Chapter 57 - Chapter 56: Learning Holy Undead Magic

Qian Renxue did not hesitate for a second. "I accept."

She dropped to her knees in the spirit sea and gave a formal kowtow to Electrolux, a gesture to show absolute respect and reverence to one's master.

Electrolux raised a brow, his calm face softening slightly.

"Good disciple… no need to kowtow," he said, though a slight warmth crept into his otherwise measured voice.

No one has ever called him "Master."

Wasting no time, Electrolux began his teaching.

"My Holy Undead magic... is a branch of necromancy that purifies death through light. Unlike the dark necromancers who fuel the undead with evil or resentment, my path calls on the holy element to bring order to death."

Qian Renxue listened closely, her purple-gold eyes reflecting the glowing sigils and diagrams that appeared around her in the spirit sea.

"Only those who possess a deep affinity for light can inherit this path. I was once called the Child of Light. And you, Renxue… born with the Angel Martial Soul, wield the purest divine light in this world."

Electrolux summoned a glowing diagram that spun in the air, displaying rings marked from 1 to 9, similar to soul master ranks.

"The magician's path is divided from Rank 1 to Rank 9. The strength at Rank 1 is roughly equivalent to a ten-year soul ring… but unlike the explosive power of soul skills, magic evolves with understanding and structure."

As Electrolux spoke, a fuzzy white figure yawned nearby.

It was Tianmeng Ice Silkworm, lazily curled up like a soft pillow in the misty corner of the spirit sea. He blinked a few times, noticed Electrolux lecturing, and immediately yawned again before curling back into a nap.

Qian Renxue stared at him.

'This gluttonous worm sleeps through everything.'

Electrolux also noticed him but ignored the sleepy bug. His focus remained entirely on the attentive disciple before him.

"Now, let me explain the foundational principle of Holy Undead Magic. Before you comprehend death, you must first understand life and light."

"Light is not just brilliance. It is order and will. Life is motion, potential, and growth. Death, therefore, is not destruction, it is the stillness that defines life's end. But that doesn't mean death is evil."

He moved his hand, and radiant inscriptions shimmered across the spirit sea.

"Now watch closely."

Electrolux waved his hand, and a demonstration began. A glowing magic circle formed beneath a dead insect lying nearby on a flowertop in her room. A white light burst out from the circle, and the insect's body twitched. Slowly, it floated up, its body faintly translucent, its eyes glowing.

"This is a Rank 1 spell: Rebirth of Light Bone. It allows a simple creature to return to motion."

Qian Renxue's eyes sparkled.

Afternoon

After her lesson ended, Qian Renxue returned to the real world and had a simple lunch prepared by Wu Meng. The maid left quietly, sensing that the young miss needed solitude.

After her meal, Qian Renxue stared at the clean fish bones left on her plate.

'It's dead… technically. Let me try.'

Closing her eyes, she recalled the intricate chant, the glowing formations, the flow of light and intent.

She extended her hand slightly, spiritual power surging.

A soft whoosh of golden light shimmered in her palm… then fizzled out like a candle against the wind.

Failed.

The bones didn't even twitch.

Suddenly, the calm voice of Electrolux echoed within the Spirit Sea.

"Little Renxue, you've only just begun learning magic. You must first solidify your theoretical foundation before attempting practical spells."

But Qian Renxue shook her head, her expression stubborn.

"I want to try."

A faint sigh followed.

Electrolux didn't stop her. He had already seen this determination before, this tenacity burned deep in her soul. Besides, he knew well that failure was also a kind of teaching.

'Even in my world, true magicians don't begin formal spellcasting until after adolescence. No one comprehends the nature of magic at six….'

And so, Qian Renxue began.

Again and again, she chanted the incantation, drew the formation in her spirit, and attempted to activate the spell on the polished fish bones.

And again and again, she failed.

Light either didn't condense properly or flickered out before forming the structure. Sometimes she forgot a node in the diagram; sometimes her focus slipped for just a second. Each time, she corrected something new.

She failed.

Failed again.

Failed twenty times.

Electrolux watched quietly. He said nothing.

Qian Renxue was not giving up.

Even when she reached the 33rd attempt, sweat dripping down her forehead and breath short, her fingers shaking slightly from fatigue, she still tried again.

And she failed again.

Pant... pant...

She finally stopped, her breathing ragged. The bones remained motionless, not a hint of spiritual response.

The issue wasn't her will or knowledge, it was simple exhaustion. Her soul energy reserves were depleted from over an hour of non-stop magic casting attempts.

Qian Renxue wiped her forehead. Her lips were slightly pale.

But she said nothing.

Instead, she crossed her legs in silence and sat down in a lotus posture. Calmly, she closed her eyes and began to meditate.

Even Electrolux had to admit silently,

'She's only six… and she's already this resolute?'

An hour passed.

When she finally opened her eyes again, they were clear and sharp.

She stood up, extended her palm once more over the clean white bones, and recalled everything she had learned. The chant, the circle, the light, the intention.

This time, she didn't rush.

She built it with care.

Soft radiant glyphs formed at her fingertips, coalescing into a pale golden formation. The warmth of divine light began to wrap around the bones.

Buzz—

And then, with a soft flash, the bones twitched.

The bones trembled slightly, jerking, twitching, as if they remembered what it was like to swim in water. Though there was no sea around them, the undead fish tried to sway, flopping weakly on the table.

The fish skeleton trembled faintly in the golden light and floated into the air. Its eyes, nonexistent before now glowed faintly with a dim white-blue hue.

It was weak, rudimentary and primitive. But it was her first undead.

Qian Renxue blinked in shock. Then she smiled.

"I… did it."
