Time skip.
Anyway, Seijuro was back in Konoha. He had given his report and everything— all that shit was taken care of.
He reported back everything that happened, but didn't say anything about the alien attack, which Tsunade and the others did notice. He only said they were attacked by an unnamed attacker that they defeated. He said nothing about the future or what the creature had said.
Simply put: unnamed attacker.
And since Shikaru probably reported back before Seijuro could return, Seijuro also added the fact that the attacker wanted to kill him because he resembled Aizen.
Which... looking at side-by-side pictures, yeah, they kinda looked alike—except that Aizen had white and red hair and looked a bit more mature, and also possessed a Rinnegan, while Seijuro himself had more teenage-boy-like features.
He sighed a bit.
He didn't talk about his Karma marking. That shit would stay a secret. Since he had started learning Sage Mode with the Toads—mastered it, might I add—when he gained a horn, he could always say it happened when he fused those two chakras together along with his own, and the result may not be the same for everyone.
There was a lot to think about, like the coup going on with the Hyuga, and Seijuro maybe—or maybe not—leaving the door to his lab slightly open for Hikaru to steal more of that liquid to further awaken his eyes.
If the rebellion faded, Seijuro wouldn't even be on the radar. As far as everyone was concerned, he wasn't remotely interested in it, nor was he part of it in the slightest.
So yeah, he was safe.
Anyway, he had a lot of shit to care about right now. If his plan worked nicely, in five years, the village would be reformed and better than ever.
And if the Hyuga didn't play their cards right, the Village of the Uzumaki might as well gain a new clan.
As well, hum... Aizen, after finding out about the coup, was nice enough to offer any Hyuga asylum within his lands, alongside noble clan status in the village.
Wasn't that just the best.
Like, he wanted to care about those things right now—but he couldn't.
95% of his attention was on something else.
To be more exact—someone else.
Mikoto was currently laying on top of him.
Sure, she had clothes on, but still, didn't remove the fact she was on top of him.
And she was playing with his Adam's apple.
Or more accurately—biting his Adam's apple with the casual possessiveness of someone who'd been second-guessing herself all week.
He didn't even flinch.
"You know that's a sensitive spot, right?"
She didn't respond.
Just exhaled through her nose and bit a little harder.
Jealousy in its most lowkey, Uchiha way.
He tilted his head slightly, looking down at her with half-lidded amusement. "You mad at the future?"
Silence.
Then she finally mumbled something.
"...Don't wanna share you."
He chuckled. Not mockingly—just fond.
Wrapping his arm around her waist, he pulled her in a bit tighter.
He gave her a light kiss on the cheek.
"I know. You're still iffy on it. This changes nothing. I still love you a lot," he said calmly.
She didn't say much.
You see, he created this problem himself.
Why, you may ask?
Well, you remember when he told her to have her Sharingan open during every happy moment so she could never forget them?
Guess who was in 95% of those moments with her... yes, him.
So every time she turned her eyes on, she could see those moments. They were embedded into her memory. So, to her, he was someone very dear—very close to her heart—and she didn't want to share that.
"I know," she said softly.
"I just don't want to lose you."
She side-eyed him.
"I'm serious."
"I know."
His voice was gentle now.
He kissed her temple. A quiet thing.
"I'm not just handing out affection, Mikoto. You know how I am."
A pause.
Then, without moving, she murmured:
"Promise me your first child... will be with me."
He blinked.
Sat with that request for a moment. No jokes. No teasing.
Then, slowly, nodded.
"I promise."
The air changed.
Mikoto relaxed, visibly.
Tension leaked from her limbs like water down stone. She nestled closer into his chest, her fingers resting lightly over his ribs.
A small, satisfied smirk tugged at the corner of her lips.
"Good."
He tilted her chin gently, kissed her—slowly, deliberately. Not a desperate thing. Not even lustful.
She kissed him back, and made sure to hold him close. There he was. He wouldn't go away from her anytime soon. She knew this was him—yet, at the same time, something about him felt missing.
Like he was incomplete.
She couldn't see it before, but now she felt it.
This was undeniably her Seijuro.
But something had changed.
The darker side of him seemed gone. Usually, people should feel happy—but this didn't feel right. A part of him was missing.
And his body—changes seemed to be happening. He was becoming less human.
Well, so was she.
She could feel it.
Those baths he'd been making her take?
They were working. Her Mangekyō Sharingan was now basically an Eternal Mangekyō.
She had access to both of her abilities: pause, and time speed-up and rewind—or some form of it, she thought.
She thought that an MS should have two abilities—yet her right eye's ability just seemed to be time-related. Same with her left. Yet she could simply pause someone with it.
It seemed weaker, yet... the left eye's ability made her practically immortal.
As long as she had a pause on herself, she could not get injured at all—or poisoned—or killed.
