# CHAPTER 12:- Intercepted
The evening sun dipped lower in the sky —
sunset approaching, casting long shadows over the alley.
In the narrow passageway, Kavya and her group stood cornered —
their breaths shallow, sweat trickling down their faces.
In front of them loomed two officers, flanked by hovering drones, their red sensors glowing menacingly.
Rox subtly signaled to Psycho, a quick flick of his fingers urging him to move forward. But—
One of the officers stepped ahead.
He raised a finger and pointed directly at them.
His voice was cold, heavy, and merciless.
"Don't move. Not even a little.
The next mistake will cost you.
Your call."
Rox froze —
his body stiff, only his eyes darting left to right, scanning for any possible gap, any escape route.
But there was none.
His mind raced, examining every corner of the alley for something—anything he could do.
Then suddenly—
Kavya Chandan stepped forward from behind him, calm and deliberate, her gaze locked straight ahead.
One of the officers narrowed his eyes.
"I believe I told you not to move—"
He stopped mid-sentence.
Kavya slowly raised both hands into the air —
a silent gesture of surrender.
Rox's eyes widened as he saw Kavya's raised hands.
His mouth parted, a whisper escaping almost instinctively.
"What are you doing…?"
He stepped forward, panic rising in his voice.
"Kav—"
But before he could finish her name, Kavya turned sharply toward him.
Her eyes locked onto his — steady and unflinching.
He stopped.
That single look froze him in place.
He couldn't move.
Across from them, Officer Maxi turned to the woman beside him.
"As easy as I expected.
What do you think, Mrs. Noxiya?"
Noxiya gave a slight shrug and nodded, silent and unimpressed.
Maxi turned back toward Rox, casually pointing at him.
"Is that kid with you?"
Kavya stepped forward calmly, her voice cold but composed.
"No. I don't know him. I came here alone."
Maxi gave her a long glance, then looked at Rox with a faint smirk.
He gave a casual thumbs-up.
"Alright, kid. You're free to go."
Maxi pressed a button on his wristwatch as he stepped forward.
A thin black handcuff materialized in his hand, glowing faintly with a pulsating blue ray — high-tech and ominous.
He approached Kavya without hesitation.
With practiced ease, he clasped the cuff around her wrist. The moment it clicked into place, a soft humming sound echoed from the mechanism.
Then, without a word, Maxi turned and began walking toward the end of the alley.
And just like that —
Kavya's body was pulled forward, following him against her will.
The cuff had activated a magnetic tether, silently dragging her along.
That was their technology.
Clean. Efficient. Inescapable.
They reached the exit of the alley —
where two more officers stood waiting.
Officer Roxford and Officer Triface.
Kavya glanced up at them… and froze in disbelief.
Officer Triface truly lived up to his name.
Two holographic faces hovered beside his real one — one on the left, one on the right — both mirroring his expressions with perfect synchronization.
He wore a long, flowing red coat, lined with two black stars on the shoulders.
Beneath it: a sleek black shirt tucked into crimson red pants.
Every step he took radiated silent authority.
Beside him stood Officer Roxford —
a mechanical eagle perched proudly on his right shoulder, its eyes glowing faintly with blue light.
His attire mirrored Triface's style: a long yellow coat with two black stars on each shoulder, over a sharp black shirt and matching yellow trousers.
Both stood like statues — unshaken, unreadable.
And both… were clearly not ordinary officers.
They all stood on the edge of the footpath,
drones still buzzing overhead — their high-pitched whirring filling the sky with an irritating hum.
Officer Noxiya tilted her head upward.
She wore a sleek, cup-shaped hat perched atop her long pinkish-crimson hair.
A glowing blue ray-line ran diagonally from beneath her eye down to her jaw — like a planted scar of light.
Her outfit was as sharp as her gaze:
a long black coat draped over a black shirt and matching trousers.
She narrowed her eyes at the sky, visibly annoyed.
"Ugh…
Those things are so noisy.
That buzzing makes my ears itch."
