Here they were...at their last location. Faye, Tany, and Sous stood there in the front of all the threaders. The threaders had their needles ready to go, for before stood the tall Groken tree surrounded by portals.
Sous flapped her wings, hovering a bit above the sand. They were in a desert. The demons were relatively large, the threaders were a bit scared. Sous chuckled a bit, nodding to Faye.
"They seem frightened," the Alpha said to her best friend.
"Look at these demons. They're giants," the priestess said.
"No worries," Sous said with such confidence. "Watch this!"
Sous lifted up her shirt, show casing the black seal upon her stomach. Faye's eyes got wide, noticing the new seal on her friend. The Alpha extracted her claw and stabbed herself.
Her body grew large, like that of a titan changing into a wolf form. She roared as she came to be, the threaders stepping away with Faye and Tany standing there in awe.
Of course, it didn't take long for the demons to spot Sous now that she was several stories tall.
BOOM!
Sous stamped her foot on the ground, causing everyone around her to fly this way and that. She charged toward the demons!
The desert sand erupted beneath her paws as Sous lunged forward, claws scraping against sandstone bedrock hidden beneath the dunes.
One demon swung a club-like fist; Sous dodged, the air pressure alone sending nearby threaders scrambling. Her wolf form moved with surprising grace, a whirlwind of fur and shadow against the muted orange sky.
Teeth snapped inches from scaled demon hide, a spray of acidic spit sizzling where it hit the sand. Faye shielded her eyes from the grit storm, heart pounding against her ribs as she watched her friend weave between lumbering attacks.
"Should we help?" Faye asked.
"No, Sous barely did anything on the other trees. This is the least she could do," Tany said with a flip of her hair.
Sous' massive wolf form twisted mid-air, avoiding another clumsy demon swing. Her claws raked downward, shattering scales like pottery.
Acidic demon blood sprayed, steaming where it hit the sand. One demon stumbled, disoriented by Sous' speed; she seized its arm, the crunch of bone echoing across the dunes as she slammed it into its companion. Sand geysered upward, stinging eyes miles away.
"Yo! Let's close these portals while Sous is doing what she does!" Faye screamed out.
The threaders got to work, swinging toward the open portals. It was more difficult since there weren't any trees besides for the Groken tree. They constantly had to land on the same branches.
The demons were getting tired, unable to hit Sous. She dodged each attack they threw.
Sous leaped onto another demon's back, biting its neck. She tore chunks of flesh off as it screamed. The demon fell to the sand with a thud. Sous roared again, shaking the ground under her feet.
The last demon stood, its breath ragged and steaming in the cold desert twilight. One eye was a ruined pit, gouged by claws; the other burned with desperate fury. Acidic drool pooled around its scaled feet, eating pits into the bedrock Sous had exposed.
Sous lunged, a mountain of pure muscle and wolf. The demon swung, not blindly now, but with the calculated desperation of cornered prey.
Its fist connected with Sous' ribs. The crack echoed like splitting stone, and Sous staggered, a guttural whine escaping her jaws. Sand sprayed as she skidded, leaving deep trenches of the desert.
Sous pushed off the shuddering ground, meeting the charge head-on. Claws met scales in a blinding shower of sparks and shredded hide.
Acidic blood sprayed, sizzling where it coated Sous' thick fur, sending tendrils of acrid smoke curling into the twilight air.
The remaining demon, towering despite its grievous wounds, slammed a scaled fist into Sous' flank. The impact reverberated through the dunes, a sickening thud of hardened hide meeting dense muscle.
Sous staggered sideways, paws sinking deep into the loosened sand, her massive wolf form momentarily unbalanced. A low growl, thick with pain and fury, rumbled from her chest as fractured ribs grated beneath the surface. Sand gritted against exposed bone beneath her fur where the blow landed.
"SOUS!" The Alpha heard Tany calling from below. Worried as a result of the blood that coated the sand.
The last demon, its chest heaving with ragged breaths that steamed the cooling desert air, lowered its guard just enough.
Pain lanced through Sous' ribs with every movement, a grinding agony beneath her fur where scales had torn deep gouges. She tasted copper, her own blood this time, mingling with the acrid tang of demon fluid on her tongue.
Sous met it mid-stride. Claws scraped scale, sparks flying like shattered stars. Her jaws snapped, closing on the demon's forearm; bone crunched, splintering under pressure. The demon bellowed, wrenching free in a spray of blackened gore. She lunged again, aiming for the throat-
SLASH!
Oceans of blood spilled from the demon, landing on the sand creating waves the threaders had to swim in before the liquid fell to the ground.
Sous' eyes rolled to the back of her head and she full foward onto the sand, creating a sand storm.
THUD!
Tany and Faye quickly ran to the Alpha, the titan of a werewolf, unsure of what to do. So they stood beside her, rubbing her fur, waiting for the seal to complete.
