Chapter 17 - Chapter 17: Main Quest Completed?

Wu Chang quietly moved behind Randy and whispered, "This is a biology issue. I'll explain it to you after we take him down."

Facing the aggressive charge of Wolf, Randy didn't have time to ponder and immediately swung his great sword towards Wolf.

Wolf's attack was so fast that Wu Chang couldn't see it clearly, yet Randy, as an ordinary person, managed to counter it with ease.

In the midst of the fight, he even had time to lift a musket with one hand and put a few holes in Wolf's head.

The exorcism array, combined with the technique Randy unconsciously formed, along with his orc-like powerful physical talent, soon took the initiative.

If nothing unexpected happens, it won't be long before Randy can showcase a hand-ripping-the-boss move to Wu Chang.

Wu Chang sat in the distance, eating some fried beans he casually took from the cafeteria while clapping his hands.

Fantastic, fantastic.

No wonder the Peaceful Sect has infiltrated so many agents, yet they dare not rashly take action against Randy. Truly someone whose ancestors were fierce enough to gouge out the Evil God's eyes.

As the battle continued to escalate, the range expanded to the entire first-floor hall. Wu Chang took a look at his level and wisely retreated into the shadows, avoiding any accidental injury from the pair.

Before leaving, he didn't forget to throw Wolf a "good luck" look. Wolf subtly nodded at him, acknowledging his act of luring Randy.

He intended to give Randy a look as well before leaving, but the red-eyed Randy didn't notice his gesture.

He had reason to suspect that some berserker bloodline had mixed into Randy's body since Randy quickly entered a state akin to frenzy after the battle began.

Quick reactions, lethal attacks, and completely fearless.

In a frenzy state, Randy effortlessly switched between multiple weapons: swift sword, musket, golden crossbow arrow, used alternately.

Seizing an opportunity, when Wolf's defense was wide open, he pulled out the musket, aimed directly down the middle, and blasted away half of Wolf's human body with one shot.

Then, stepping on the stairs, he leaped high into the air, slicing upwards with a sword to sever two of Wolf's mutated insect limbs. His body flipped in mid-air, smoothly holstered the musket on his back, unhooked the golden crossbow, and shot two silver crossbow arrows into Wolf's eyes, pinning Wolf's head to the wall.

Wolf's life force was much higher than ordinary henchmen, and even with the demon-breaking crossbow arrow in his head, he did not die on the spot.

He used brute strength to pull the crossbow arrow from the wall, the arrow lodged in his eye socket, and in a satisfied tone, he said to Randy:

"Randy, after such a long time, you're still so strong, strong enough for me to start questioning who between us is the real monster."

Wolf's words seemed to have some magic, instantly pulling Randy out of his frenzy state.

Calming down, Randy quickly fell into inexplicable memories, murmuring:

"I hear a lot of people talking, your voices sound familiar to me, do we know each other?"

"Of course, you and I are bosom friends." Wolf continued to incite with a special tone.

While Randy was lost in thought, in the shadows where they couldn't see, Wolf's bloated worm body cracked open, revealing a fresh, heart-like pulsating new body inside. The split and shed flesh fibers were thick, like a cocoon formed of flesh and blood.

Crap, the boss is about to enter phase two, and our damage dealer is still in a daze. What to do?

Waiting online, very urgent.

There's no out-of-instance aid function, no choice, he has to step up himself.

Transforming into the Hurry King, Wu Chang leapt from the shadows on the second floor, heading straight for Wolf.

He's not planning to let Wolf complete the phase transition CG and smoothly emerge from the cocoon.

Wolf sensed the pouncing Wu Chang, but he didn't move, firstly because his insect limbs were just severed by Randy and hadn't regenerated, and secondly because he didn't think a mere insect could pose much of a threat.

Rather than feeling threatened, he felt more offended and angry.

He adopted an emoticon similar to that of an angry environmental girl, snarling, "How dare you!"

