When Sally took the tray full of cookies out of the oven, the doorbell rang, catching her attention.
"Percy, dear, can you get the door?" Sally asked loudly as she carefully placed the hot tray on the counter. Not hearing her son's reply, she sighed and took off her oven mitts.
Walking to the door, she opened it with a warm smile on her lips, seeing a boy and a girl holding hands. Both wore caps, but she could still perfectly see both their faces. They were beautiful, both the boy and the girl.
"Can I help you with something?" She asked with a smile, but there was a touch of caution in her blue eyes. Perfectly normal, knowing her ex-boyfriend's origins. Anyone who looked supernaturally beautiful was probably someone related to the divine.
"I came to visit my cousin." Thalia said in a gentle tone and looked curiously at the beautiful woman before her. And she had to admit, Poseidon really had good taste in women. The woman, besides having a naturally comforting and gentle aura, was surprisingly beautiful.
Sally's eyes widened, hearing the girl's words, but she quickly understood what was happening. After hesitating for a moment, she opened the door, allowing both teenagers to enter.
She didn't believe that two teenagers would come to her house, a mortal, to cause any kind of trouble.
"I'm Thalia Grace, this is Godwyn, my boyfriend. Percy is my cousin; his father is my father's brother." Thalia introduced herself as she sat on the old but still comfortable sofa. She looked at the woman with a sincere gaze and took off her cap, letting her medium-length black hair fall over her shoulders.
Sally visibly relaxed at the girl's words, displaying such a gentle smile that even Thalia's defenses crumbled like Rome. She said in a warm tone, "Would you like some cookies and juice?"
Thalia nodded and watched the woman go towards the kitchen. Sighing, she whispered to Godwyn, "This woman is dangerous; I practically lowered my defenses before her. That's scary!"
"After all, she's the woman who changed the God of the Sea from an arrogant jerk to a slightly dignified man." Godwyn replied in a calm tone, not at all surprised by Sally's gentle aura. The woman managed to change Poseidon, a Greek god, showing how terrifying a woman's love could be.
Thalia let out a long sigh, admiring the mortal being named Sally, an incredible woman so far.
Suddenly, a young boy's voice sounded, catching Thalia and Godwyn's attention.
"Who are you?"
Looking at the boy with black hair and sea-green eyes, watching them cautiously, both exchanged glances and laughed. The boy seemed quite cautious and vigilant, ready to pounce on them at the slightest hint of danger.
"I'm your cousin, seaweed brain!" Thalia said with an arrogant tone, crossing her arms below her developing chest. She looked disdainfully at the almost ten-year-old boy.
"Cousin? Never mind, Pinecone Face!" Percy showed a surprised expression, but soon looked equally arrogant at the black-haired girl with electrifying blue eyes. She was the most beautiful girl he had ever seen in his life, but that didn't stop him from appearing proud before her.
Although he didn't know why he called Thalia "Pinecone Face," Percy instinctively felt that the nickname was quite fitting for the girl who claimed to be his cousin.
"Puff!" Godwyn started to laugh at Percy's words, making Thalia look at him with a fierce gaze, before giving the same fierce look to Percy. She was really annoyed by the nickname Percy gave her.
"It seems I have to teach you the fist of love, seaweed brain!" Thalia said in a threatening tone. She quickly got behind him and wrapped her arm around his neck. Using her fist, she punched Percy's head.
The little boy felt the impact on his head and felt like he was seeing stars; however, he soon recovered and showed that he was worthy of being Poseidon's son. He freed himself from Thalia's grip and began to fight back with anger and a slightly excited look.
Obviously, Thalia was not afraid of a small demigod and began to teach Percy the true fist of love.
A few seconds later, Percy was on the floor, arms and legs spread, breathing heavily. Even feeling pain in his body, his gaze remained untamed as always. This made Thalia show a satisfied look at this cousin she had never met.
"You can fight, that's good, seaweed brain." Thalia said, offering her hand to Percy, who accepted it and got up from the floor with an expression full of helplessness.
"That hurt, Tyrannosaurus Rex." Percy said in a weak tone, rubbing his head, the spot where Thalia had attacked him the most. He felt that his head was really hard to withstand the relentless attacks of the girl before him.
"It seems you've already met." Sally returned with a tray of cookies, smiled, and saw that Thalia and Percy were close to each other. She found it very cute that they were so close, showing that they quickly became friends.
Thalia looked fiercely at Percy and stroked his hair with a gentle gaze; she was furious at being called Tyrannosaurus Rex. Her hand held his head tightly, making poor Percy look at her with resentment, feeling the pain in his head.
"You'd better cooperate or I'll throw you out the window, you land dolphin." Thalia whispered to Percy with a gentle look. She didn't want to hurt Sally; the woman was too kind to be hurt.
Percy looked at her with an angry gaze but nodded, feeling weak for not defeating a girl.
"Yes, we became great friends." Thalia said with a smile as she looked at Percy with a piercing, yet gentle, gaze. "Yes, Mom, we're great friends now." With no option to refuse, Percy yielded to the pressure and spoke in a gentle tone.
Both looked at each other with smiles and gentle glances, but inside, both began to criticize each other without any hesitation.
Godwyn wanted to laugh but held back, although his trembling shoulders showed that he wasn't holding back enough. He found the scene incredibly amusing; he never thought Thalia and Percy could have such an interesting relationship.
"Hello, Percy, I'm your cousin's boyfriend; you can call me Godwyn." Godwyn introduced himself with a smile as he extended his hand to the almost ten-year-old boy.
Percy, who was cursing Thalia to be alone for eternity, was shocked to hear Godwyn's introduction. He looked at the boy with golden hair and eyes with an incredulous gaze. He couldn't believe that the Tyrannosaurus Rex actually had a boyfriend!
Was it blackmail? Perhaps kidnapping!? In young Percy's eyes, no one truly deserved to date such a violent and strong girl. So, he felt that the boy was being blackmailed or even kidnapped!
Percy couldn't help but cast a pitying look at Godwyn but promised to help this unknown boy; after all, the enemy of my enemy is my friend!
If Godwyn knew the boy's thoughts, he would have lamented his fate, for Annabeth was even worse than Thalia.
"Nice to meet you, Godwyn." Percy acted much more politely than he did with Thalia, making the girl raise an eyebrow with a slightly fierce look.
Thalia felt her fists begin to itch again; she felt she still had much to teach Percy the art of the fist of love, to express how much she would like to guide her young cousin.
Poor Percy felt a shiver run through his body and looked at Thalia cautiously, feeling that he would be attacked at any moment.
When Thalia and Godwyn were about to speak, both their faces changed drastically; an unbearable stench simply reached both their noses. Neither Godwyn nor Thalia had ever smelled such a bad odor in their lives.
Imagine the smell of rotten meat decomposing for a long time, then multiply it by ten, and you wouldn't even come close to the smell Thalia and Godwyn were experiencing at that moment. Both wanted to tear off their own noses so as not to smell such a stench again. Once in a lifetime was enough for them.
