Chapter 575 - A New Power Will Be Acquired

The three days had already passed, and now Enrico was ready to return to Leon's body. Zéphyr stood beside him, opening a portal in front of him. The training had been excellent, without a doubt. The progress percentage of his Circle Six had increased by ten percent, something unbelievable if he hadn't been certain that Zéphyr had helped him.

"Thank you for the training."

"You're welcome. Just take good care of my world."

"Don't worry. It'll be saved, without a doubt."

With that training, he was now certain that he would reach Circle Seven after that Dungeon. To make things even better, he would have excess percentage that he could transfer to his companions through the Percentage Transfer Pact.

'Ten percent of Circle Seven for someone at Circle Six will be an enormous increase.'

After advancing to the next Circle, Yumeha and Rina would also be able to progress. That meant there would be three people at that level before the end of the year, making the situation much more favorable. Both for his fire cancer, since he would be able to endure it for longer, and for surviving the disastrous future awaiting him.

'My body has increased my chances of surviving the cancer. Once I reach Circle Eight, I'll be able to endure it for a little longer.'

The problem was that reaching Circle Eight would take at least another two years, even while making use of every advantage he had. Professor Virelle, who was a prodigy only one step below Kai and Victoria, had taken that long to reach that level. Of course, it was still better than in the original story, where she had taken even longer, but it remained an extremely difficult goal for him, especially because he only had two years left to live.

'There's also the extermination of the demons who will attack the city of Sanos. I need to go to Tianlong, then to Floravita, and visit the other continents... There are far too many problems to solve in just two years.'

[There really are a lot. I feel sorry for you. So work a hundred times harder, and maybe you'll survive.]

'Oh, you're back.'

[Unfortunately for you, yes. And I'm not answering anything else. I'm not disappearing anymore either, so your fun is over.]

During those three days, the System had spoken only a few times. He no longer insisted on that conversation about the Constellations, but Enrico took every opportunity he could to bother it as much as possible. He needed to make use of that new weapon he had obtained, and it was far too entertaining. So he felt a little disappointed when he heard that the game was over.

"Enrico, I'm sorry, but how long do you intend to stand there? The portal is already open."

"Ah, sorry. I'm being bothered."

He apologized and was already prepared to step through, but Zéphyr grabbed his shoulder, as though he still wanted to say something. A serious expression appeared on his face, so Enrico simply nodded for him to continue.

"I've been thinking about whether or not I should tell you about a way to become stronger... but it would be dangerous."

"A way to become stronger? How?"

Enrico immediately became excited. A curious, almost feline look appeared in his eyes, completely ignoring the part where Zéphyr had mentioned the danger. In truth, he had never cared much about that ever since he had arrived in the original world. To him, becoming stronger and facing danger had always gone hand in hand, whether through training, items, or any other challenge.

"I knew you wouldn't care. From the way you train, it's impossible not to notice how much you want to become stronger."

Keeping the portal open, Zéphyr began to alter it. Little by little, it took on an orange-red color. Enrico raised an eyebrow as he watched it, then looked back at the God with the same curious expression as a cat.

"The way to become stronger quickly is... by completely merging with Leon."

"Completely merging with me? You mean..."

"Yes. The first stage of the fusion will make you become Leon, but without the problems that exist in his current body. That means his emotions will no longer be forced onto you, and you'll be able to control them much better, but..."

At first, Enrico thought it was a terrible idea to merge with someone like Leon. However, as the God continued explaining, it gradually began to make sense.

"Before the complete fusion, your souls will constantly fight to decide who remains in control. That struggle will continue until the True Dungeon is completed."

"That also means that, since I'll be fighting against his soul, Leon won't be able to force his emotions onto me anymore. That's why I'll be able to control them better, even without completing the fusion."

It was both bad and good at the same time. Having his soul in constant conflict with Leon's still represented a great risk. If something went wrong, the damage could even affect his true body, leaving irreversible aftereffects.

"If he wins, the fusion will be completely controlled by him. If you win, it'll be as though he had never existed, leaving behind only a slight change in your personality from before you arrived, as it was in the original story."

"A change? Will that alter the story?"

"No. It will only be a few traits of Leon's personality. He will still have done exactly the same things."

That was necessary for the fusion to be perfect the way Zéphyr intended. Besides, altering the history of his own world would be a drastic interference, something that could even attract punishment from the Supreme God.

"With this fusion, your true body will become stronger according to Leon's growth from now on. You still won't be able to use his spells in your world because the way they're used is different, but your affinity, your progress percentage, and your amount of mana will all increase considerably."

Enrico's eyes widened slightly. That was truly excellent news. If he evolved greatly with Leon's body from that point onward, besides reaching Circle Seven, he could also accumulate a large amount of percentage to transfer to his companions.

"There's a second problem..."

"What is it?"

"Your true body will need to get used to the fusion. As soon as you return, you'll fall into a coma for an entire week. That means the Nartheis I sensed inside you might try something."

Looking at the God in surprise, Enrico realized that he knew about the Nartheis. It made sense, after all, Zéphyr had analyzed his entire life before sending him to that world.

Running a hand through his hair, Enrico scratched his head. The part about being unconscious was, without a doubt, a major problem, but... he needed to do this. This was the best possible opportunity to gain more power.

"I understand. Thank you for warning me... Without a doubt, it's dangerous, but I accept."

A smile appeared on his face, excited by the strength he was about to gain. Besides, he had no intention of letting that being take over his body so easily during that week. A plan was already beginning to take shape in his mind to prevent that from happening.
