative (screaming into comms):"BREACHPOINT IS UNSTABLE! INITIATE LOCKDOWN PROTOCOL SEVEN!"
(From across the lot, the Masked Figure steps backward into the rift. His mask shifts into static. His voice echoes through the crack as the sky folds itself back wrong.)
Masked Figure (echoing):"See you soon… Carrier."
(With a final pulse of blue light, the fracture collapses. Silence, except for the sprinklers and the hiss of hot barrels cooling.)
Newcomer (to Kael, grinning):"You really don't know what you're caught up in, do you?"
Kael (wiping rain from his eyebrow):"I don't even know who you are yet."
Newcomer (extends hand):"Call me Jett."
(Kael hesitates… then shakes his hand. Not because he trusts him. Because there's nothing left to lose tonight.)
Kael (flat):"This better be the part where someone explains what the hell's going on."
