Chapter 6 - chapter 7

Well, some of you must be wondering: Who is Alvarez? How did he get this incredible ability to create any weapon? And who is the sorcerer with him? All these questions will be answered in this chapter.

Ten years ago, Alfred, the King of Wessex, visited the Kingdom of Kortan and was amazed by its advancement and progress. Of course, during the visit, he was surrounded by a group of Light Knights to watch him. King Alfred meets with Clinton and they talk.

Alfred: "Since I entered your kingdom, I haven't been able to close my eyes. Everything here is beautiful and wonderful."

Clinton: "Thank you for your praise. Usually, I don't allow anyone from outside to visit my kingdom, but you are an old friend, so you are welcome anytime."

Alfred: "Well, it seems I am lucky to be the only person allowed to visit your paradise. But… although I am enjoying my time here, I didn't just come to visit. I have a deal for you."

Clinton: "What is it?"

Alfred: "How about you trade your resources and weapons with Wessex? I know you are very protective about sharing your technology with other kingdoms, but what do you say we make an exception? We will support each other and trade with one another. This will benefit us both."

Clinton gets annoyed and feels Alfred came to his kingdom only for his resources and not to meet his friend.

Clinton: "I can't do that. I swore not to share my technology with the rest of the world. I know this might seem selfish, but I have my own reasons for doing so."

Alfred tries to change his mind, but Clinton remains firm in his decision. Alfred gives up and says:

Alfred: "Fine. Thank you for your time."

He then leaves and returns angrily to his kingdom of Wessex and starts yelling while speaking with his advisor.

Alfred: "I spoke to him in the most polite way possible, and he still refuses my offer. That bastard thinks his people are the only ones who deserve to live in an advanced place!"

Advisor Aldhelm: "My lord, I don't want to upset you or go against you, but I think you should give up. If your offer didn't work, nothing else will."

Alfred: "...No. I mustn't give up so easily."

Aldhelm: "You don't mean to attack them, do you? That would be suicide, just like what happened to the other kingdoms!"

Alfred: "Of course, I won't attack them. I will find a smarter and better solution."

Then Edward, Alfred's 18-year-old son, enters to speak with his father. There was mutual respect between Edward and Alfred, and Edward always aspired to be a great king like his father.

Edward: "Father, I respect you and your decisions but… is this matter really worth it? Why do you want those resources and devices so badly? Why don't we just forget about them and live our lives in our kingdom? Contact with Kortan has only caused us losses."

Alfred: "My son, you must never settle for less. Before Kortan advanced, Wessex was the strongest kingdom, and I wanted to achieve my dream of uniting all the kingdoms under one rule. But Kortan's progress ruined everything. I will do anything to restore the strength and glory of my kingdom. Anything."

Edward: "…Fine. If that's what you want, then I am with you."

Several months later, it was the birthday of Clinton's son. Alfred goes to visit Kortan, pretending he wants to give a gift to the boy. The party is held, and Alfred offers pies to Clinton, his children, and his wife. What they didn't know was that the pies were laced with a drug that put them to sleep. Alfred uses this opportunity to search the castle and finds a place filled with all kinds of weapons. He intended to steal some weapons, but then he found something better.

He found a metal suit, similar to the Iron Man suit that Tony Stark wears in Marvel comics. This suit was called… hmm, I need to think of a great name. The Metal Warrior? Lazy name, but your writer couldn't think of anything better. Anyway, the Metal Warrior suit was the peak of Kortan's technological advancement, and there were only two in the entire kingdom, though Alfred only knew about the existence of one.

Alfred found a manual that explained the suit and how to use it. The suit relied heavily on mental communication: you could imagine what you wanted the suit to do, and it would do it—within its capabilities, of course. The Metal Warrior could fly, shoot missiles and lasers, and create shields. Alfred puts on the suit, thinks about flying, then takes off quickly and crashes into the ceiling, making noise that alerts two Light Knights, who rush to investigate.

Alfred struggles to control the suit, but then the two knights enter the weapons room and find Alfred.

Alfred immediately thinks about firing the laser at them, and indeed, a device in the suit fires a laser and kills both knights.

