Chapter 118 - Chapter 118: Testing the Divine Sword

The one who appeared was none other than this universe's Supreme Kai Shin.

He wore a dark indigo robe, had a slender frame, a delicate and almost androgynous demeanor, and a stark white mohawk atop his head.

The Supreme Kai landed lightly on the stone pillar, his narrow eyes curiously examining Levos, a faint smile playing on his lips.

Seeing this, Kibito quickly stepped forward to greet him.

"Supreme Kai, why have you come out here?" he asked with concern. "This mortal harbors ill intent. He came here for the Sacred Sword of the Supreme Kai Realm!"

"Kibito," the Supreme Kai replied with a calm smile, "I've already learned the full situation from the Kai of the lower realm."

He paused for a moment, then added, "Don't worry. They're friends, not enemies."

His gaze then shifted toward Levos and his companions standing on the opposite side of the pillar.

"Welcome, everyone," the Supreme Kai said courteously.

"Greetings, Supreme Kai. My name is Levos," Levos responded with a small nod. He narrowed his eyes slightly, eyeing the glowing halo above Shin's head.

According to what Merus had told him, the one who murdered the Supreme Kai had also been behind the destruction of the South Galaxy.

That narrowed the list of suspects down to one: Broly.

For the entire Seventh Universe, Broly was a ticking time bomb.

It was highly likely he would eventually stand against Levos, becoming an enemy.

Which made the Supreme Kai a vital source of information regarding Broly.

However, for now, Levos had yet to have any direct conflict with Broly in this timeline.

And the current crisis wasn't related to him either.

"You seem to already know about the Supreme Kai Sword?" Shin's voice interrupted Levos's train of thought.

Levos composed himself and got straight to the point. "That's right. I wish to borrow the power of that sacred sword to defeat a formidable enemy."

Shin gave a slight nod. "The opponent this time is a rogue Supreme Kai from another universe. They're extremely difficult to deal with. I agree that it may be time to use this sword."

Kibito's expression changed instantly. "Supreme Kai, are you serious?! This place is a sanctuary, forbidden to even the Kais and the Gods of Earth, let alone mortals!"

"And the Supreme Kai Sword no one has been able to draw it, not even multiple generations of Supreme Kais! How could a mere mortal possibly wield it?"

Shin spoke earnestly. "Regardless, we must try."

"Besides, there are now many beings in this universe far stronger than I am. Perhaps a mortal really can pull out this sword..."

Kibito clearly didn't buy it.

"Wait a moment." Levos set down Bulma and Piccolo gently before stepping forward and gripping the sword's hilt.

"As far as I know, no one's been able to pull that sword out yet," Shin explained.

Bulma and Android 18 leaned in with interest, eyes fixed on the hilt embedded in the stone pillar.

"Is it just really sharp or something?" Android 18 asked, arms crossed over her chest.

"No!" Kibito replied sternly, his face rigid. "Legend says that whoever draws this sword gains immense power."

Then, twisting his mouth into a smirk, he said to Levos, "Don't get cocky, mortal. You may be strong, but this is the Supreme Kai Sword. If even the Supreme Kais couldn't draw it, how could a human..."

Before he could finish, the stone pillar beneath their feet trembled slightly.

Kibito's eyes snapped wide open in disbelief.

"What... how is this possible?"

The Supreme Kai, on the other hand, lit up with joy.

On top of the stone pillar, Levos gripped the hilt with one hand and began slowly pulling the sword out.

He didn't use much force, careful not to topple the pillar in the process.

Even so, the entire stone pillar shook violently, as though fused with the sword itself.

Bit by bit, under Levos's cautious movements, the sword slid free from the pillar.

The full length of the blade gleamed in the sunlight, its tip pointed skyward.

"This... this can't be real. You actually pulled it out?" Kibito looked utterly stunned.

Shin was nearly trembling with excitement. "Mr. Levos, how does it feel? Do you feel a surge of power?"

Levos casually swung the blade a few times. "It doesn't feel special. Just... really heavy."

"What are you saying? This is the legendary Supreme Kai Sword! Of course a mortal like you can't bring out its true power!" Kibito snapped defensively, his tone laced with sarcasm.

"Then how about this?" Levos cast him a side glance. "Why don't you give it a try?"

"Fine!" Kibito nodded seriously and reached out to take the sword from Levos. "Whoa, it's heavy!"

The moment Levos let go, Kibito felt like he was holding a ten-ton boulder. His body bent forward uncontrollably, nearly falling over.

Clang

The sword crashed into the stone pillar and lodged itself deep into the ground.

Panicking, Kibito grabbed the hilt and tried to lift it.

"Hnnnghhh..." His face flushed red as he strained with all his might, but the sword didn't budge an inch.

"I... you..." Kibito took a few gasping breaths, then stood up straight, trying to save face. "You're right. It is a bit heavy."

Levos raised an eyebrow and calmly picked the sword back up, swinging it effortlessly. "Yeah, pretty heavy."

Kibito stared at him, completely bewildered.

Shin turned to Levos. "Mr. Levos, you should examine it more closely. I'm certain there's something special about that sword."

"Maybe we should test how sharp it is," Levos suggested, prompting him.

"Great idea! This is the Supreme Kai Sword it's bound to be the sharpest weapon in the universe!" Shin declared with full confidence.

He pointed to a giant rock at the base of the pillar. "Let's try it on that, shall we?"

Levos nodded.

He vanished in a flash and reappeared next to the boulder, slashing down with the sword.

Clang

The boulder split clean in two, like a hot knife through butter.

"Supreme Kai, do you have anything tougher to test it on?" Levos asked with a smirk.

Shin thought for a moment, then his face lit up. "How about this Kasinyum Steel! The hardest metal in the entire universe!"

He raised his palm, summoning a massive cube of shimmering silver metal that floated above them.

"I'm going to toss it now, Mr. Levos!" Shin said.

"Go ahead." A playful gleam flashed in Levos's eyes.

Whoosh

The block of Kasinyum Steel flew through the air toward him.

Levos adjusted his stance, choosing his angle carefully, and swung the Supreme Kai Sword with precision at the corner of the cube.

Clang

A sharp, ringing sound of metal on metal echoed out.

The sword snapped in half.

Everyone froze in stunned silence except for Levos.

The chunk of Kasinyum Steel skidded across the ground, tearing a long trench before finally coming to a halt.

No one spoke for a long moment.

"The most powerful divine sword in the universe... just broke?" Kibito's eyes looked ready to pop out of their sockets.

Even the Supreme Kai had lost his composure, staring dumbfounded at the broken blade in Levos's hand.
