VEILBREAKERSEpisode 3: "Codename: Carrier"
[LOCATION: Underground parking garage, still wet with rain, neon lights flickering, burnt ozone in the air.]
(Jett leads Kael through a side exit, stepping over a broken railing. They're both dripping wet, footsteps echoing off metal stairs. Sirens in the distance. Whoever's after them? Not done yet.)
Kael (flat, annoyed):"You gonna start explaining, or should I start throwing guesses?"
Jett (checking a wrist scanner, light blue hologram flickering):"I like guesses. Go ahead."
Kael:"Aliens. Secret government guys. Me in the middle. End of the world?"
Jett (grinning):"Close. Drop the 'government' part. They're private."
➔ They reach the lower level. Jett leads him to a matte black motorcycle. Looks military. Looks stolen.
Kael (frowning):"Let me guess. They're the good guys?"
Jett (swinging onto the bike):"No such thing."
(WHOOSH.Impact up above. Pieces of concrete rain down. Something heavy just landed on the street above them.)
➔ Kael's phone buzzes. Cracked screen. Unknown number. One message.
"RUN."
Kael (muttering):"Oh, great. Another mysterious text. That's not creepy at all."
(Then it drops through the hole — new creature. Looks like the others, but bigger, almost like something between a soldier and hardware malfunction. One eye glowing bright yellow like a warning light before a system crash.)
➔ Jett fires. Doesn't hesitate. Double-tap to the head. Doesn't work.➔ The creature reconstructs mid-air, bending its limbs like unfinished code trying to load.
Jett (to Kael, sharp):"ON THE BIKE. NOW."
(Kael hesitates for half a second, purely because he's stubborn. Then he's on, gripping the seat with one hand, the frame with the other.)
➔ The creature screams — digital, sharp — and lunges.
➔ Engine roars. Motorcycle peels out in sparks. The creature follows — leaping from pillar to pillar, glitching every time it touches concrete.
➔ CHASE SCENE.Neon signs streak by. Rain hitting Kael's face like needles.
Kael (over the engine noise):"This isn't exactly subtle!"
Jett (grinning like a madman):"Subtle's overrated."
*(Gunfire behind them. More operatives in black SUVs are now chasing as well — two groups, both after Kael, both trying to kill each other.)
➔ Jett slides the bike sideways — shotgun appears from under the seat. Kael grabs it instinctively. It's heavy. Real. Not for show.
➔ Suddenly, Kael's vision warps — not the world, just his eyes. Numbers. Calculations. Like something in his brain turning on.
Kael (softly):"…What the hell…"
(The creature is mid-air again, frame distorting, claws ready—)
➔ Kael fires. Dead center.BOOM.Direct hit. This time… the creature distorts… and STAYS broken, folding in on itself like a corrupted file. Gone.
➔ Jett looks over, impressed."That wasn't luck."
➔ Another SUV screeches in front of them, cutting off escape.
Driver (in comms):"Target located. Codename: Carrier confirmed."
➔ Then Kael feels it — not fear. Something else. Something personal.
Kael (voice low, dangerous):"Who keeps calling me that?"
(Silence. Over the radio, a distorted voice answers.Female. Mechanical. Like someone speaking through five layers of encryption.)
Voice:"Carrier. The one who breaks the Veil. The one who destroys everything."
Kael (gripping the shotgun tighter):"…Guess I just became everyone's problem, huh?"
➔ Jett smirks, revs the engine."Welcome to the job."
➔ Final shot: Overhead view. Multiple SUVs surrounding them. Operatives closing in. Helicopter lights flaring above.➔ And somewhere above all of that… the sky beginning to fracture again.
To be continued...