Alfred: "This is amazing. I'm starting to love this suit."

Then Alfred gets an idea. He goes to where he had drugged Clinton and his family, decides to kidnap Clinton's wife, leaves a message for him, then flies out of Kortan and returns to Wessex.

Hours later, Clinton wakes up and finds the message and reads it. The message from Alfred says:

"My old friend, I hold no grudge against you. All I want is to improve my kingdom. I tried to politely offer you a deal to trade resources, but you refused. I don't know why you are so strict about sharing your resources with the other kingdoms. Do you think you're the only one who deserves to live in an advanced kingdom? Anyway, I have kidnapped your wife. If you do not share your resources with me, I will kill her. I hate to use this method, but you have left me no choice."

Clinton becomes enraged, tears the letter, and says:

Clinton: "That bastard… I knew I should never have let him enter my kingdom again. I will make him pay."

Connor, the 11-year-old child, cries and says:

Connor: "Will Mom die?"

Clinton comforts his son and tells him:

Clinton: "Don't worry, son. Your mother will not die today. I will save her, and we will finish celebrating your birthday as if nothing happened."

After investigating the place, Clinton discovers that Alfred stole the Metal Warrior suit. He decides to go to his chamber and presses a button on the wall, revealing the second Metal Warrior suit.

At that moment, Edward speaks with Alfred.

Edward: "This is amazing, Father. You're the first person to ever steal one of Kortan's technologies. But are you sure Clinton will agree to your demands?"

Alfred: "Son, I've known Clinton for a long time, and I know how much he loves his wife. He will agree. Now excuse me, I'm going to train with this suit until Clinton arrives."

Alfred trains for hours using the suit and begins to get used to it and its technologies. Then Edward comes and tells him:

Edward: "Father, Clinton has arrived. He's standing at the gate."

Alfred: "Finally."

Alfred goes to meet him and is shocked to see Clinton wearing the Metal Warrior suit.

Alfred: "Wow, I didn't know you had another suit like this. And wow again—you actually came alone. I expected you to bring a whole army with you."

Clinton: "I alone am more than enough to deal with you."

At that moment, Clinton is trying to distract Alfred and stall him. Meanwhile, a Light Knight wearing a device that makes him invisible infiltrates the kingdom of Wessex, bypasses the guards, reaches the prison, and frees Clinton's wife. This knight is equipped with a jetpack, so he carries the queen and escapes from Wessex.

The conversation continues between Alfred and Clinton.

Alfred: "You need to change this limited way of thinking. We humans were created to work together and share. You shouldn't deprive the world of your resources."

Clinton: "Okay, let me think… hmm… no."

Alfred: "Why are you acting so cold? You know I'm holding your wife hostage and I could signal my guards to kill her at any moment!"

Then the Light Knight arrives and lands next to Clinton, carrying the queen.

Alfred is shocked by what he sees and realizes his plan has completely failed—especially since Clinton didn't even have to put in much effort to free his wife. Just one invisible knight and some stalling was enough.

Clinton: "Well, Alfred, you have nothing to threaten me with now. All you have to do is hand over the suit."

Alfred: "..."

Clinton: "Don't you dare resist, Alfred. I've been using this suit for years and I'm far more skilled with it than you. Just surrender."

Alfred becomes enraged. He doesn't want to walk away from this situation as a loser. He doesn't want Clinton to return victorious, laughing, telling his friends in Kortan how easily he tricked the King of Wessex. So he makes a bold decision. He raises both hands and fires the laser.

Clinton blocks the first blast, but the second one strikes Clinton's wife and the knight who freed her, killing them both.

Clinton sees his wife dead and is overcome with rage. He attacks Alfred and lands a blow that sends him crashing through Wessex's gate. Clinton attacks again, but this time Alfred blocks it, and the two begin exchanging punches. Their fight puts the people of Wessex in danger—every blow sends one of them crashing into a house, killing people inside.

Clinton: "Why did you do this? What will you gain from killing my wife?"

Alfred: "Do you think I'd let you walk away from this conflict victorious? I am King Alfred, and history will remember that I stole one of your technologies, killed your wife, and killed you!!! These are the consequences of refusing my demands."

