Chapter 24 - CHAPTER 20: The Dream III (2)

The treasury of the king was a collection of every treasure of the earth. Born as the king of the entire world he was the owner of everything on earth.

He collected every object that fancied him or attracted his interest. Then as time went on the treasures started being attracted by the treasury itself and started falling into its owner's hand with no effort on the king's part.

They were his pride and one of the few things he could never get tired of in his life.

And yet now he was forced to use these same treasures, objects of his pride to survive.

At the same instant when the thing's fist hit the shield, two swords cut off both its hands.

TWHACK

Now free from its restraint he turned his body and used his one free leg to knee its flank.

Now freed from the restriction on his divinity the king stood back on his feet, behind him his treasury unfolded.

"You dirty clod of mud, I'll never forget this humiliation. I'll return your mangled remains back to the gods that created you."

BOOM BOOM BOOM

The king's treasures were fired and hit the thing's body, but it quickly reassembled to its original shape, its expression now somber.

Its body vibrated and it started running away immediately.

BOOM BOOM BOOM BOOM BOOM

"Running already after talking so big in front of me!? Not a chance, you disgusting thing!!"

Following its path are the king's weapons, every single one of them so incredible and fired with such strength that each one caused earthquakes when they hit the ground.

The citizens cowered in fear from the disaster, but both the king and thing avoided implicating even a single one of them in the aftermath of their confrontation and soon they were both outside the walls of the city of Uruk.

Their chase continued until the city was no longer visible in the distance, they were now surrounded by hills and trees lush with vegetation as forests sprouted as far as the eyes could see.

But this beautiful place was now going to become a battlefield.

RUMBLE RUMBLE RUMBLE BOOM

Lightning came from the sky down to the earth uprooting trees and forming craters, but most importantly it hit the cursed thing.

It staggered under the pressure of the electricity barely standing upright as chunks of hardened mud fell from its frame onto the ground.

"DIE!"

The king advanced relentlessly holding a black lance with both hands, golden magical energy swirled around its tip as he charged straight at the doll to impale it.

But then the crumbs falling for the thing started moving by themselves and took the shape of a spear in its hands.

CLANG

The lance and spear met in a resounding clash, creating shockwaves that propagated throughout the entire forest swaying the trees and bushes. Even in the face of a peerless treasure from his treasury the mud spear could hold its own without trouble.

The doll was made from clay but it was a weapon of the gods themselves, any weapon created from its body was an incredible treasure in its own right, even capable of fighting against the ones owned by the king.

"So you want to turn your body into weapons to fight my treasury? Foolishness, let's see how long you can keep that up, you dirty clod of mud." The king sneered, he was already feeling ashamed enough having to use his vault as a weapon to fight and now this doll wanted to fight him making weapons out of his own body? How dare it!?

"Then, let's see if you have enough mud in store to face me, you damn puppet!"

Enraged, the king fired a shower of spears, swords and knives on his enemy without mercy. But the thing imitated the king's action and without breaking contact with him started releasing weapons made using its own clay from the ground.

BANG BANG BANG BANG BANG BANG BANG

The clash caused great explosions all around them, even coming close to harm the two but both refused to be the one to break their interlocking weapons first.

"King of Uruk." In the middle of their standstill it spoke first. "It is not a matter of whatever I possess enough mud to fight your treasury."

"Oh!? And then what might it be?"

"It's a matter of how long you intend to continue acting like a fool."

"A fool? Me!? You…What would you, a doll made out of clay know? You bastard, you are not even human."

"The gods' wisdom has been bestowed upon me and I learned from a being created by their hands as a complete human and later on from Shamhat as well. I am a complete human being even if I was created from the divine clay of the gods." The thing recorded back matter of factly.

"A complete human being? You!?" The king was incredulous, he could not believe such a thing and his gaze locked on its form, being, soul and everything else that composed the doll in front of him, assessing whatever or not he was telling the truth.

"I will commend you for your pure soul." The king gave a rare compliment as he shook his head. "Perhaps the only redeemable quality a doll like you could ever be proud of, but you are mistaken."

"Unfortunately for you, I am not." It quipped back without hesitation as it was sure of itself.

"You are the fool idiot, I can see everything and I can clearly see that you are not human. To top it off, the fact you even remotely considered that thing to be human shows how lacking your understanding of humanity is, even Ishtar is smart enough to know that thing isn't human. And simply imitating that whore hardly makes you one as well."

"What?" Momentarily shaken by his words the doll got pushed back from its position and stumbled on his feet before he was sent flying by a kick.

"Don't worry too much, your stupidity is most likely another gift from your dear gods."

The king laughed as he threw his lance in pursuit while retrieving a new weapon from his vault, it was a drill like lance with multiple blades at the tip.

