Chapter 84: The Beginning
The old man with the goat skull helmet roared, his voice spreading throughout the entire fleet. "Tsunami incoming!!"
"A tsunami?!" Saint Cabanha subconsciously turned his head to look at the sea behind him. A tsunami, as high as a mountain peak and as wide as the horizon, was sweeping toward the fleet at an incredible speed.
"How could a tsunami of this scale appear without any warning?!" The old man in the gas mask subconsciously glanced at the coastline. The border between the sea and the beach was as calm as usual, without a trace of an impending disaster.
Aboard the World Government ships, the "new bloods" of the God's Knights turned to look, and were instantly scared stiff.
"This isn't right!"
"A tsunami of this scale is rare even in the depths of the New World! Why would it happen here?!"
"Everyone, grab the vines I'm extending! Prepare for impact!" the goat skull man roared, his body undergoing a drastic change. He rapidly grew taller, his once-healthy skin turning into wrinkled, brown tree bark, and one by one, wooden branches sprouting green buds pierced through his body.
The next moment, the old man's figure disappeared from the deck, replaced by a humanoid creature over ten meters tall, still wearing the goat skull helmet. Facing the rapidly approaching tsunami, he stretched out a giant hand covered in wrinkled tree bark and sprouting green buds. From it, countless intertwined branches extended, reaching straight for the distant beach. At the same time, countless vines shot out from his other hand, wrapping around the members of the God's Knights and whisking them rapidly toward the island.
A moment later, the Marines who were relentlessly bombarding Geyr Island also noticed the raging tsunami coming from behind. The five Vice Admirals immediately issued orders to cease fire and for all hands to brace for impact.
In an instant, the mountain-high tsunami arrived. Its shadow blotted out the sky, plunging the entire town into darkness. Countless vines intertwined and wove together, creating a massive, indestructible fortress in a corner of Geyr Island, its roots deeply embedded in the ground.
"This is not a natural disaster!" Inside the fortress, the humanoid creature with the goat skull helmet had an ashen face. "I can sense it," he said in a deep voice. "This tsunami has a life signature! And something is coming with it!"
"This is an attack. Just like God Valley back then," the old man in the gas mask said distantly, drawing his sharp blade.
Cabanha looked up at the crest of the tsunami, his face full of confusion. "An attack? Was our information leaked?" His eyes pierced through the atmosphere, looking straight at the shadowy figures faintly visible atop the wave.
Just then, two hearty peals of laughter came from the crest of the tsunami.
"Kabababababa!"
"Gegyagyagyagya!"
"You scum of the World Government! You dare to capture our juniors!"
"You have angered Elbaf!"
"Juniors? Elbaf?" Besides confirming that this was a premeditated attack, the sudden voices also provided some information to the Marines and the God's Knights.
"So, the attackers this time are the Giant race? Is it that legendary monster, Loki?" The silver-haired old man's brow, hidden beneath his gas mask, furrowed in confusion.
Out of the arrogance of the Celestial Dragons, even knowing that this attack might be related to one of them capturing giants, they paid it no mind. So what if we captured them? It's a trivial matter, nothing to complain about.
On the other side, aboard the ten Buster Call warships, the Vice Admirals were not only angry but also completely baffled.
"Giants?"
"When did we capture any giants?!"
"Was the matter with the two giants at Enies Lobby exposed?"
But soon, everyone realized something was wrong and all looked toward the distant fleet flying the World Government flag.
"..."
"Could it be... that they did it?"
The tsunami pressed down, threatening to cover the sky, nearly enveloping the entire town and causing the many citizens who had survived the Buster Call bombardment to show expressions of despair.
...
Atop the devastatingly powerful tsunami, an iceberg several hundred meters in size swayed in the waves. On it stood a group of figures with extraordinary auras. Arcordon, completely covered and with his appearance hidden, looked at the two giants beside him. He raised a hand to rub his ears and then subconsciously complained, "You're too loud, Dorry, Brogy! Remember to give a warning before you shout!"
"Gegyagyagyagya!" Dorry looked down at Arcordon and laughed. "Sorry! We'll be careful next time."
A resolute-faced young man in a black suit with short stubble looked down at the verdant fortress. "The time has finally come to test the results of all our past efforts."
"Louis, remember to hold back a little. There's a town down there!" Yelena, once again in a suit of heavy armor with only her black oni horns exposed, reminded him.
"Don't worry, I only target those on the World Government's side..." Louis walked out from the middle of the iceberg, standing at the very front. At this moment, he was clad in gold and red heavy armor, holding a greatsword and a spear.
Carried by the tsunami, the iceberg tilted, falling toward the island. Amidst the roar of the churning tsunami and the whistle of their descent, Louis's voice clearly reached everyone's ears.
"Dorry, Brogy, the Marines from who-knows-where are yours. I will release your kinsmen!"
"Is that so? No problem!" The two giants looked at each other and answered readily with a smile.
...
"Yelena, there's a guy down there with a goat skull on his head. Looks like a plant-type Mythical Zoan. Go and kill him."
Yelena's voice came from beneath her black mask, which had spikes similar to her oni horns. "Alright!"
"Uta, Daz, Kuina, you will command the Flügels and take down those people in the fancy clothes who look like they're asking for a beating."
"Okay-dokey," Uta opened her purple eyes and looked at Louis with a grin. "But what about after I take them down? Can I go and help you?" She felt that if necessary, she could take down everyone on the island in a very short time. Therefore, Uta wanted to try and join Louis's battle.
Louis thought for a moment, then pointed at Dorry and the others. "Go and help them."
Before Uta could respond, Louis turned to look at Arcordon. "Do as you see fit."
...
The massive tsunami swallowed the warships one by one. The deafening roar, like a proclamation of doom, continuously battered people's minds.
BOOM—
A giant crash shook the entire island. The residents of the town staggered and fell, looking up in despair at the endless tide that enveloped them.
However, they soon realized something was wrong. The tide, which stretched to the horizon, flew straight over their town, carrying the warships with it and crashing heavily onto the beaches and wilderness of Geyr Island.
"What... what was that?"
"The tsunami actually passed over the town..."
