Chapter 222 - Zan and Xeno Arc: Five

Zan walked between Faye and Makala as they entered into the store of Abigal. The woman was pleased to see Faye and well, the other two were just a mere distraction. Regardless, she smiled at them, welcomed them inside.

"Yes," she said to them, looking at Faye first before turning her eyes to the tall man in the center, a wolf clearly.

He was nervous even shy but he spoke well with his head held up. "I...I was told that you can help me communicate with a passed spirit."

Abigal looked at Faye, smiling she turned back to Zan and nodded her head. "Yes, follow me." Zan proceeded to follow in Abigal's footsteps while Makala looked at Faye.

"We're not doing anything," Faye said to her wife.

"I know but she clearly wants to."

Zan moved the beads out the way and walked into the seance room. It was low in lighting with a round table in the small room. To the side was a soft couch where Faye and Makala sat down at.

Abigal motioned for Zan to sit in the chair across from her. He swallowed, small beads of sweat forming on his brow that wiped away, using the back of his hand. He sighed, taking a big breath.

"Who are we contacting?"

"Randali Eag," he answered. "A wolf like me."

"Her spirit should be rather easy to find," Faye said, making Abigal blush in the process. No matter, the medium closed her eyes and began to search for Randali in the spiritual realm. A wolf named Randali.

"An Alpha?" She asked.

"Yes."

Abigal nodded her head and continued to search.

The room was thick with silence, broken only by the distant chatter of people walking by on the street by the shop's thick curtains. Faye shifted uncomfortably on the worn velvet couch beside Makala, her fingers drumming a silent rhythm on her thigh. Makala watched Zan, noting the tension in his shoulders, the way his breath hitched when Abigal's eyelids fluttered.

Abigal stood up and opened a small portal right there, its light glowing, and emissive. A figure stepped forward, blue and white in magae.

BANG!

Zan's chair fell over as he quickly stood to see fifteen year old Randali walk out of the portal. He ran to her, wanting to hug her already his vision was blurred because of the tears. Faye and Makala watched from the side, now standing up as well.

"Randali," he whispered, wondering if she could hear him.

Zan's breath caught in his throat as Randali materialized fully, her form shimmering with an ethereal glow that cast dancing light across the low-lit room. Her eyes, wide and unblinking, scanned the space with a mix of recognition and confusion, settling on Zan as he scrambled upright.

He reached out instinctively, fingers trembling mere inches from her translucent arm, but the air crackled with static energy, repelling him with an invisible force. Faye sucked in a sharp breath beside Makala, her hand tightening around her wife's wrist as they watched Zan stumble back, raw desperation etched into every line of his face.

"Wow!" Randali said.

"Hows the afterlife?" Faye asked, only for her wife to slap her upside the arm.

Randali laughed; it was good to see her old friends. "Where's Jacob and Sous and Tany?"

"Jacob's dead," Faye answered.

"And Tany has freed Hacate and is doing witchy stuff," Makala said.

"I didn't invite Sous to join us," Zan said.

"Why not?" Randali asked her mate. She will always view Zan as her mate.

"WHY WOULD I? SHE WAS THE ONE THAT DID ALL OF THIS!" Zan yelled, his emotions raw.

Randali glared at Zan, scuffing. "You mated with her..."

Zan's eyes became wide and he fell to his knees before the Alpha, bowing his head, submitting to her even now.

Drip, drip!

He apologized profusely, the tears spilling onto the floor as they ran down his cheeks, stopping at his chin and falling to their splash.

"Stand up, Zan." He did as he was told. "You grew up into a really handsome man. I like your ear rings," she said watching him blush.

"I really wish it was you I was with," he said.

Randali shook her head. "Don't be rude to your current Alpha." She paused. "I love you, Zan."

He broke down crying with Faye and Makala doing their best to keep their heads turned the other way, even they were guilty of tears.

"I love you too," he finally managed to say, pushing back tears and straightening his back.

"And Faye," Randali said. "The after life is fine but we lose all of our memory when reincarnated. Have no fear when dying. You'll reunite with the ones you love," she finished.

...

Faye and Makala waited outside for Zan. He had been speaking with Randali for more than an hour, at which point, the couple thought they were imposing and left.

They sat on a bench huddled up together because of the snow. Faye had her hand on her wife's belly, slowly growing bigger and bigger.

"After this, I'll take Zan home first and then come back for you then we'll teleport home together," Faye said.

"I'm jealous of that woman," Makala said bluntly. "I imagine you sleeping with her."

"I haven't ever stepped out on you."

"First time for everything, they say."

Faye inhaled. When a wife is suspicious then she will continue to be until the other woman is no longer in the picture. Luckily, Faye and Abigal rarely interacted and they won't until they explore the other side of the portals where the demons reside.

Still, the priestess nodded her head and kissed Makala. She understood where the vampire was coming from.

Step, step!

The women turned and saw Zan standing next to them. They stood up.

"Is everything okay?" Faye asked.

"Yes," he answered. "Yes." Faye did as she told Makala: she left with Zan while the vampire waited. Once Faye came back, she and Makala left back to their home. Later, she would ask Zan what him and Randali talked about.