Clinton: "The only thing history will remember about you is that you're insane."

The battle between the two continues, and to give you an idea of how it looked… the destruction in the kingdom goes on. Clayton notices that their fight is putting people in danger, so he punches Alfred upward, then punches him again, sending him flying into the sky.

Alfred sighs and says, "I'll kill you, and after that, I'll study this suit more and find a way to make one like it."

Alfred launches rockets at Clayton, but Clayton creates a bubble like the one in the image below 👇

—to protect himself from Alfred's rockets.

Clayton: "You were the only person I allowed to visit my kingdom, because you were my friend. But it turns out you're no different from the rest—greedy, insane, and worst of all, you killed my wife. For what? Just to feel like you've won for once? Your delusions of grandeur have brought out the worst in you and turned you into a monster."

Clayton attacks Alfred fiercely, trying to push him away from Wessex and move their fight to an empty area. Then he fires a massive energy beam at Alfred. Alfred tries to block it by creating an energy bubble, but it shatters—the beam hits him, causing a huge explosion. So huge that Edward could see it from a distance. That's how Clayton killed Alfred.

Clayton returns to carry his wife's body, but Edward appears and shouts:

"You!!! Where's my father?! What did you do to him?!"

Clayton: "He's dead. He got what he deserved."

Edward is shocked by what he hears.

Clayton: "Listen, boy. Before I leave, I'll tell you one thing—if you're thinking of revenge or anything like that, don't. You won't succeed. So give up. Leave me and my kingdom alone."

Then Clayton carries his wife's body and returns to Cortan. Connor and Samantha wait, hoping their father can save their mother. Before leaving, Clayton tells Connor, "Don't worry, son. Your mother won't die today. I'll save her, and we'll finish your birthday as if nothing happened." But sadly, he couldn't keep his promise. That day, the birthday celebration turned into a funeral.

After that tragic day, King Clayton decided not to allow anyone from outside to enter his kingdom—friend or not.

Meanwhile, Edward screams at his advisor:

"We should attack them now! He killed my father! I'll burn his entire kingdom!"

Advisor Aldhelm: "No."

Edward: "What do you mean, no?!"

Aldhelm: "Your father's battle with Clayton caused enough destruction to Wessex. We're tired of this nonsense. The people don't want high technology anymore. We just want to live in peace."

Edward: "I'm the king now, and I order you and all soldiers to attack Cortan immediately!"

Aldhelm: "Believe me, Edward—no one will listen to you. No one will risk their life for your foolish revenge. History has proven that Cortan is the strongest kingdom. We shouldn't provoke them. We can live in peace and be content with what we have."

Edward: "My father taught me never to settle for less."

Aldhelm: "Your father was wrong."

Edward gets angry: "Don't you dare insult my father!"

He attacks Aldhelm, but the advisor blocks his attacks, punches him several times, and knocks him to the ground.

Aldhelm: "You have two choices: forget about Cortan and rule your kingdom properly, or step down and let someone else do it. There's no third option."

Edward: "You and everyone in this kingdom are traitors. This place disgusts me. I'll leave and find another kingdom to help me. You'll see—I'll conquer Cortan, kill Clayton, and get my revenge!"

Aldhelm: "Fine. Do as you wish. Just leave."

Edward leaves, frustrated and furious. He begins his journey searching for a kingdom that might help him achieve his goal, but the further he goes, the more hopeless he becomes. Every kingdom he visits refuses to help. Eventually, he reaches Denmark, where he decides to give up—he realizes no one will aid him. Even if someone did, would it be enough? Cortan is the strongest kingdom. Edward's anger and thirst for revenge blind him from this truth.

He can't return to Wessex since it now has a new ruler and the people are content. So Edward looks for a job—the best he finds is as a janitor in a tavern in Denmark. Irony at its finest—from a prince to a cleaner. Depressed by his downfall, Edward spends his wages on alcohol. His life is miserable, and this continues for years.

One day, while cleaning the tavern, Edward overhears a man telling a story:

"My friend and I were exploring a cave in the mountains—we heard it contained treasure. But what we found was something stranger: an old man surrounded by a green aura, with glowing green eyes. He told us he possessed a mysterious power and that anyone who wanted it had to pass certain trials. My friend volunteered, not knowing that failing one meant death. When he died, I was horrified and ran away. I'll never enter a cave again."

