Chapter 4 - Chapter 4: First Bell, New Beginnings

Modern Indian school, light humor, sweet chemistry

The school corridor buzzed with noise — footsteps, laughter, and the occasional shout from a senior. Raj adjusted his backpack and walked lazily toward his classroom. Just another regular day, or so he thought.

As he entered the classroom… he froze.

There she was.

Anamika Verma.

Sitting quietly near the window, wearing the same school uniform.

Raj blinked twice. "Wait… WHAT?!"

Before he could process it, his benchmate Aryan nudged him with a grin.

Aryan (grinning): "Bro… your dream girl just entered your world."

Raj (still shocked): "She didn't even tell me she was changing schools!"

Anamika looked up, met Raj's eyes, and smiled. She bit her lower lip slightly, holding back laughter.

Raj (muttering under his breath): "She really enjoys messing with my heartbeat."

He walked over and sat down next to her.

Raj (whispering): "You call this a good morning?"

Anamika (teasing): "Just thought I'd start your day with a little shock therapy."

Raj: "Well, mission accomplished. I might need CPR."

Anamika (smiling): "Oops. I forgot to bring my first aid kit."

Just then, the teacher walked in.

Teacher: "We have a new student today. Anamika Verma, please stand."

Anamika stood up. The whole class turned toward her.

Teacher: "You'll sit next to Raj. He's responsible."

The class instantly erupted —

"Oooooooohhh!"

Someone from the back shouted, "When's the wedding, bro?!"

Raj's face turned bright red. Anamika just smirked and sat down casually.

Lunch Break – Under the Tree

Anamika (opening her tiffin): "Mom made paneer today."

Raj (peeking into her lunchbox): "Are you trying to make me fall in love with food or with you?"

Anamika (tossing a piece at him): "Focus on the food, Mr. Flirt."

Raj (smiling): "Not gonna lie… you look extra cute in our school uniform."

Anamika (blushing): "Stop flirting. We're in school!"

Raj (grinning): "Flirting doesn't come with location rules, sweetheart."

She rolled her eyes, but her smile gave her away.

After Lunch – On the Way Back to Class

As they walked back to class, Raj quietly slipped a tiny folded note into Anamika's hand.

Anamika (raising an eyebrow): "What's this?"

Raj (with a cheeky smile): "Nothing serious. Just another heart attack."

She opened it.

"Warning: Sitting next to you is dangerous for my heart.

But I'd take that risk every single day."

She couldn't stop smiling through the rest of the class.

And Raj?

He just leaned back in his seat, watching her smile, thinking —

"Yep… this school year is going to be legendary."
