Chapter 7 - Chapter 7: Restrained

She turned to him and smirked. Going against Ethan was one of her wishes then. He was always too proud and she had one day thought beating him will be the best way to teach him a lesson.

She attacked him but he defended with his sword. Her two blades crashed at the center of his sword and with a slash they distances themself. The sound of metal clashing filled the air as sparkes ignite form their clashes. They were both fast in attacks and defence. Lilith had controlled her flames to settle in her blade for effect and it raised her chances of winning to one out of equal. Yet Ethan didn't falter.

Lilith did a summer kick aiming to stab his chest, but as expected, he blocked it she disappeared at his back with high speed and stabbed him but then again he had blocked.

What the heck? Had Ethan gotten this strong? To be equal to her? No. It can't be. She knew it had been decades she had fought but still she shouldn't have been this weak to not even match Ethan.

Lilith began to loose hope when she had an idea. She feigned a hit with her left fist direct to his face but when he had dodged, she immediately drove one of her blades into his abdomen.

They had both paused and it felt like time stopoed but when Lilith felt liquid dripping down his abdomen she grinned. Ethan had coughed out blood and his eyes dimmed but he still had that smile on his face. His gaze went to her side before he drew back. He staggered away from her as blood dripped from his abdomen.

Lilith wanted to finish the job when she felt a sharp pain at her sides. She looked at Ethan and that smile now made sense to her. They had come prepared and whatever he had used on her was working. Her body began to weaken and her eyes became blurry. She felt her powers become lesser and limited and she fought the urge to pass out. She managed to walk some steps heading to her house and when she reached the front porch, she finally blacked out.

. . .

When her eyes fluttered open, it was morning already. Lilith found her self on a bed. She checked her surroundings and she realised she was in her room. How she got here she had no idea and what had happened after she passed out was not registerd in her memories also. She sat at the edge of the bed and tossled her hair. Something felt wrong about her and she felt weak. The stings at her sides got her to remember what happened and it occured to her that most of her powers have been sealed.

A knock disrupted her thoughts and she looked in the direction of the door. Malia put her head by the door and looked at her.

"Oh. You're awake." She walked in. "Are you alright?"

"Yeah. At least." Lilith formed a neutral expression.

"What happened last night?" Malia sat beside her. "I just found you outside in the porch unconscious."

" It's nothing Malia." She stood up, packed up her hair and headed to the bathroom.

"Nothing?"

"Yup."Lilith had put on the shower and the splashing sounds filled the room

"Right...." Malia knew everything that happened. She saw Lilith fight Ethan and his men but she didn't quite know why Malia passed out. She watched how Malia just lost strength after stabbing Ethan. It was so unlike Lilith to no finish up a fight but her sudden loss of strength and how it looked like the flames in her eyes dimmed was what intrigued her.

"So.... You didn't tell me about your mission." Malia laid on the bed and stared at the ceiling.

"What's there to tell you about?"

"If it's progressing?"

"Well..... No." Lilith walked out of the bathroom and went to her dresser. Sitting on the chair she faced the mirror as she fixed her hair.

"What's the problem? Why not?" Malia sat up and watched Lilith walk to her dresser.

"I haven't gotten a signal yet." She mumbled as she chose an outfit from her dresser and walked back to the mirror.

"Maybe the ring of flames isn't around here?" Malia watched Lilith apply some lipstick. It was in her favourite colour. Bright red.

"It should be!!!." She yelled as she banged the table "If it isn't then why would Lorthaire tell me to find it?" She whispered to herself. " why the heck did he restrain my powers then?"

Lilith had been more worried about her restricted powers. It pained her that she wouldn't be t a hundred percent. She hate the felling of weakness and the fact her powers is now like that if a mere demon. Cause that was the fact, she ws a somewhat weakling now. Her speed wouldn't be the same and her flames wouldn't last than it use to.

The restricting of her powers got her to understand that Lorthaire is watching her and that the ring of flames existing is a reality.

With much thinking, her conclusion was that he must have expected her to go back on her words henceforth betraying him. So he had taken precaution by locking some of her powers.

Still mad at what Lorthaire did, she swore she would find the ring of flames and destroy Hell.

"I'm leaving" she angrily said and left the room to the surprise of Malia.

. . .

The next day, Lilith had gone about her mission and tried the places where she could have a hint about the ring of flames but as expected, she didn't have any luck. She was heck frustrated and wanted to give up but her plan to destroy hell and Lorthaire gave her hope.

On her way back, she drove her car with annoyance at the fact that she still could'nt find the ring of flamesand she took her anger out on the accelerator as she stepped on it with full force. She was lost in anger she couldn't see a bike heading her way and it was at the last minute she sighted him. She had tried to easily avert the car away with her powers but thanks to her restrained powers, she couldn't do so efficiently and.....crash.