The people listening laughed and called the man crazy. But Edward… Edward believed him. He asked where the cave was.

The man: "Why would you want to go there?"

Edward: "I have a goal, and I think that mysterious power could help me."

The man: "Did you even listen? You can't get it unless you pass deadly tests—you could die."

Edward: "Why do you care about my life? Just tell me where it is."

The man refused, so Edward handed him all the money he had earned.

Edward: "What about now?"

The man agreed and gave Edward the cave's coordinates.

Edward travels to the cave, where he meets the old man—the rumors were true. A green aura surrounds him. His name is Thrax.

Edward: "Uh… hello."

Thrax: "I'm not your friend or some ordinary being to greet."

Edward: "Uh, sorry. I heard you grant people special powers if they pass your trials."

Thrax: "That's right."

Edward: "I want that power. But before we start, I'm curious—what's the purpose of all this? What do you gain from testing people and granting them powers?"

Thrax: "I am not bound by your human nature or laws. I don't care about gain. My duty is to grant the Power of Weapon Creation to the worthy. Only those strong and resilient enough may wield it. Many have tried; all failed—and many died. Will you be like them, or will you be the first to succeed and become the first true weapon maker?"

Edward: "I hope to be the latter."

Thrax: "Are you sure you want to proceed? These trials will be painful—and possibly fatal."

Edward: "At this point in my life, I don't care if I die. I've lived in depression for three years. If I succeed, I'll finally move forward. If I die, at least my suffering ends."

Thrax raises his hand, and the first trial begins—a maze of deadly traps.

Thrax: "The first trial: survive and make it out alive."

Edward endures the traps; he's had similar training from his father back in Wessex. At the end, his leg gets caught and severed—but he survives.

Thrax heals his leg.

Edward: "Why did you do that?"

Thrax: "It's part of the rules. If you survive a trial, I heal your wounds so you can continue."

Next, Thrax summons a giant ogre. Edward must kill it.

Edward has never fought a monster before, but after a long struggle, using wit and desperation, he kills it by choking it with his own arm bone after the ogre ripped off his flesh.

Thrax: "Impressive. Most die here. But you… you give everything to survive."

Edward, panting: "What's the next challenge?"

Thrax heals him again. The next trial is mental—an illusion where Edward lives out his greatest fantasy: ruling Cortan, avenging his father, worshipped by all. But Edward realizes it's fake and breaks free.

Thrax: "I entered your mind to see your dream. Had you accepted it, you would have died instantly. You resisted your desires—impressive."

Edward: "Maybe it wasn't real now, but one day, it will be."

After more trials, Edward proves himself worthy.

Thrax: "This power lets you create weapons from nothing—any weapon you've seen or imagined can become real: swords, guns, bombs, rockets—limitless. My duty here is done. I'll vanish and return in a century to test again."

Thrax disappears, leaving Edward alone.

Edward imagines a blaster pistol—it forms in his hand. He fires at a rock; it shatters. He smiles, knowing he has hope again.

He trains relentlessly—learning to shoot, to wield energy swords, to fight creatively. But soon he wants to test his power on living targets.

A carriage of three Japanese travelers—ninjas—passes by. Edward attacks, destroys the carriage, and says:

"Hello, my Asian friends. I don't know if you understand me, but I recently gained a new power, and I'd like to test it. You look like skilled fighters—perfect."

They attack. Edward kills two easily, and the third—Kai—escapes using a smoke bomb.

Edward laughs, looking at the corpses. For the first time, he feels powerful—not a failure, not a depressed janitor, but someone special.

He decides to change his name.

"Hmm… what should my new name be? Faz? Alpha? Jack? John? Osama? Hmm… I'll think about it later. For now, I need an army."

At first, he considers returning to Wessex to arm its knights, but changes his mind. Instead, he goes to Denmark—the land of the Vikings. Why? Two reasons: they're physically strong, and they respect power.

He challenges their king, Ragnar, saying:

"You Vikings have a law—the strongest rules. I challenge you for the throne."

