Chapter 3 - Chapter 3: Exam? Luck is on My Side

Although Leo Bright isn't a genius, he's no fool either. He's just too lazy to study. Even so, given his true potential, he shouldn't be at the bottom of the class.

Not to the extent where most of the test paper seems incomprehensible.

But that's the predicament now. More than half of the 30 multiple-choice questions and 20 true-false questions are utterly baffling.

What kind of test is this???

Is it over the top?

Leo looked around subconsciously and noticed that others didn't share his headache. On the contrary, they began working on the test paper right away.

Even the muscular guy, Flash Thompson, looked very relaxed.

Seriously! Have I really dropped to this level???

"Leo, focus on your test paper, don't turn your head," Professor Will sternly reprimanded.

Leo shrugged helplessly and sighed.

He picked up his pen, wrote his name, and glanced at the first question. It mentioned something about a quantum molecule collider experiment and included a list of element names he didn't recognize.

Leo gritted his teeth and decided to choose C whenever unsure!

Do or die!

With determination, Leo lifted his pen to write his answer on the answer sheet.

But then, a flash of insight with a 'wake-up' effect shot through his mind, followed by a tingling sensation like having a few hairs pulled at the back of his head.

"?"

"Danger?"

"From where?"

"Is someone finally going to blow up the school?"

The pen Leo held hovered in the air, but after a moment, nothing happened.

Could it be...???

A brilliant idea formed in Leo's mind...

Professor Will looked at Leo, who seemed deep in thought, with dissatisfaction. The test papers he distributed were straightforward, covering topics discussed in class, basic theories, and judgments.

How could this kid not know these things?

While irritated, he stood up and looked toward Leo's test paper.

Seeing it, he was also stunned.

Uh... I gave him the wrong test paper. No wonder. He seemed thoughtful, but it turns out I handed over the test meant for myself...

Just as Will was about to retrieve Leo's test paper and give him the correct one, he stopped, stunned.

What did he see?

The student in front of him was frantically filling in the answers!

Oh! My God! Could he be scribbling randomly? That test paper was challenging even for me!

Yet Leo spent only about five seconds on each question!

How was he doing that?

Professor Will took out his phone, compared Leo's answers one-by-one.

Unbelievable...a prodigy...

It couldn't be!!! Yet, it was! All correct!

Could it be...this kid is truly a different kind of genius???

No matter what Professor Will thought.

At that moment...

Leo was having an internal monologue.

"Ah... I'll die if I can't answer this question. Should I choose A for this one?" Beast Instinctively activated, and the nervous system at the back of his head felt a few hairs being grabbed.

"Oh, there's danger, forget it, choose B," Beast Instinctively activates...

"Ah...Is D the right choice?"

"Oh...it is D!"

The thrill of quickly filling in answers was exhilarating!

Averaging five seconds per question, and compressing the next twenty true-false questions to three seconds each.

In total, it took about three minutes. Leo put down the pen, let out a long breath, and scratched the back of his head.

Honestly...the back of my head is a bit itchy, probably overstimulated.

Beast Instinct... Initially, Leo thought it was merely a conditioned reflex. Unexpectedly, this Ability actually possesses predictive capacity.

Predict danger and react instinctively!

With the belief that choosing the wrong answer would be disastrous, Leo completed the difficult test paper that even Professor Will found challenging in less than five minutes.

Of course.

These were multiple-choice and true/false questions only.

For other question types, Beast Instinct wouldn't work either.

Professor Will's mouth was agape in shock, and his expression was rather amusing. He stood frozen for about 20 seconds, pondering life.

After a while, still in disbelief, he handed Leo the original test paper, signaling him to take another shot.

Leo was a bit surprised, looking at the new paper.

This set was much simpler, the questions weren't difficult, and his knowledge reserve could handle them.

But...

There's no need for a backup plan, right? He's not a tech-savvy wizard like "Wu Wukai-Reubenwei."

Beast Instinct, On!

Brush, brush!

More adept this time. For the entire test paper, Leo put down his pen almost immediately after three minutes.

From Professor Will's perspective, Leo seemed like a prodigy, writing down the correct answer with just a glance at any question.

A genius!

A prodigy!

Unconsciously, Professor Will's view of Leo changed, even admiring him.

Recalling their debate and Leo's seriousness and persistence on pronunciation, Professor Will admired him even more.

Perhaps only such dedicated students could possess such talent!

Leo didn't know what Professor Will was thinking. Seeing him stunned, he thought.

This guy must be prejudiced. Others get one set; I get two, and he watches me like a hawk.

Look at you, Thompson threw a note next to him, did you really not see it, or did you pretend not to see it?

"Cough, cough," Leo pretended to cough twice, then glanced at Thompson unintentionally.

Professor Will, who originally focused all his attention on Leo, naturally noticed Thompson discreetly passing a note.

"Hey, Thompson, what are you doing!" Professor Will stormed over.

Leo watched with amusement as the farce ended with Thompson being called to the principal's office.

An anxious Thompson glared at Leo and made a throat-slashing gesture.

Leo lazily picked at his ear, flicked imaginary earwax in Thompson's direction.

Thompson was furious, his face turning red with anger, signaling—you're dead!

Leo remained unfazed.

When he first arrived, the two had a scuffle over Peter's business.

Thompson was the star of the intramural basketball team and resembled a gorilla.

However, Leo's physical fitness was top-notch. He loved skateboarding, parkour, and his hobby was pushing limits.