Officer Maxi stepped forward.
His messy blue hair swayed slightly in the breeze, untamed but somehow deliberate — a reflection of the man himself.
He wore a long white coat, crisp and spotless, with two black stars on each shoulder — a sign of rank.
As his sleeve shifted, a bold tattoo could be seen inked along his forearm in harsh black letters:
"NO MERCY."
Beneath the coat, a simple black shirt and matching white trousers completed his sharp, intimidating appearance.
At that moment, a low hum echoed through the alley.
A sleek hover car glided into view and came to a smooth stop right in front of them — its body shimmering under the setting sun.
The moment felt final.
Like the next step was out of everyone's hands.
A second hover car arrived, pulling up quietly behind the first.
The other officers had already entered the first vehicle, settling into their seats without a word.
Officer Maxi turned and walked toward the second car — the one meant for him and Kavya.
She didn't resist.
Her feet moved on their own as she silently followed behind him, her hands still cuffed, her head low.
Before stepping inside, she paused.
She turned her head… and glanced back.
Rox was still standing there on the footpath — motionless.
Tears streamed down his cheeks, catching the last glimmer of evening sunlight.
Kavya lowered her gaze, her lips trembling.
She bit down, tucking her bottom lip under her teeth to stop it from quivering.
Then, without another word, she turned and stepped into the hover car.
Maxi was already inside, silent.
With a soft mechanical whiss, the car lifted off the ground and sped away —
leaving behind a street drenched in fading light, sorrow…
and silence.
Inside the first hover car, silence lingered.
Only the soft whiss of the engine filled the air — a mechanical hum that matched the tension in the cabin.
Triface finally broke the quiet.
He turned his head slightly toward Roxford, the left and right holographic faces following a split second after.
"Hmph.
I thought she'd resist. Maybe even put up a fight.
But she gave up so easily…
Kind of disappointing, honestly."
Roxford leaned back in his seat, the mechanical eagle on his shoulder adjusting its wings with a faint click.
"Yeah," he muttered, bored.
"I was hoping for a little action. At least make it interesting.
No fun at all."
From the corner, Noxiya let out a small breath — barely a whisper, but sharp enough to be heard.
"Tch."
She didn't look at them. But her irritation was clear.
Inside the second hover car, silence reigned.
In one corner, Kavya sat motionless — her eyes glassy with tears that hadn't yet fallen.
She stared at the floor, her posture small, her hands still cuffed in her lap.
Across from her, Maxi sat with one leg casually crossed over the other, his chin resting on his palm.
He didn't speak.
He didn't need to.
No words were exchanged.
Just the soft, constant whiss of the hover car slicing through the air.
It was the kind of silence that wasn't peaceful —
it was heavy, suffocating, and full of thoughts no one dared to voice.
Far from the hover cars, atop a tall building bathed in the fading orange light —
two figures stood side by side.
Each wore a full black formal coat and matching trousers.
Embroidered across the back of their coats was the image of a white bird in mid-flight.
And just below it, a single word was printed in bold white letters:
PEACE.
They stood still, silent against the skyline —
like shadows waiting to strike.
Both figures leapt from the rooftop — straight toward the hover cars.
As they descended, a soft click echoed from their shoes — boosters flared to life, carrying them gracefully through the air like they were floating.
They landed directly in front of Kavya's car.
With a smooth motion, each of them reached up and loosened their ties with one hand —
cold, calm… deliberate.
A thick burst of smoke billowed across the road, curling around them and shrouding their faces in mystery.
The hover cars slammed to a sudden stop —
WHIP—
tires screeched, hover pads sputtered in panic.
Inside the second car, Maxi leaned forward slightly, his gaze fixed on the smoke-covered figures.
Still calm.
Still expressionless.
Not even a flicker of panic in his eyes.
Kavya slowly pushed her head toward the window, eyes wide.
She stared at the two strangers standing in the smoke —
their faces hidden…
their presence overwhelming.
And then… one of them took a step forward.
"Step away from the girl."
