Chapter 33 - Declaration of War

Kai slowly pulled his hand away from her face, and Silfy slid quietly to the floor. Breathless. Motionless. Dead.

The wind whispered through the trees, and leaves rustled softly around him. Birds were silent.

Without the slightest trace of guilt, he seized the moment. Every move was calculated, every word and sound – carefully crafted.

"Oh, Silfy… harder… harder!" he shouted, shaking the tree, producing creaks and snapping branches. The sounds were convincing, almost brutal in their realism.

Mei fell to her knees, listening in silence, her imagination filling in the gaps with details her heart refused to accept. Every sound, every tremor of the tree, every groan from Kai – created a scene that would be forever burned into her memory.

"Kai…" she whispered through tears, her voice breaking, her body trembling with helplessness and pain. The world around her was frozen in that moment, cut off from reality, and she knew no comfort could reach her.
