Chapter 1 - Prologue – The Fragile Body That Couldn’t Dodge

Pain.

No, not the kind that comes from broken bones or bleeding cuts. This one was deeper, Constant, Silent. The pain of being born in a body that betrayed you at every step

My name was Dolor, which means "pain" or "grief", pretty ironic, and I was… ordinary. Worse than ordinary, even.

I had a frail constitution—some rare, incurable disease the doctors could never fully diagnose. No running, no sports, no fighting. A light sprint would leave me gasping. While other boys were charging the football field, I was stuck on the bench, like an NPC with forced smiles, watching everyone play that I could never dream of.

But I had something else—imagination. And an obsession.

Anime. More specifically, Dragon Ball.

The idea of soaring through skies, clashing fists with gods, channeling inner strength into blazing waves of ki… it was everything I could never be. Goku, Vegeta, Gohan—they weren't just characters. They were pieces of hope.

In a way, they kept me alive.

It happened on a rainy Tuesday.

The streets were soaked, and I was heading back from college, hood pulled up, earphones blasting my favorite music.

I stepped off the curb.

The truck came out of nowhere—skidding, horn blaring, tires screaming.

I saw it. I saw it coming. But my body?

Too slow.

Too weak.

My legs refused to move. I can see it approaching, but my limbs failed to react to me again, just like they always had. I laughed bitterly, even in that instant.

"Figures…"

There was no pain. Just the sound of glass, then nothing but black.

Silence.

Then… something strange.

I couldn't move or see. But I felt everything. My consciousness was intact. My soul… was real. And wherever I was, it wasn't Earth.

<< Due to the host's unique soul and obsession with the Dragon Ball, the Sign-In System has chosen you as its first and only host. >>

Is this… real?

"Wait… am I getting a second chance? In Dragon Ball?!"

No. It couldn't be.

But the warmth wrapping around me… the muffled sound of voices… the distant cries of babies…

I was being held.

A newborn.

I'm getting another chance.

And I wasn't just anywhere.

I was in the Dragon Ball Universe.

My eyes were closed, but I could already feel the possibilities. The chaos. The danger. And yet…

I was delighted.

I get to live again, I will not be limited by a weak body or a cruel fate.
