Chapter 43 - Trapped In A Beautiful Dream - Aster

What Kael feared came true—one of the engkantos' smiles widened, stretching impossibly from cheek to cheek. But instead of fixing its gaze on him, its attention seemed to drift past his shoulder, and its expression immediately changed. 

"?" Kael slowly looked back, but there was nothing there except his two companions—Eryn and Aster. He suddenly recalled something. Didn't this kind of thing happen in the dwarven kingdom, too?

The engkanto's smile faltered, its expression momentarily stunned, before it abruptly looked straight ahead, gliding forward as if it had never noticed them at all. 

Kael was baffled, but he didn't dare ask the two demons beside him, in fear that he'd make noise. Could it be that these entities were actually afraid of demons? 

Now, that particular engkanto was the head of the line, so when it continued marching, the rest followed in perfect unison, their ghostly forms swaying slightly as they moved.
