Chapter 4 - Chapter three: Finding out about Xuan Yuan empire

Since Iris followed her mother to the library, she has been sitting on the huge semi circle shaped couch reading the historical books about the empire. When her mother Mrs Long saw this, she suggested some fairytale books for Iris but Iris politely decline and focused on the historical books.

The historical books mainly talked about the division of powers. Xuan Yuan empire was divided into four parts, the northern, southern, eastern and Western parts with the capital city in the middle.

Winter wood village was located in the outer part of the Southern region. The historical books also talked about several martial powers which was know as sects. Since the very beginning of Xuan Yuan empire, the strongest sect that even royal family needed to pay respect to, was the Sage pavilion. It was said that no one knew when the Sage pavilion began but everyone knew that any disciple of the Sage pavilion was an unrivaled genius because, the Sage pavilion had thousands of martial and cultivation texts and training that will improve ones physic and foundation. The leaders of this sect were known as the Holy sons. Rumours had it that, the Holy sons possessed Divine powers and could flatten the whole Xuan Yuan empire by their nonchalant wave of hand.

There were other smaller sects but there was no way for them to compare to the Sage pavilion.

Aside from that, the historical books talked about another two empires that made up this realm. The Sage pavilion had the respect and reverence of all the royals in these empire.

After reading all the historical books, Iris decided to take a walk around town. She wasn't scared of being attacked because even if her new body was weak, her senses as an assassin would never fail her.

While walking around town, Iris noticed people's gaze on her but chose to ignore it. She decided to take a look at the crowded area and saw news posted on the wall of a shop. It was about a martial test. If a person passes that test, he or she would be taken to the capital city of the southern region where they'll pass another test and probably be selected by sects and surprisingly, the amazing Sage pavilion would also be selecting disciples!. It was no wonder the shop was crowded and people were bustling with excitement.

"Maybe I should try..... even if I don't get selected, it'll help me build my experience" Iris mutter's to herself only to hear people laughing and pointing at her in mockery.

"You?! Everyone knows you're just a trash who relies on your younger brother like a parasite and you're still thinking of trying with such trashy body of yours?" A young girl says and everyone bursts into laughter.

"So stupid! Xi fei don't bother about her let's go share the good news with brother Feng" the second girl says wanting to pull the first girl away.

The girl named Xi fei seemed determined to embarrass Iris but this new Long Xu lan was not a push over! Xi fei, using her bit of cultivation, pushed Iris hoping she'll fall and make a fool of herself as always. But, Iris was able to avoid the push. Xi fei thought she had succeeded after pushing Iris and so, she turned to leave.

"Hey.!" Iris called out and the moment Xi fei turned, Iris threw a swift kick on her stomach and since Xi fei couldn't keep up with the speed of a trained assassin from the twenty first century, she fell heavily in the most embarrassing manner while people stood dumbfounded.

Iris then coldly entered the shop to register her name with five gold coins leaving behind the whimpering Xi fei and the dumbfounded people.
