c118: It's Not Over Yet! Lonely Lure
"Ahhhh!!"
The four of them Son Goku, Vegeta, Future Trunks, and Luya united their powers, releasing everything they had in one desperate strike. The dazzling surge of ki expanded violently, surpassing even the overwhelming aura of Fused Zamasu.
"No!! Impossible! You are mere mortals!!" Zamasu's distorted voice echoed as their combined energy engulfed him completely. His body was submerged in the blazing torrent.
With a piercing scream, his figure was swallowed by a blinding beam that tore into the heavens. A thunderous rumble followed Zamasu's unstable body burst apart, scattering into a bloody mist.
"Hahh… hahh…" The battlefield fell silent, broken only by the panting of the exhausted fighters.
"We… won…!" Goku chuckled, his body trembling from fatigue.
Vegeta exhaled heavily, his stern face relaxing for a rare moment. Trunks collapsed to his knees, overwhelmed, until Xiao Wu rushed toward him.
"Trunks!" she cried, relief washing over her face.
"Xiao Wu…" Trunks managed a weak smile, embracing her tightly. Their reunion carried the weight of a world scarred by despair.
For years, their future had been tormented Zamasu's "Zero Mortals Plan" had devastated humanity, annihilating loved ones, friends, and entire cities. The pain and burden were beyond words. Now, at last, it seemed their nightmare had ended.
"Hmph. Hug all you want when we get back," Luya interrupted with a smirk. "If you squeeze her any tighter, she's going to pop."
Almost as if mocking his words, the earth itself began to rupture. Cracks split open, magma geysers erupted, and the land shook violently. The apocalypse Zamasu had triggered continued even in his apparent death.
"In the end… we still couldn't protect this world," Goku admitted, his voice heavy.
"Be content," Vegeta said flatly. "Defeating Zamasu was victory enough. This ruined Earth had few survivors left anyway."
Trunks clenched his fists, his expression grim. "At least this timeline isn't the same as Father's. Otherwise, the damage would've spread far beyond repair."
"Forget it. Trunks, take out the time machine," Goku ordered.
Nodding, Trunks pulled out a capsule, pressed the switch, and tossed it. Bang! With a burst of smoke, the familiar green time machine appeared.
"Alright, climb aboard," Goku said, waving them on.
Trunks and Xiao Wu immediately boarded. Vegeta sneered at Goku before leaping inside with folded arms.
"Luya, grab hold with me. We'll cling onto the frame," Goku said.
Luya shrugged. "Fine by me. It'll only take a second."
Under Trunks' control, the time machine began to hover. Goku and Luya leapt up, gripping the outer frame tightly.
"Hurry, we're about to leave!" Trunks shouted.
Bzzzt! The time machine hummed, wrapped in a cocoon of white light. Just as it prepared to vanish
Whoosh!!
A dark beam of energy lanced toward them, targeting Luya!
"What?!" Goku and Trunks exclaimed.
It was too late. Luya released his grip, intercepting the blast with his own body.
"Luya!! Grab on!!" Goku roared, but in the same instant, the time machine warped into a stream of light and vanished.
Luya hovered alone in the crumbling sky, smoke rising from his body. "…Damn it. It's not over yet!"
He shattered the energy with a roar, his aura bursting outward. His eyes narrowed on the figure staggering out of the smoke.
There, broken and scarred, stood Zamasu his form grotesque, half-divine and half-decayed, yet his eyes still burned with twisted hatred.
"Human… you cannot escape me!" Zamasu snarled.
Luya sneered. "So you survived… how persistent."
"Hahaha! Yes… I may have lost my perfect body, but I will drag you down with me!!" Zamasu's voice was a mix of divine arrogance and madness.
Luya's gaze sharpened. "Pitiful. But if you're still alive, I'll erase you myself before leaving. If I let you recover, this universe will suffer again."
He pulled a senzu bean from his system inventory and swallowed it. Within seconds, his wounds vanished, and his aura surged to new heights. His battle power had skyrocketed after enduring the fusion's torment.
Zamasu growled. His immortal body was failing each regeneration weakened him further.
"You think you can kill me?! Even weakened, you'll never leave here alive!!" Zamasu howled.
"You're wrong," Luya said coldly. "Your immortality is fractured. Your fusion is undone. You've lost Goku Black. Now, if I destroy you, you stay dead."
The ground shook violently, magma swallowing the landscape. The Earth's collapse was imminent.
Luya clenched his fists. "No time. Let's finish this."
His aura ignited, exploding into crimson flames. "Super Saiyan God!!"
Zamasu shrieked and lunged, the ground quaking beneath his divine wrath. Luya met him head-on, fists colliding with a thunderous boom.
Zamasu forced Luya back, but the mortal warrior smirked. "Not bad… but I'm not done."
"Kaio-Ken!!" Luya roared, his red aura doubling in intensity as his body endured the crushing strain.
Zamasu hurled volley after volley of dark energy blades, but Luya bent his body around them, reading the trajectory as if predicting his every move.
"Kame…hame…"
Zamasu's eyes widened. "You dare?!"
"HA!!!"
The Turtle School's ultimate attack roared forward, colliding with Zamasu's black barrier. For a moment, the god's shield held then fissures spread across it.
Crack!
Zamasu screamed, his body engulfed by the massive wave. His Potara earring shattered, his form splitting apart. Black Goku's body dissolved into nothingness, erased completely. Only Kaiōshin Zamasu's battered form remained, immortality barely clinging to his fractured body.
He writhed in the crater, eyes wide with despair. "How… how could I, a god, lose to mortals…?!"
Luya stood over him, gaze cold. "You underestimated humans. You underestimated me."
"Human!! I will return…! I swear I will"
But before Zamasu could finish, the Time Ring on his finger began to glow.
Slash!
Luya appeared in a flash, severing Zamasu's arm in one motion. The ring fell, only to be obliterated instantly by Luya's energy blast.
The god's scream echoed across the crumbling sky.