Ragnar laughs: "Aren't you the tavern janitor? I won't waste my time with a failure."

Edward: "Afraid to fight a janitor? How shameful."

Provoked, Ragnar accepts. They duel. Edward could easily summon a gun, but he fights fair—he wants respect. After ten minutes, he kills Ragnar and becomes king of Denmark.

Later, he addresses the people:

"People of Denmark, you all know the kingdom of Cortan—their advanced weapons, flying machines, robots, armored suits. You've all dreamed of such power. But Clayton, the arrogant ruler, refuses to share. He believes his people are superior, the only ones worthy of luxury. But we—the Vikings—are the strongest! We deserve that technology! That's why I sought a way to defeat them. And now, I've found it. I have a power that lets me create weapons—guns, missiles, bombs, anything—and in unlimited numbers. I'll give them to you and train you. Together, we'll conquer Cortan!"

The crowd cheers: "Long live King Edward!"

Edward continues: "Once, I was a failure. But now, with this power, I am reborn. A new life… a new name. From now on, I am Alvarez."

Now, you may wonder—if Alvarez could make advanced weapons, why didn't Cortan study them to replicate them? Because Alvarez's weapons are made of energy—they resemble Cortan's weapons but can't be analyzed or reproduced.

Alvarez spends years training the Vikings to use guns, rockets, energy swords, and bombs. Yet he feels something's missing. Equal power isn't enough—he wants guaranteed victory.

One day, a Viking named Thordak reports seeing a black-robed man kill a bear with magic. Alvarez goes to investigate but gets ambushed and captured by the sorcerer, bound with magical rings.

The sorcerer: "Don't resist. These are my own spell-forged chains. Who are you, and why are you following me?"

Alvarez: "…"

Sorcerer: "Why don't you answer?"

Alvarez: "I'm just shocked by your face—fangs, black eyes, beastly features, and a deep voice. Are you even human?"

Sorcerer: "None of your business. Answer me."

Alvarez: "Relax. I'm not here to harm you. One of my men told me about your magic. I thought you could be useful to my army, so I came to recruit you."

Sorcerer: "Then leave. I'm not anyone's tool."

Alvarez: "Trust me—if you join me, you'll be more than a tool. I can tell you're lonely, living in this cave. I plan to conquer Cortan. Help me, and I'll give you a better life."

Sorcerer: "Cortan? Don't make me laugh. The only kingdom that could surpass it is Magic Land—and its ruler doesn't care about them. You'll never win."

Alvarez: "There's always a way. I have a plan—but I need your power to make it work. Think about it: if we succeed, you'll live in the greatest kingdom in history."

Sorcerer: "Hmm…"

Alvarez: "Take your time. I'll leave for now."

He forms a light sword and cuts through the magic ring holding him.

The sorcerer is stunned.

Alvarez: "I could've done that anytime—but I wanted to make my offer first."

He leaves peacefully, hoping to gain the sorcerer's trust.

That sorcerer is Klaes, born in Magic Land—the kingdom of sorcery. Once a top student, Klaes stole a forbidden book of dark magic seeking greater power. Studying it twisted his body and soul—fangs, claws, black eyes. When caught, he refused to return the book, fought his teachers, and fled after causing massive destruction. Since then, he lived alone in a cave. His pursuit of strength left him homeless and empty—until Alvarez's offer.

After thinking it through, Klaes visits Alvarez's castle.

Klaes: "I've decided to join you—but on one condition."

Alvarez: "What is it?"

Klaes: "Don't treat me like a servant or tool. Respect my opinions and decisions."

Alvarez: "Of course. Honestly, when I first saw you, I saw myself. You're unique, powerful—like me. We'll make a great team. Now, tell me more about your magic."

Klaes explains his ability to control people's will.

Alvarez: "Mind control, huh? That'll be useful."

He then speaks to a man named Sam, gives him a gun, and says:

"Go to Cortan. Tell them about me and my power. Give them this gun as proof. But don't mention the sorcerer. I have a plan—it will work."

And with that, the events of Chapter 6 take place. In Chapter 8, we'll see Alvarez's invasion of the kingdom of Cortan.