It was incredibly big and had to be wielded using both hands, especially for the young king whose body had yet to fully mature. The lance started spinning on itself and winds gathered around it like a tornado.

The strength of the winds propelled him forward at a speed far greater than his own aiming for the mud doll.

The thing realizing the danger raised both his hands in response, from his white sleeves chains started coming out trying to stop the drill lance but they were blown away by currents around the weapons.

Seeing the chains had no effect the thing immediately raised the hardness of its body to its maximum and braced for the attack.

VRIIII CRUNK CRUNK CRUNK CRUNK

"Krgh!" The thing helplessly crashed onto the soil.

The lance drilled continuously and winds cut as sharp as blades but the thing held strong against the onslaught as its body was dragged against a hill.

Chains started coming out from both its body and the earth as they wrapped the king's leg and dragged him away forcefully.

CRACK

The chains yanked the king in the air and slammed him into the ground, sending dirt flying and making a cloud out of the dust raised from the impact.

The thing knew from the gods just how powerful the king was, especially the warning was about the possibility of him becoming whole. However, it thought that if it could make use of the advantage it possessed against divinity it could have defeated him before things ever got that serious.

But it was a mistake, now not only had the king decided to take him seriously in fighting, he also grew stronger in a sense as he now figured out a new way of fighting that didn't involve becoming whole.

Because now even when restrained and dragged around by the chains of heaven that weakened his divinity and grew stronger by feeding on it he could still fight back without a problem.

SSIIIIIIKKK

"What…what is this?" The thing froze, no, not only that but the entire hill with it and the chains as well.

The king discarded the drill like lance when he was getting dragged around and instead took out a sword that froze the space it cut, using it together with what magical energy he could muster under the effect of the chains he froze the entire hill and the thing together with it.

"That's what you get for trying to throw me around like a rag fucker."

Momentarily immobilized by the ice he removed the chains on his legs and took out another weapon from his treasure, it was a colossal object that resembled the wing of some monster that you might hear from passing tales of story tellers, its entire frame seemingly made out of flames and clusters of lava, just its presence started melting the ice.

The king wielded the giant monstrosity as a sword even with his small frame, the weapon was–

"You didn't like the cold? Here, let me warm you up a little then."

Sul-Sagana

A name personally granted to the weapon by the king himself.

A divine construct that could reproduce the power of one of the god of war's twin weapons.

The king swung the colossal abomination with his own hands and burned the entire forest and hills where the doll was engulfing it in the fire.

Amidst the burning hell the thing brought his hands to the ground and as a verdant radiance started spreading from him the fire died down and new plants covered the plain in place of the now ashen forest.

The earth itself started glowing and as nature grew anew the power coming from the ground gathered inside the thing. The soil started glowing in a golden and greenish light under its hand and soon the entire hill was enveloped in this light.

"I thank you for the refreshment and for warming me up. But if you burn down the earth you should be prepared to receive nature's wrath in return."

The soil became connected to its body like an extension of oneself and using it as a medium his clay mixed with it, from the ground weapons of countless shapes and forms made out of mud were shot towards the king.

Countless rippling golden portals appeared in the air, from it a matching number of weapons started pouring down to match the ones made by the doll.

BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM

BANAG BANG BANG BANG BANG

Chaos then ensued.

The clash of weapons seemed never ending. The soil continued birthing new weapons and the vault continued raining treasures, they seemed to persist as if there was no end to the amount they could create/shoot.

All sounds were drowned by the continuous clashing of weapons in the air, and night sky was lit up anew from the confrontation in the sky and the flames boiling in the earth from Sul-Sagana.

The king continued flooding the enemy with the fire produced by his colossal sword and the doll continued dousing the flames that engulfed the earth.

Then the king opened a new gate above him, a massive gate that shot out another colossal sword that flew with incredible speed.

It was a jagged double edged sword with a curved tip and handle seemingly made out of crystal or rocks.

CRAAAASSHHHHH

The next moment the sword cleaved the entire hill and separated it from the ground.

The name of the weapon was Ig-Alima, another divine construct possessed by the king and like Sul-Sagana it was given its name after one of the god of war's twin weapons.

After separating the hill he also hurled Sul-Sagana to the flying mass of land to burn it down to the crisp.

BOOM

Another enormous explosion overtook the sky and blew away the remaining weapons clashing in the air, scattering them in all directions creating a pouring rain of swords, spears and any other arms imaginable.

From them the king caught a sword that was flying in his direction and started running while avoiding the bladed shower without problems. From the burning mass of land that was now falling to the ground chains flew to intercept him but he either avoided or deflected them with his sword.

The thing came out from the flaming rubble and charged at the king without hesitation, chains following after him.

He retrieved a stone tablet shaped like a book, it opened by itself as it floated in the air surrounded by sumerian characters made of light.

