Xeno and Pamoen walked down the main street of the nearby town. She had won a sparring match so she was granted a trip out since she was the winner.
"You don't like Riley?" Pamoen said as they stepped into the restaurant they were going to eat at. "Why?"
Xeno gulped, obviously not wanting to talk about how she raped him when he was young and never met any punishment. She wasn't sent away until she had to serve time at the Dragon Lair for killing wolves in Nadia.
"We just don't get along is all," he said to the young child.
"Her husband is very nice," the young Omega said, the two of them sat at a table with menus placed before them.
"Derrick is nice. Yes, he's, he's nice, very caring," was all Xeno could say. "But enough about my family, what about yours?"
Pamoen had requested for the shepard's pie while Xeno requested for steak and broccoli. It was a simple meal for both of them. Pamoen drunk some of her water which was what she requested. She looked up at the ceiling trying to figure out what she wanted to say.
"My sire is named Sous and my mother is Kara. I have three siblings. Our names all started with P." Xeno laughed, thinking how cute it was they all had the first letter to their first name. "I'm a quadruplet."
"WHOA!"
Pamoen nodded her head drinking more water. "I want my sire to be proud of me. Before I left, I could tell she was disappointed in me," Pamoen exclaimed.
Xeno dropped his eyebrows. "I'm sure she doesn't think you're too bad. You're her daughter after all."
Pamoen shrugged her shoulders. "I'm the only Omega and she would never spend time with me."
"You mean with your little model cars?"
"Hmm hmm," she confirmed. Just as she did the waiter came with their food. She placed the shepard's pie in front of Pamoen and gave Xeno is steak. They ate in silence.
Pamoen ate slowly, her fork scraping against the ceramic plate as she pushed the mashed potatoes around. Her gaze drifted to the window, watching rain begin to streak the glass, fat, heavy drops blurring the streetlights outside into smears of gold.
Xeno cut his steak carefully, the scrape of his knife loud in the quiet space between them. Steam curled from the broccoli, carrying the grassy scent of overcooked greens mixed with the rich, peppery aroma of his medium-rare meat. The little Omega began to hum. Something she did when she was content and Xeno couldn't help but smile.
The rain intensified outside, hammering the cobblestones and transforming the street into a slick, reflective ribbon. Water streamed down the windowpane beside Pamoen, distorting the warm glow of the restaurant lanterns into watery halos.
Her shepherd's pie was almost gone, the gravy congealing slightly around the edges. Her fork was swift with eating it all and when she was done, she asked Xeno for seconds. Of course, he obliged.
Xeno and Pamoen stood outside the restaurant waiting for the rain to let up. "Your Atin has gotten a lot better," he said to her.
She smiled widely. "Yeah, I practice more and since I live here, it's easy now."
"Hmm, maybe one day you can teach me Arey."
Pamoen nodded her head saying her parents were native speakers of Atin. Xeno listened to the young girl, smiling as she smiled about her family.
"Wait a minute," Xeno stopped Pamoen from speaking. He turned to her. "Who did you say your parents were?"
"Sous and Kara..."
"Sous...the mutt?" Pamoen's facial expressed became twisted, showing she was hurt to hear that word. He shook his head and quickly apologized to the Omega. "Tsk," he would be more careful moving forward.
Once the rain let up, they began to walk back to the training grounds but all the while, Xeno was thinking about Pamoen's parents. Sous and Kara were known as some of the most powerful people to come out of Nadia and Kara-Kara used to be Zhiliary's mate.
Xeno found the whole situation weird. Sous and Zhiliary were enemies. Hell, Sous was an enemy to the whole country of Canas and yet her daughter was right here training under them?
The Omega stood in the shower that night wanting to meet Pamoen's parents. Wanting them to know that their little girl was something to be reckoned with.
Crack!
The door to the restroom opened with Xeno's Alpha entering. He had a towel wrapped around his midsection that quickly went to the floor when he closed the restroom door behind him.
He stepped into the shower and kissed Xeno passionately.
The Alpha's hands slid down Xeno's wet skin, tracing the curve of his spine, pulling him closer as the hot water streamed over them both. Steam thickened the air, clinging to their skin, filling their lungs with humid warmth that tasted faintly of soap and clean tile.
Xeno leaned into the kiss, his body relaxing under the familiar touch, the tension from the day's revelations momentarily forgotten. The water drummed against their shoulders, slicking their hair, mingling sweat with droplets until everything felt liquid, seamless.
His Alpha's scent, deep cedar and iron, cut through the steam, grounding Xeno even as fingertips explored the dip of his lower back, possessive and claiming.
Water sluiced over them, plastering dark hair to foreheads, running in rivulets down heated skin. The kiss deepened, bruisingly intimate, a silent language of need and reassurance learned over years. Fingers tangled in wet strands, pulling heads closer, the rhythm dictated by the insistent pulse of the shower spray and the shared breath fogging the glass enclosure.
Xeno leaned into the shower wall and bent his back, allowing his Alpha easy access. They made love like that for some time until they were too exhausted to continue. They went to bed together that night with Xeno falling asleep in his Alpha's arms, thinking of the day, dreaming about meeting Pamoen's parents. He would tell them how amazing she was and they could have pride in her!