The mental pressure from a B-level instance boss's wrath was enough to kill an ordinary person on the spot, but at this moment, Wu Chang only felt an indomitable spirit encompass him, making him fearlessly shout his skill in defiance.

"Manba!"

With the skill adjustment of Mamba Iron Elbow, Wu Chang's elbow automatically locked onto Wolf's face at a distance of two meters, delivering a solid iron elbow blow.

While pushing the two demon-breaking crossbow arrows deeper, it also made Wolf's already twisted face even more abstract.

Being a B-level instance boss, Mamba Iron Elbow did not inflict much damage on Wolf, but the various negative statuses attached to the elbow were extremely annoying, making Wolf unable to continue inciting Randy.

As Randy regained clarity, Wu Chang activated the demon-breaking crossbow arrow's special skill "Demon-Breaking" and threw the gold-glowing demon-breaking crossbow arrow, shouting:

"Catch it!"

Randy got the gist, catching the demon-breaking crossbow arrow in mid-air, quickly loading it, and flinging it towards Wolf.

The last crossbow arrow shot out like a golden lightning bolt, accompanied by a deafening explosion, plunging straight into Wolf's brow.

There seemed to be some hidden interaction between the three crossbow arrows, causing the other two arrows to also enter a "Demon-Breaking" state when the last one was fired.

The golden light enveloped Wolf, and amidst the piercing screams, the giant worm body in the cocoon was boiled by the golden light, bursting along its cracks, spraying bubbling green blood everywhere.

Without the support of the worm body, Wolf's incomplete human form fell, and with his last breath, he raised his head and said with unwillingness:

"The sacrifice is about to begin, the God is destined to descend, this is fate, unstoppable. Today is not the end, only the beginning of everything!"

Having said that, he breathed his last.

Wu Chang spat at Wolf, cursing him for being enigmatic even in his dying moments, deserving to burst into pieces.

With the greatest threat resolved, Wu Chang and Randy collapsed onto the ground, both staring skywards. Through the shattered roof of the sanatorium, they saw the dissipating clouds revealing a starry night sky.

Randy removed a ring with the Anderson Family Crest and casually tossed it to Wu Chang, saying:

"Thanks to you being here, I was able to successfully thwart the Peace Church's conspiracy. As the ruler of White Stone Town, I still have some cleanup work to do. You take this and exchange for a horse in town, to report everything that happened here to His Majesty, I'll follow shortly."

The moment he caught the ring, a prompt appeared before Wu Chang's eyes.

"Player has completed main quest one: Leave Moonlight Sanatorium. The player can choose to end the instance in a non-combat environment and leave the current plane."

"Player has completed main quest two: Explore the secrets within Moonlight Sanatorium. All main quests completed, after the countdown ends, the player will be forcibly transported out of the instance plane."

"Remaining maximum stay time in the current instance: one hour."

With the tasks completed, Wu Chang didn't hurry to leave. He took out a golden pocket watch found under Ginton's bed, checked the time, and then asked Randy:

"Director Randy, before leaving, I have a few questions I'd like to discuss with you."

Randy: "Go ahead."

"Assuming the mythological records are true, do you think the Evil God is a true God?" Wu Chang asked casually.

"If everything were true, I think it could be." Randy answered calmly.

Wu Chang checked the time and asked, "Then what do you think is the standard for a God?"

Randy smiled and answered, "You'd need to ask the Church's priest about that. If it were up to me, probably having the absolute power to destroy everything and omniscient and omnipotent infinite wisdom."

"So do you think the Evil God possesses these two traits?" Wu Chang's tone became somewhat provocative.

Randy shrugged, "Who knows, maybe when you and I meet the Evil God, we'll understand whether it's a God. By the way, you've been checking that watch since earlier, is there something up?"

With a snap, Wu Chang closed the golden pocket watch and said solemnly, "I don't think the Evil God possesses those traits."

Randy asked with a smile, "Why not?"

Wu Chang pulled out the King's Badge with his left hand and the Secret Magic Badge with his right, showing a radiant smile.

"Because you have no idea what I'm going to do next, Lord Leman."
