In Cortan, Clinton sits in his room, hoping his son returns safely—and that they've dealt with Alvarez. Before Cortan's technological rise, it was a weak kingdom that had suffered from multiple invasions and attacks. That's why Clinton refuses to share his resources with other kingdoms; he wants his to remain the strongest and safest possible.
…but sadly, that safety wouldn't last long, because Alvarez had a plan.
Alvarez's plan:
The Knights of Light he controlled would infiltrate Cortan. No one would notice their glowing eyes because they wore helmets. One of them would open Cortan's main gate, allowing Alvarez and his Viking army to enter.
The plan succeeds, and the invasion begins. The Vikings spread chaos and destruction everywhere. The real Knights of Light try to fight back but soon encounter their controlled comrades. They hesitate to strike their own brothers, and that hesitation gets them killed easily.
Alvarez enters the battlefield, killing soldiers and knights one after another—switching between weapons and performing creative combos. He makes a bomb and blows them up, then conjures a stream of fire to burn them alive. He was, quite literally, a monster.
The Viking who enjoyed the chaos most was Thordak. If Klaes was Alvarez's right hand, Thordak was his left. He was huge, tall, muscular, and wielded a massive weapon like this 👇🏿 to brutally crush the Knights of Light.

Samantha runs into her father's room:
"Dad!!! We're under attack!!"
Clinton looks out the window and realizes his worst nightmare has come true. He decides to act—he puts on his metal warrior suit and tells his daughter to stay in the castle, as it's too dangerous outside.
Clinton rushes into battle, firing lasers and cutting down Vikings. Then, two mind-controlled Knights of Light attack him. Clinton creates a shield and blocks their strikes.
"You're my knights! What are you doing? Why are you attacking me?!"
They keep slashing until they break the shield, forcing Clinton to kill them in self-defense.
Then Alvarez appears and says mockingly:
"Those two knights served you for years, protecting your kingdom. And now you reward them by killing them. What a terrible ruler you are."
Clinton sees Alvarez's face and recognizes him—it's Edward. Furious, he attacks.
Clinton fires a powerful beam, but Alvarez blocks it with a shield of his own.
Clinton yells, "You!! I told you to leave my kingdom alone!"
Alvarez smirks: "Sorry, but I don't take orders from anyone."
He creates a rocket and launches it, but Clinton dodges.

Meanwhile, in the prison cafeteria, Onen eats the terrible prison food—it tastes like garbage that's been cooked and served.
One inmate complains:
"I know we're criminals, but we're still human! We deserve at least edible food. I hate this place. I wish a miracle would happen and free us."
That "miracle" arrives in the form of Alvarez's rocket—it hits the prison, blowing a hole in the wall. Prisoners pour out, including Onen.
But instead of escaping right away, Onen heads to the storage room to find his sword.

Elsewhere, the sorcerer Klaes enters the castle with the Vikings. The Knights of Light try to defend it, but Klaes summons dark, savage wolves made of black magic. They rip the knights apart, devouring them viciously.
Samantha witnesses the horror and realizes the castle is no longer safe—she flees.
Onen finds his sword and searches for an aircraft to escape. He locates one, but before boarding, he sees Samantha being assaulted by two Vikings in the street.
Onen (thinking):
(Should I save her?... What kind of question is that? Of course I should. She was kind to me.)
Onen rushes in, kills the two Vikings, then says:
"Hey—you need to hurry! We have to get out of here!"
Samantha: "But what about our kingdom? These are my people—I can't abandon them!"
Onen: "Are you crazy? This place is hell now. We don't stand a chance against those invaders. You have to come with me!"
He grabs her hand and pulls her toward the aircraft.
Samantha: "Do you even know how to fly this thing?"
Onen: "Yeah. My uncle taught me."

Back to Clinton and Alvarez. Clinton punches Alvarez in the gut and lands several hits, then grabs him by the throat.
Clinton points toward the chaos around them:
"Is this what you wanted? All this death and destruction—for what? Revenge? To rule my kingdom? You're a monster, just like your father!"
Alvarez forms a laser pistol and fires at Clinton's abdomen—the shot pierces the metal armor, wounding him badly. Clinton stumbles.
Alvarez then creates a hammer and smashes Clinton's helmet, revealing his face. He grabs him and says:
"I could kill you right now… but first, there's something I want to do."
A Knight of Light approaches and removes his mask—it's Connor, mind-controlled.
Alvarez: "I'm going to make your son kill himself in front of you. That way, you'll feel what I felt all these years—the pain of losing someone dear."
Clinton: "No! Please, don't! I already know that pain—I lost my wife ten years ago!"
Alvarez: "Good… then feel it again."

Onen and Samantha are flying away, but then Samantha spots her father and brother confronting Alvarez.
Samantha: "Onen, please! Go back and save my father and brother—they're everything to me!"
Onen: "We don't have time! It's too dangerous—I could die trying!"
Samantha starts crying: "Please… I can't live without them."
Moved by her desperation, Onen decides to help.
He activates autopilot, jumps from the aircraft, and lands on nearby buildings, running toward the fight.
Alvarez: "Connor, kill yourself. Now."
Connor raises his lightsaber toward his head and prepares to ignite it—but Onen arrives just in time, hits Connor in the head, and knocks him unconscious.
Alvarez: "Noooo! You ruined the moment!"
Clinton summons all his remaining strength and punches Alvarez away.
Clinton: "Take Connor and run! Now!"
Alvarez rises again: "This isn't how I planned it, but whatever."
He creates a lightsaber and slices off Clinton's head.
Onen watches in shock. He had promised Samantha he'd save both her father and brother—but it seems he'll only save one.
He carries Connor's unconscious body and flees, heading back to the aircraft.
Alvarez forms a gun to shoot them down, but a group of Knights of Light intervenes. Alvarez fights and kills them, but by then, Onen has already escaped with Connor, flying far from Cortan.
Alvarez stands among the corpses, looking up at the departing ship. He's frustrated that he failed to kill Connor and Onen—but satisfied that he achieved his main goal. He avenged his father and beheaded Clinton.
The war ends with a decisive victory for Alvarez and his army. The mind-controlled Knights of Light are imprisoned—the spell will wear off after a day. Alvarez spreads his rule across all of Cortan, becoming its new king.
Then he gives a speech to all of Cortan and his followers:
Alvarez:
"I've dreamed of this day for years. I've worked endlessly to reach this point. And now, after all that effort, I can finally say—officially—Clinton is dead, and I am your new ruler."
He lifts Clinton's severed head for all of Cortan to see. The Vikings cheer with joy, while the citizens of Cortan watch in terror on their screens.
Alvarez continues:
"Though I'm proud of this accomplishment… my rule over this kingdom is only the beginning."