"Dingir." The king called out the name of the stone tablet as golden hued gusts of wind and numerous staves came out from his treasury, all controlled from the book and firing various spells that curved their trajectory to automatically aim for their targets.

DIDIDIDIDIDIDIDIDIDI一一一一一一一CLANG

As the spells met with the floating chains, the king and the doll clashed head on, one with a sword in his hand and the other with clay that is a weapon in itself.

SSSSSIIIIIIII SLASH

The king's sword flashed and severed the clay in the doll's hand in half. His foot slammed into the earth, his strength amplified with the power of many treasures that were controlled by Dingir from inside his treasury, his power continued to increase continuously as he tried to chop the doll in half.

The doll slipped aside, its feet skidding against stone escaping the attack by a hair breath. Chains lashed out from its sleeves, wrapping around his right arm which was holding the sword.

"Now this might have been a bit disingenuous right now." The king muttered as the corners of his lips slightly raised.

He flicked his arm backward and even under the restraints on his divinity the doll was pulled forward from the power of his right arm that was under continuous strengthening from his treasures.

Behind his back more weapons were fired to aim at the approaching doll but from its body clay was shot faster than any arrow could ever possibly travel and intercepted all the treasures of the king.

'It's really ridiculous…'

They clashed once again but this time the doll altered his body to possess a level of strength slightly inferior to the king's and overpower in raw speed and mobility.

CLANG CLANG CLANG CLANG CLANG

They fiercely exchanged blow for blow, every clash sent weapons and mud flying in the air. To replenish them the king needed to bring out more treasures from his vault and the doll to create new ones made out of its clay.

CLANG CLANG CLANG CLANG CLANG

When they disengaged they started shooting projectiles at each other again matching weapon for weapon continuously without a break.

'Fighting throwing the treasures in my collection like this…'

The doll started sprinting in the wasted fields of their battlefield charging straight at him with monstrous speed, in its hand a clump of mud charged with an incredible amount of magical energy to the point of glowing in a bright blue light.

Countless treasures rained down on it but the doll swung the mud in its hand like a sword and with astounding speed the doll

of them.

CLANG

The two clashed once again, in this chaotic battlefield decorated with loitered weapons, mud, burning hell and flourishing nature.

'It really is a ridiculous way of fighting, no, maybe extravagant is the right word. But…'

To meet the thing's, no, the doll's mud he wielded two golden twin swords in his hands, they exchanged more blows both moving at tremendous speeds and seemingly continuing to get faster, one due to modifying its body and the other thanks to the swords in his hands.

'I guess, I don't really dislike it as much as I thought. No, maybe it's because it's such an extravagant fighting style that it suits someone like me.'

CLANG

Their weapons locked themselves in a confrontation of power again, in this struggle of power in a direct confrontation a strange quiet overtook the battle. In this moment where the only sound was the grinding of their weapons the king once again ended up looking at the doll's face but this time it was different than before.

Its beautifully vibrant green hairs and eyes decorating the seemingly impossibly charming androgynous face was still present but now…

'Now…'

The smile adorning its face was not an imitation.

'You are finally starting to look more like a human.'

And in its eyes he caught a reflection of his own face at this moment.

'I see…

so I'm also smiling.'

The doll could empathize with any living being and it felt the king's rising thrill from truly fighting for the first time and it felt a surge of its own emotions from this thrill.

The two continued clashing throughout the night without interruption. And before they realized it an entire day already passed by.

He now smiled without hiding his joy and it also responded in kind with its own excitement.

Eventually the king who was floating in the air stopped for a moment without attacking his enemy.

The doll on the ground also stopped, a great sense of foreboding and expectation raised from its inside, overwhelming even the sense of duty that moved it hours before.

"I will now admit it openly. Albeit you are certainly still lacking as a human, you are certainly an incredible adversary worthy of my respect."

The king openly admitted with a smile gracing his lips even as his body was covered in sweat and blood.

"...Yes, thank you for your praise. Even if somewhat different from what you are feeling, I also feel awe for you and your power."

The doll smiled gracefully and returned the king's respect with its own. But the doll wasn't done talking yet.

"However I hope you still have more in store inside your treasury, king of Uruk, because I'm still far off from using all of my "mud", as you called it."

"That's good then. I was starting to fear I wouldn't have the chance to utilize the rest of my treasures.

Actually counting how highly I'm evaluating you now I ought to treat you with utmost respect and bring forth my greatest article for you to behold."

The king extended his right hand and grasped the air at his side.

CRACK

Space fractured like broken glass and from the distortion something came out.

Its handle resembled that of a sword but the rest of its body looked like a pillar with red incisions on it.

"The treasure I'll show is…My whole self."

The king was born as a wedge the gods intended to use to persist their existence in the world outside even as the True Ether disappeared.

