Nomad had three Executive-class space cruisers to escort guests in and out. One was reserved for the Queen—but Eve never used it. She was Soul Drifter type.
Today, this special-class luxury cruiser had a special delivery—a baby.
Jax, Vayne, and Anya had gotten way too much attached to Mira's daughter. She was only a year and a half old. Letting her go didn't seem easy.
As per Saiyaran tradition, the newborn had to be raised and educated about Eve. Prepared so she can handle political dynamics. The same special education Mira and Ammara had received—now it was Saphherine's turn.
"Well, she could just stay on the ship and watch the Queen in action, right in her mother's arms. Why does she have to leave... to study all that?" Jax had argued.
"How can she learn about Eve millions of miles away from Eve?" Anya supported him.
"That's because we are a war-class ship, and Nomad could go to war at any time. Would you want Saphherine on board while we head into The Dark Galaxy, you numnuts?" Hannah explained.
The year and a half Saphherine spent on the ship was a delight for everyone. They took turns watching over her. Mommy came to breastfeed on schedule. Eve would spend hours with her.
Saphherine's nursery had literally become everyone's go-to party room. Sometimes, they even slept there.
The alien, cybernetic, and human squad were coming in handy. So most missions previously handled by the core squad were now being assigned to Teams Alpha and Bravo. Team Charlie—only when needed.
"Don't you want to name her?" Mira would ask Eve, watching her husband holding the baby's hand as she slept peacefully in the cradle. She was only three days old at the time.
"I'd rather meet a stranger. If I name her, then I already know her," Eve would tell Mira.
Mira was the only second-in-command who was always around Eve. The only one who got to travel everywhere with her.
Before Nomad, all of Eve was limited to Saiyaran Palace—wandering off on her explorations or taking her ship away on missions when Saiyara was under threat.
The squad gave their goodbye kisses to 'Baby Saph,' as Jax called her, consigning her to Saiyaran Palace where Mira had grown up.
"Will you be okay?" Ayna asked Mira on the way back.
"I will miss her but she's got to toughen up. I'm glad—when I can't, her aunts and uncles will drop by and give her my blessings."
