Chapter 9 - Chapter 9: Jubei City

The sunset bathed Jubei City, making it appear particularly majestic and grand.

The last time Wang Junze came to Jubei City was three years ago, and due to his failed cultivation in Opening Veins, he had no mind for sightseeing or familiarizing himself with the city. Now, standing once again before Jubei City, he couldn't help but feel as if a lifetime had passed.

He dismounted and entered the city. Covered in blood and grime, Wang Junze drew quite a bit of attention.

Wang Junze paid little heed to the staring, finding an inn to settle down at random.

"Waiter, give me a superior room, prepare some hot water, and find me a set of clean clothes."

Pulling a piece of broken silver from his purse, Wang Junze casually tossed it to the waiter and instructed softly.

"Oh dear, sir, unfortunately, we are fully booked... Perhaps you could look elsewhere?"

Returning the silver, the waiter smiled apologetically.

"Fully booked?"

Slightly taken aback, Wang Junze instinctively glanced around, only to find that the inn was barely occupied. Feeling dissatisfied, he asked, "There isn't a soul in this lobby, and you call it fully booked? Are you trying to deceive me?"

"How dare I!"

The waiter hurriedly explained, "To be honest, someone booked the entire inn early this morning and forbade us from accommodating any other guests."

"Booked the entire inn?" Hearing this, Wang Junze was undoubtedly astonished.

This inn he found was no ordinary inn; it was one of the best inns in Jubei City, with at least a hundred rooms. Putting aside the cost of booking the whole inn, the grandeur alone would not be something common people could dare to display.

"What is going on, is there something big happening in Jubei City?"

Wang Junze asked, somewhat puzzled.

"You may not know, sir, but there are rumors that the Saintess of the Profound Moon Sword Sect is coming to Jubei City soon. Countless people want to witness her grace firsthand and are flocking to Jubei City. To tell you the truth, not just this little inn, but all major inns in Jubei City are either fully booked or filled to capacity. I'm afraid it's hard to find a place to stay now," the waiter explained, shaking his head.

Lightly raising his eyebrows, Wang Junze couldn't help but feel a slight stir in his heart.

He was well aware of the Profound Moon Sword Sect, which was truly one of the Four Great Celestial Sects. By comparison, even the Cloud Mirror Sect where his sister, Wang Xin, was affiliated, couldn't hold a candle to it.

The Saintess of the Profound Moon Sword Sect, Luo Qingxuan, was a prodigious talent, having broken through to the Heaven-Stepping Realm at the young age of twenty, and was furthermore an exceptional beauty, adored by countless individuals across the world.

If she were really coming to Jubei City, then no wonder so many people were flocking there.

For them, it was not just about catching a glimpse of the Saintess, but getting favored by her might mean a chance to enter the Profound Moon Sword Sect. Such an opportunity was enough to make any self-proclaimed talented cultivator's heart race.

Even Wang Junze couldn't help but be moved.

In this world, there weren't many forces that could accommodate a genius with potential to open eighty-one veins, and the Profound Moon Sword Sect was undoubtedly among them.

Moreover, Wang Junze had always excelled at the Sword Dao. For him, joining the Profound Moon Sword Sect would be one of the best choices!

Of course, being moved was one thing, but standing out from the masses in Jubei City was another, a very challenging endeavor indeed.

Given his current strength and status, even if Luo Qingxuan really did come, he probably wouldn't have the chance to even see her.

Plus, there's the present pressing issue of finding lodging.

After pondering for a bit, Wang Junze spoke again, "If that's the case, then even if I look elsewhere, it seems it's hard to find any accommodation. Is there no way to make an exception?"

"This... sir, it's not that I'm unwilling to help, but truly, I can't make such decisions," the waiter answered with some difficulty.

"How about this, help me contact the guest who booked the inn. I'd like a chance to speak with him personally. Regardless of the outcome, I will be deeply grateful." As he spoke, Wang Junze once again handed over the piece of broken silver.

Seeing the silver Wang Junze offered, the waiter bit his lip and finally accepted it, "Very well, I will go and ask the guest for you, but I cannot guarantee anything."

"Thank you!"

Slightly cupping his hands, Wang Junze expressed his gratitude.

The waiter turned back into the inn, and shortly after, a young man in brocade robes emerged following him. The young man scrutinized Wang Junze briefly, frowned slightly, and said, "How dare you be so unaware of the times? Since I have booked the inn, it is to enjoy some peace and quiet. If everyone asked for an exception, why would I bother booking the whole place?"

Wang Junze was not angered by the scolding and slightly cupped his hands, "I truly apologize. I've just arrived in Jubei City today and ran into some trouble during the day. Now that it's late, it's really difficult to find somewhere to stay. I had no choice but to ask the waiter to discuss this with you. I only need a corner room to settle in temporarily. I'll leave early in the morning. I'm willing to pay double the room rate. Would you be so kind as to accommodate me?"

"Do I look like I'm in need of money?" The young man sneered disdainfully, "Judging by your appearance, you also seem like a martial artist. How about testing your skill? Here's the opportunity: if you can withstand one move from me, not only can you stay here, but I'll also treat you to drinks. However... if you can't, then be gone and stop bothering me. Do you dare?"
