The brown liquid flowed from his lips into hers.
Janelle pushed against him.
However, his tall, solid frame was immovable, like a mountain.
Mouthful by mouthful, he fed her all the medicine in the way he favored.
Janelle's expression was grim.
This dog of a man was truly infuriating.
Seeing liquid escape the corner of her mouth, he licked it clean with his tongue.
"..."
It was just feeding medicine.
Yet Janelle felt her legs go weak.
"Alright, I'll take you to work now. At noon, I'll bring you lunch."
"..."
Janelle was speechless.
"Erik, don't you need to go back to Imperial Capital? And the border? If you don't return soon, your territory might be snatched away." Since Erik knew her identity, naturally, she could uncover his background.
Mentioning Imperial Capital and the border, Erik replied, "Even if I'm not there, they can't stir up any real trouble."
Erik drove her directly to Blue Whale Co., Ltd.
Seeing it was time, Janelle pushed the car door open to leave.
However, Erik grabbed her hand and pulled her back.
"What are you doing?" She was genuinely impatient.
"One kiss before you go."
Janelle didn't want to talk. Was this really Erik? The decisive man? The one who struck fear into others? Why was the man before her acting so clingy?
Janelle quickly pecked his lips.
"Happy now?"
"Not enough."
Erik gripped her waist and kissed her fiercely.
It was baffling. He'd never been a man driven by desire before. Yet after meeting this girl, he wanted to tie her to the bed.
He only released her when they were both gasping for air. He used to truly wonder why men and women felt the need to cling together and... gnaw. The thought had seemed almost disgusting. Now, however, he craved it.
Janelle's lips were kissed a deep, enticing red, making her look even more pitiable.
"Go on! Wait for me at lunchtime." He was effectively on vacation now, with plenty of time to slowly nurture their... connection.
"Not necessary. I'll eat at the company." Her project team had a bid to submit today; she didn't have time.
"You never eat properly." He couldn't stop worrying about her.
"Erik, I managed perfectly well without you. Don't inflate your importance, okay?" She'd once thought her father was essential, yet he'd betrayed her and her mother without mercy. Whether it was her father or Nelson, their betrayals were absolute.
Seeing her deep distrust, Erik felt a pang of heartache. They were the same kind of people. Never trusting others easily.
"Go on. Don't be angry. Anger isn't good for your health, especially for girls."
Janelle pushed the car door open and got out. She walked straight into Blue Whale Co., Ltd., never once looking back.
Though she didn't look back, she could feel the man's gaze fixed on her until she stepped inside the building. Only then did she relax.
Wasn't a physical relationship enough? Since they'd already slept together, why did he insist on being so good to her?
Erik didn't drive away until Janelle's figure disappeared inside Blue Whale. He returned to the villa.
Bryan was on the sofa playing video games, freshly showered but not asleep yet.
"Weren't you tired? Why aren't you sleeping?"
"Gotta play a couple of rounds first. Made plans with my team." Young people could miraculously wake up for gaming, no matter how exhausted.
"Bryan, after you wake up later, move to a hotel."
"What?! Erik, this villa is huge! Won't you be lonely living here alone?" There were so many rooms! Why kick him out?
"Stop the chatter. Go to the hotel when I tell you." Erik couldn't be bothered to explain. Bryan being around created too many potential... inconveniences.
"Erik, have you stopped loving me?" Was this the thanks he got once Erik had a girlfriend?
"Go to sleep. Move to the hotel after you wake up." It hadn't mattered before he had someone. Now, the little fox might appear anytime. He didn't want her to feel the slightest bit uncomfortable.
Bryan felt his heart shatter. He looked like a kicked puppy.
"You can stay at the Presidential Suite at the Grand Court Hotel." Erik added, seeing his pitiful expression. Bryan was like a brother, after all.
Bryan perked up instantly. "Really? You're giving it to me? Okay, I'll move out right now! Don't worry about me, I'll head straight to the hotel!" Erik's garage had many limited-edition supercars. There was one red one Bryan adored but could never afford. He hadn't expected Erik to just give it to him.
"Mm. And don't come back to the villa without my permission."
"..."
Bryan was speechless. This was how Erik acted when in love? He'd truly never imagined it.
Erik ignored him. He headed out to wash the car himself.
Last night, they had... indulged wildly in the back of the Cullinan. Inside were traces of their intimacy – his body fluids, hers. He didn't want anyone else touching it. It was their space now.
Seeing Erik personally washing the car shocked Bryan. "Erik, I can take it out to be washed later! Why are you doing it yourself?" It was just a Cullinan! Erik owned cars worth ten, a hundred times more, and never lifted a finger for those!
"Not necessary," Erik dismissed him flatly.
"Then let me wash it! Erik, you go rest!" This was completely abnormal.
Erik shot him a look. "Bryan, if you have nothing to do, you can leave now. And from now on, don't touch this car."
"..."
Meanwhile, Janelle had arrived at the company. Today, they were meeting with the client. The project proposal was finalized. All preparations were complete.
"Young Mr. Rovella, everything is ready," Linda stated formally.
"Mm. Linda and Kevin, come with me to the client's company. The rest of the team, stand by." Janelle took Linda and Kevin to the client's headquarters. The proposal was done, but needed client review, ideally securing their approval directly.
Other project teams were surprised to see Janelle heading to Qin Corporation so soon.
"So fast? That project is notoriously difficult! How did their group of newcomers finish it this quickly?"
"Impossible! Absolutely impossible!"
The murmured comments spread.
The remaining three members of Janelle's team overheard and felt distinctly uncomfortable.