He connected the gods(Heaven) to the humans(Man) who worshipped them and let them roam the planet(Earth).

He was to be the very unification of Heaven, Man and Earth.

His physical body was the mixture of a god and a human but his birth was blessed by the very planet as he was born the ruler of all lands.

But the gods had no intention of creating a being who might surpass them so they split him into two bodies, severely weakening his potential.

One the body of flesh of the strongest demigod (Heaven and Man).

The other, the core of a divine construct made from the inner furnace of the planet(Earth).

The two are one and the same.

The divine construct could only be wielded by the flesh.

And the flesh body was the only one who could wield the weapon.

After all, who would ever let someone else wield their own limbs voluntarily.

Only the world's greatest scammer in history might manage something like that, but even then the chances are dismal.

So when he wielded it the king became a complete being albeit imperfectly.

In essence he became his whole self as both parts of him are now present.

"I see, so that's the form the core took. But it's strange it shouldn't have been…that powerful. What have you done?" The doll observed the cylindrical sword with mixed feelings that it couldn't explain properly.

"Yes… this is my ideal. The end goal of my aspirations. To you especially this should be extremely obvious to the eye, so stop denying it and accept reality." Indeed originally the core was formless as it would take a form as the king grew.

The doll knew the existence of it and feared the power the king might have possessed when he took it out but it never would have imagined that it would become something like that.

And it shouldn't have, the imperfect nature of its birth should have made it impossible. But the king's perspective far surpassed the gods' so he found a way to work around it.

If his second self couldn't develop to be strong enough to achieve his dreams by itself then he would just give up on creating a weapon out of it.

He is not a blacksmith after all, he is a king.

If he couldn't make what he wanted, he would take it from someone else.

And so mixed his other self with something else that already existed but lacked a form of its own and gave it one using that very core.

And like that he took hold of something no being should ever have after its creator.

It wasn't a weapon, as the concept had yet to even have been remotely thought about, but it could be called a tool. It was created in the long past by a mysterious god at the very beginning of the world.

But he turned that tool into a weapon

And made it into his own alter ego.

And for the doll who was the greatest weapon of the gods themselves could immediately understand what the purpose of that sword was and what it was based on.

"You wish to recreate the myth yourself and make it into a weapon for yourself."

"Well… not exactly but you aren't far off either." The king chuckled in response.

"Anyway the formalities are over. I believe I've given you enough time to prepare. Now it's our turn Ea!"

SHIUSHIUSHIUSHIUSHIUSHIUSHIU

The cylinder, that was in the place where the blade should have been, started spinning violently. Creating what appeared to be red gusts of wind that gathered around the weapons that shined like a red star in the twilight of the sky.

Meanwhile on the ground the dried and charger lands glowed in an iridescent light as the plants came back to life. The brilliance spread to cover the entire hill, forest and mountains, going even beyond what could be seen with one's own eyes.

The sky shined red and the earth glowed green.

This was the recreation of the legendary myth of creation.

"Then to face you who hold such power in your hands I'll use every ounce of my strength!"

The shine gracing the earth started rippling and the doll touched the grass with its own hands.

"Now that's the spirit! HAHAHAHAHAHA."

The sky lost all colors, there were no more clouds or sun anymore, only the stars from the cosmos and among them a red one shined the brightest.

The name of the great myth of creation.

One part of it was embodied by the king's single minded objective.

The other was embodied by the strongest weapon of the gods who overthrew their own parents.

The myth's name was

ENUMA ELISH

Hello I hope you enjoyed the chapter.

For information my whole heaven, man and earth part is my way of explaining gilgamesh and his possible endpoint of the alterego class in strange fake. It's my way to hint at it.

I originally hoped for the 10th volume of strange fake to have been already out so if they added other info on him i could have used them for this but we don't even have a status sheet of altergilgamesh so if something were to come out to contradict it in the future it is what it is

Anyway onto the explanation from what we know and what i wrote

I made gilgamesh in previous chapter say that he will renounce his humanity to be the last god of men and then he will throw away that as well to be reborn a true man.

From strange fake we know that after this possible gilgamesh(who never met enkidu) finished his solo journey he drained the blood of the gods from his body to the last drop and he became gold.

Not human but gold so for this fic see it as that, gilgamesh was about to throw away his humanity, he became a god, then if he didn't met enkidu he would have thrown away his godhood after helping humanity separate from them BUT he would have already lost his human self so here comes the Earth part i mentioned and so he would become gold to fill in the void and so become a system with only the purpose to elevate humanity that we know.

What purpose did this explanation serve? none, thanks for reading my wild theory😃, oh and it helped me come up with a reasonable explanation for why Ea is his alter ego, next chap will explore more on that.

Leave comments, reviews, power stones, your bitc--coff, whatever u can spare for me.

And no Jackson I'm not releasing any gil x enkidu smut
