"Grandmother?!" Anna asked again, still trying to comprehend the words of her father who was currently a disembodied spirit living inside of the boy she was interested in. All of this was a lot and to a normal person, this would have sounded absolutely ridiculous.
The Librarian let out a sigh before she nodded her head and said "I will allow you to call me Grandma as long as you promise not to end up like your father."
Anna's eyes widened. Her cup shook slightly in her hands. "I… I… call you… Grandma?" she stammered, still trying to process the absurdity of the situation.
The Librarian gave a small, almost imperceptible smile, the kind that made her ice-blue eyes soften just a little. "Yes. Grandma. Say it carefully, child. It carries weight."
Anna's jaw dropped and she stared at Cain. He looked equally stunned, his hands trembling slightly as he realized just how far things had escalated.
