He swiped through his gallery like a madman, his thumb moving erratically until—"There!" he cried. "There he is!"
He turned the phone around and pointed the screen toward Cecilia. "This… this is my master. That's him. Right here."
Cecilia's eyes slowly moved down to the screen.
She stared, she didn't recognize the man not immediately. But now that she'd seen his face, the features were burned into her memory. She would know him the moment he crossed her path. There would be no hiding from her again.
Dr.Kai watched her closely, trying to read anything from her silence. Hope flickered in his voice. "Now that you've seen him… please I'm begging you. I'm not trying to argue or demand anything. I just want to go. Please, let me go."
But before Dr. Kai could even form a response, the air around them shifted like a pressure drop before a storm.
Cecilia was gone from where she stood.
And in the very next breath she was standing right in front of him.
